Friend gave me this old phone saying he bought it from "some guy." It appears to have the pre-alpha Eaglesblood Jellybean ROM installed.
What it will do:
-Boot to launcher
What it won't
- Connect to Wifi. Wifi powers on, authenticates, and when it tries to grab an IP address, it soft-crashes & reboots.
- Connect to mobile network. Just doesn't see it at all
- See SD installed SD card (which is known to work.)
- Boot to recover or S/W update mode. I've tried every combo of VOL+/VOL- + PWR, both VOL buttons w/ battery removed then plugging in the USB cable, telling ROM Manager to reboot into recovery... I can't even tell if it had clockwork installed or not.
As a Nexus guy, this device is really frustrating! Searched for many hours. "Oh just do a,b,c" but nothing's working.
If I could get into recovery (which I have to assume is CWM since a custom ROMs on there now) and it could see the SD card, I could flash a working ROM. As it stands, this thing is useless.
Are there any tricks with this specific model to get into recovery that I'm not seeing?
Thanks in advance.
Have you tried reinstalling/flashing cwm again via nvflash? There's a link in one of the stickies with nvflash. Try reinstalling it. I once had a problem where I couldn't boot into recovery for some reason....so I reflashed cwm and it got it working again.

I literally had the worst combination of events take place the other day:
So, I was running Firefly 3.0, and I planned on replacing it with a gingerbread ROM, (since my apps weren't saving data, for some reason), and I started to notice that my unlock button was starting to hang a bit. I thought this was just another side effect from Firefly 3.0 acting weird.
So, I boot to download, and flash the CM7 kernel with CWM 3.0 on it, and it passes.
The next step is to navigate around in CWM to install the ROM file before you can boot up. But, the power/lock button still doesn't work! So I'm stuck in CWM 3.0, unable to boot correctly. The touch buttons don't work like they do in CWM 2.x, so I'm... stuck.
So, I call Samsung, and I'm having a replacement sent to me within the week, since I can't even power on/off my phone (if it wasn't for CM7's auto-boot when you put the battery in)
So, already having adb installed on my Linux boot, I jump over there to send the adb reboot download command. All this does is reboot the phone "normally"!
What are my options here? I've already copied everything off my phone with adb, and I'm not afraid to use terminal commands to flash something usable just to get it back to stock before I send it back.
*cough*JIG * COUGH*

Would that work with CWM 3.0/CM7 Kernel? I've always had weird issues with plugging things in and it just booting up, even when my power button worked.
The jig should work...the only thing that would cause the cm7 kernel to boot when plugged in is if it was off and you were only trying to charge it. The jig just redirects some power into pin 4 telling the bootloader to initiate download protocol...kinda the same way your phone knows when its hooked to a mountable usb port and when its charging out of the wall or something.

I recently attempted a flash of fantasy II (2.3.5) captivate, and i got the bootload, and kernel installed and then installed the stock 2.3.5 rom to flash fantasy II over. . . . well after getting the stock rom, i found it had what i wanted, so i was going to stick with that.
i noticed about ten minutes after getting that rom, that my lock button was not working, and the phone would auto boot, i would pull the battery and put it back in and BOOM at&t boot screen right away, not one button pushed, I have bricked and unbricked my phone since then, and i am now simply running 2.1 stock, however; the dang lock button still does not respond at all, and it will auto boot still, is this the kernel or the bootloader? I know its not the rom now . . . . Please help this is awful!
and if you have a solution that i can download please post it!
Okay here are my problems:
I'm running a Nexus S - Rogers version (i9020AUCKE1)
My goal is to get to 2.3.6.
I can't connect via the USB anymore, whenever I try Windows says that it doesn't recognize the USB device. Mac doesn't say anything at all. I have tried turning USB debugging on (though I didn't before and it worked previously) - and I've tried multiple cables.
I can't install / update anything I've found so far through the recovery - everything I've tried fails signature validation.
I'm currently running this version:
Android 2.3.4/GTJ61/UCKE1 Radio/KA3 Bootloader
Unofficial, unsigned, must flash through ClockworkMod Recovery. Contains recovery, radio and bootloader.

My phone is unlocked and was previously rooted; though through a series of unfortunate events, I no longer have superuser access directly on the phone (though there is a superuser.zip on my sdcard) and I'm on stock recovery instead of clockwork.
What I'm hopeful to do, at this point, is to get super user access again, get Clockwork back on it and skip the signature validation so I can get it updated. But I haven't figured out a way to do it yet.
I tried z4root but when I tried to root it, the app started but closed itself after about 2 minutes and didn't seem to actually do anything.
Anyone have any ideas of what I can try?
update - I've tried Gingerbreak and it's just hanging on me - doesn't seem to work for either.
Also - I can't find the USB Settings anywhere. I'm wondering if that's my problem with the ROM - it doesn't have the proper USB settings.
Hi,
I got a similiar problem a few weeks ago and found a solution in the internet, that worked for me: Just shut down the phone, put the battery out for approx. a minute. Put it back in and boot, and try again.
I could not believe it, because I don't see the technical explaniation how this could solve this problem - but it did worked, and that is what counts.
Good luck
If your phone is unlocked download rom manager and flash cwm from the app. Do this just after a fresh boot of the phone. If cwm isn't there when you boot into recovery reboot the phone and again flash cwm from rom manager as soon as the phone boots. This time it should stick. From cwm flash superuser.zip and you are rooted again. Then just flash the rooted version of the update.
Normally I recommend flashing recovery from fastboot, but in your case rom manager is the only way to go.

ok i have a demo unit 32gb moto xoom that was on display at walmart until it was discontinued so now ive been trying to upgrade to cm9. it had stock 3.0.1 and a demo kernel so i rooted and flashed recovery with the Lordaio program and worked fine could do all of that normal but it wouldnt let me flash a rom, kept giving me a cannot mount sd card error all the time because i believe the demo rom/kernel was keeping the sd card from mounting while booted up but in cwm it would mount but wouldnt flash any roms still. so i flashed an old version of the timait kernel for 3.0.1 and it then let me flash cm9 but now wont boot up after the nexus like boot screen and if i hold power and vol up and reboot it and push vol down i get nvflash, fastboot and rsd none of with get me anywhere but fastboot make windows read the memory when i have a usb cable attached. but i cannot seem to get into recovery or anything else. while connected to usb the lordaio program wont go past the looking for attached devices screen unless i let it attempt to boot and then it says its disconnects before i can do anything like boot to recovery. any suggestions? fyi the only reason im doing this is because its likely mororola wont request it back at this point so its pretty much free for us here alought walmart will kill me if i were to try to take it or buy it lol
EDIT: solved! ok so i had to wait till it booted up and in adb type"c:\adb reboot recovery" and idk why i had to do it that way but low and behold it worked and fyi idk why but the cm9 nightly didnt work so i used this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437358
I have a sl101. I only get eeepad screen. My son did something to the machine. I can get it to say booting recovery but nothing happens. I also can get a text that says cold booting Linux. Again nothing happens. Nvflash says USB write fail. But when I check adb the device is recognized. Is there a way for me to adb push a recovery in there for me to boot too, so I can reflash a rom. I have a little dilema here. I also was wondering if I can flash rom thru adb. I read once that's how they used to do it on g1. I don't know if I am speaking accurately though. Any kind of light shed on me will be greatly appriciated

not sure about the slider but i had a customer return yesterday with this exact issue on the tf101 and i couldnt get out of it. the tf just kept switching itself back on and getting stuck on the splash screen.
found this set of instructions but im not sure if its what you need or if it will work:
http://androidroot.mobi/technical/asus-eee-pad-transformer-tf101-root-cwm-recovery/
good luck
That is exactly what is going on with mine. The slider is basicly the same thing. I plug it in and I tries to boot. I thought you had to be booted into recovery or the rom for adb to work? That's why I believe this method you just revealed to me. Or some variation of it will work. I will be trying shortly.

nvflash if your TF101 is compatible model.. (must B60 and below).
Or read Wolf's thread HERE. It might helped everyone here..
Thanks but everything needs adb connexion and as apx is not working, i can't connect ADB..
I have a B50 model
Nobody have a clue ?
well, I have to send it back to my reseller that will change it but before that I need to delete clockwork mode or brick it, how can i do ?
I tried every thread here, update rom does nothing, looks like it does not write anything on the tablet
Thanks in advance
try to follow this procedure...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25636698&postcount=5
let me know
Hello, thanks, but as I can't get to apx mode, I can't use nvflash, so still stuck with my recovery, I tried to modify super Wipe package to do things but can't get through...
If someone can make a package to delete recovery, then I can try it on my tablet, I really yneed it to be bricked cause now it load with Rogue's recovery on and on, so the reseller will new it has been modified and I will have to pay to get it back ...
Thanks in advance
with the procedure posted in the previous link you don't need APX mode and don't need NVflash...
Just boot your TF in recovery mode and plug it to your pc...
remove all previous drivers and install the new one that you can find in the post
ciao
ps... at the end of the procedure you will have your TF101 with stock rom and stock recovery
I will try but even when I am on recovery, nothing appears in Hardware management, no recognition from My computer, still strange... And when I power + vol down key, It never says to presse vol up in the text in the upper left corner, just says booting linux kernel...
When I try to boot pressing vol up + power, nothing happens, not even the clics that can be heard when it powers up...
I had a similar issue when I used SuperWipe and discovered my ROM on the external SD Card could not be accessed by CWM
I tried pushing the file with adb but kept receiving errors - protocol, etc. I suspected it was a driver issue along with the fact that 64 bit systems don't always play nicely with drivers. I actually dug up an old hard drive and did a very basic install of 32bit Win7. I booted the Transformer into CWM and when I connected it to my PC - I pointed it to the universal naked driver. I was then able to successfully push the rom to internal storage and used CWM to flash it
Hello,
I tried to connect my tablet to an old Windows 2000, but still nothing happens
Hello every one, I finally sendt back my transformer to my reseller, now I can buy a new one...
Thanks again
Okay Guys and Gals!
Now comes a mess.
Prestory: I was kinda disappointed by the performance of the stock 4.0 ICS and wanted to try out 4.2 or at least 4.1.
So I went flashing 4.2 and it didn't worked flawlessly. My Power button is somehow broken. I don't know if it's a hardware problem or software. Anyhow, I tried 4.1 and it didn't work aswell. My final conclusion was to send it back to ASUS to repair it. Of course not with a modded OS, so my goal was to flash the stock 4.0 again. Here, the trouble began.
I followed this manual [UNROOT]The easiest unrooting method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1527931&highlight=status+7) and had a Status 7 error. One post assumed that it might be the TWRP (or so) Recovery and to try out a stock CWM.
So I downloaded the latest CWM which causes another trouble, because I downloaded the nonTouch version without possesing a dock. Well. After I got a dock I just thought: Thats it. Nope. When I try to flash a .zip from the SD Card it says, that it can't mount the SD card. So, that seems to be a dead end. I managed to install an older CWM (.13 i think) via ROM Manager but this one can't mount the SD either. The SD is accesible when the tablet is connected to the PC and through ASTRO File Manager.
I also tried Windows Tools like Easy Flasher (which fails because I can't enter APX mode for some reason), 1-Click Transformer Root (which seems to abort because of 4.1.2?) and OneClickrecovery (which also fails)
Some Infos: B40
Currently running on Cyanogen Mod 10-20130131_UNOFFICIAL-tf101 4.1.2
Well, I'm sure I forgot to mention a thousand things, so please ask.
And pleaaaase help me. The Tablet is right now pretty much useless to me and I'm really starting to miss using it.
So if you have any ideas?!
Regards from Germany, Michele
I would first try to reseat the power button by opening the device. That seems to fix the button issues for some. Then give easyflasher another try.
Or, keep trying to go into APX. It's tricky since the device doesn't appear powered on unless you have leaks on your screen, but just keep trying. Eventually you will hear the USB sound of your computer detecting it. Make sure you have the APX drivers installed too.
OK, if you have a recovery that will boot, you can try using PERI to flash Rogue Touch recovery.
The EASIEST way to flash back to stock IMO is this: http://www.transformerforums.com/fo...frederuco-s-guide-flash-tf101-back-stock.html
You can use CWM recovery to flash the stock firmware as well.
Keep in mind, if your tablet is OFF, you can hold VOL UP and then plug in the USB cord to your PC to enter APX mode (plugging it in will trigger the power on).
Same thing to enter recovery manually, hold VOL DOWN, plug in, then hit VOL UP when prompted to enter recovery.
