I'm using CM10.2 Alpha 3. I keep getting random reboots when my cell is not on charging. Because of this, the battery drain is heavy. On charging, everything works and there are no random reboots. Somebody plz help!

My battery is more than a year old.
I flashed CM10 and now again its working nicely. Were the reboots because of kernel 3.0?

maybe, mine is 2 years old and have same problems.. soon I will get new one and see if the battery is the problem.
My SL battery is almost two years old. Suddenly it started acting strange and unpredictable. I calibrated the battery and started using battery saving apps. Still going on strong.

Try upgrading to Alpha 4 to see if you still have the issue
Done that. Now it switches off on its own after 10 minutes if not on charging.
I'm using cm 10.2 A3 for a month now, for the first two or three days my ,i faced more reboots.. But is OK after a week .... Actually just picked up some calls and some charting, Changing themes,..... But when i uninstall an app.. (Everytime) it reboots..

I was having the same issue with my battery meter sticking. The same time this happens, my Setcpu app also was sticking and would full throttle the cpu. Im running the VirusRom right now, but have experienced this problem on a few of the other Roms also. My usual fix was just wipe everything and go with new install. It started happening again last night and I followed some posters advice to let the battery totally drain and then shutoff. I then recharged to full and everything seems to be fine again.
The first time it ever started happening was right after I had wiped the battery cache and rebooted. Ive stopped doing that now, but it still happens. I notice now that I usuallly experience this after a series of reboots. Not sure whats up, but draining the battery to zero helped out last night. We'll see in a day or two if it starts happening again.

Im actually done with ROMs until CM7 is ready. Im just going with a base rooted system and Ill use a custom kernel. Kernel is 99% of the improvement anyway.
Draining works for a day or so, then it does the same thing. I'm stock and it does it. It also does it with the stock battery. Hope they get it fixed with an update.

Right but my problem was/is the meter never changing. I think I fixed it by completely draining the battery and charging to full. Maybe the phone didnt know how much juice it had because of the different size battery.

Look in your battery stats and see what is draining the battery.
I know there are a few ROMs that have the 'android os' power drain bug. I don't know the cause or whether a solution is being worked on. It seems the core of many of the ROMs are based on the same things. Kernels, modems, etc.
If it's the android os draining your battery start airplane mode, and then turn it off. Everything should go back to normal.... at least for a day or two.
I've run Zeus and JB-paranoid android. both has this issue. When i ran CM9 i didnt seem to have problems.
If it is not an issue for you, then upgrade to the latest build.
The one you are running is almost a month old now, so a lot of development has occured since then, specially at Scott's pace.
I don't guarantee it will solve your issues.. maybe it is one of your apps. But it definitely would not hurt to update, plus i'm pretty sure you will enjoy it

That's a joke right? 1% in 5 hours of standby is great battery life...think of it this way at that rate it would take 500 hours of standby to die...that's 20 days of standby!
Btw...official specs are 400 hours of standby...so your way above normal in a good way
Edit...think I might've mis read your reply...is the 1% drain when its running good? And what your complaining about is when it drains faster cause of android os?
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using Tapatalk 2
Maybe slightly less than 1% per 5 hours. However, it was that good. I mean I got replacement phone week ago. So it is brand new battery.
But I'm still having that problem.. Android OS drains **** tons of battery. If I restart the phone, it solves problem for a day. I wonder if there is any permanent fix...
thank you

ive seen that reflashing and doing a full wipe, seems to fix this problem 3/5 times. the 4th person usually has a bad download of the rom while the 5th person has figured out the problem on their end.

I think this might be what you're experiencing. I've noticed a ~%20 continual usage by system_service on multiple JB ROMs not just PA whenever auto-rotate is on. Try turning it off.

Any ICS or JB ROMs will use more battery than older builds of android. Its one of the small prices to pay with all the great new features. I carry a charger with me at all times. I'm going to get a larger replacement backup battery and I won't even worry about drainage after that

Here is my batter use:
I do look into my apps and find the application Facebook likes to activate even when I don't open it.
Here's my apps that are running as well:
I would love to find a solution for stable battery life. On a good day my phone will drain 30% over a 8 hour period with moderate use. I consider that pretty good.

but in most cases it works now with random reboots
when the battery doesn't fit correctly with the pins and loses connection with them

I dont understand you. This fix is for fixing random reboots. Its not too hard to understand.
Maybe you are too young...
Hi guys, I jsut want to share my experience about random reboots...For about 4 month I had this problem with every rom I tried, changed battery but nothing so I sent my device to HTC and they changed motherboard; when they sent it back, problem wasn't solved but after a couple of week I had a clean install of inspiration without restoring my backups via TitaniumBackup (I erased them)...since then no more random reboots with any rom I tried...I just want to say that if this hardware method doesn't fix reboots, consider corrupted app backups
Had random reboots either, by replacing the battery with was 2 years old with an anker suddenly the problems dissapeared all. This trick shouldn't help really but yeah thanks.

Buy an Anker battery, especially if your stock one is ~2 years soon.
Also adjust CPU clock speeds and use apps like Greenify.
Stop flooding the development thread !
u got the General and the Troubleshooting
but this one is Fu&^%$ Sacred
I confirm it worked for my Sensation 4G with even Anker 1900mah. Months ago I used original battery then had random reboots. I bought the anker 1900mah battery, the problem went out a couple of days ( maybe because Anker is a bit bigger than original battery), however later it returned... so I searched for many solution and saw this... I tried with my anker and now for 6 months I have had no more random reboots...

I had my Sensation XE sent in for repairs (Volume button fell off). The shop lend me a Sensation XL. That thing had crazy random reboots. And I fixed it by wedgeing in a piece of folded paper between the battery top and the phone. Only because you could almost slide the battery around in its "seat".
Now I have an unorginal battery for my Sensation. Its a little bit taller and wider, I almost have to force it in. Thats way im sure the few reboots I have are kernel / rom related.

I've had some random power off, I suspected it's battery probelm because the phone didn't reboot, it just shut down. I've put a little piece of paper between the battery and the housing several days ago and it didn't happen since. Simple but effective, at least for me.

The HTC Sense phones display battery usage a lot differently from the stock Android phones. They specifically minimize the battery usage of the screen which is almost always your biggest drain.
