You can't. Google Search is sort of the launcher itself, notice that you can't disable it. The "Launcher" is just an addon for Google Search and required it to work.

Okay, I just wasn't sure I had understood that correctly when I read it earlier today. I'll see if i can live with it or I'll go back to Nova. Thanks!

I suggest just use a custom launcher, you can always access Google Now by swiping up from the Home button.

[Q] How to turn off this Google shortcut?

Hi guys,
do you know how to turn off this shortcut?
I am not sure if it comes with Nova Launcher, or something else, but I've searched through Google settings & Nova Launcher settings and couldn't find that
Any ideas? It's totally useless for me, but often open google when I doesn't need that.
Screenshot it attachment.

Gravitybox lets you disable it
I have Paranoid Android installed, not all functions in GravityBox work for me.
But just to check it - which one and where, because I've also looked there...

I don't use PA at the moment but I'm pretty sure in settings there is an option that let's you change navbar targets.

[Q] Removing the Google Now Search widget

This is going to sound trivial to a lot of you, but i really don't like the Now search widget parked on each of my desktops. On the Now screen, it's fine, but I like seeing my home screen wallpaper.
In KitKat, there used to be a setting to remove this from other screens, but I can't seem to find it in Lollipop. Anyone know if I'm missing it somewhere, or is this one of those things we have to wait for in the next update?
Did you look in google settings? I'm pretty sure its there.

They might have removed it, not sure. But since Xposed isn't available on Lollipop right now, you have to completely disable google now or use a custom launcher.

For the record, I never used Xposed on KitKat. All I know was that I was able to remove the widget from the center and right home pages, either through a drag and delete or through a setting on the phone. I've dug through all the settings and can't seem to find it. Maybe I'll check my wife's phone later, since she hasn't installed the update on hers yet.

You can use nova launcher and use the "OK Google" command on any screen with out having the search bar/google now. I use that.

Quick app search for launcher?

I am coming from Nexus 6p and really liked holding the drawer icon to bring up the keyboard allowing me to search for the app I wanted. I can't seem to do that on the new launcher, any ideas?

Use the search bar. It includes apps when you type in it.

Not nearly the same, on the old launcher since it only filtered apps you didn't have to type nearly as much. Sometimes only one character. With the search bar I often find myself having to type almost the whole app name.

Please post a screenshot of this option in launcher setting. Thanks
I also have Google feed enabled and didn't found any option in launcher settings to change or disable it.
I would like to know how to turn this on as I also just have some smart assistant thing when I swipe across.
I've changed to Action Pixel launcher to get the Google feed enabled but I feel that none of the launchers i've tried so far are as smooth or responsive as the stock ColorOS launcher.

Yes, i'm sure. But I think it may depend on the operator's branding. My phone is branded for Vodafone, perhaps Oppo does some things on their request.
Can you pleas show us the feed?

In this whole thread is just one Picture. One of a home screen with a Google searchbar.
No Google feed so far.

Very curious to find out if installing the launcher version from devices with Google Feed will enable it on devices without Google Feed. Can someone with one of these regional/branded devices check the version number of their launcher?
On certain Huawei phones it was possible to enable the feed by ADB disabling HiBoard. Unfortunately disabling Oppo's feed with ADB does not enable the Google Feed.
The version number is visible in the screenshot in the attachment.
..i have color os version 7.2 (11_A.30) and google feed is only available as a choice (option) in smart assistant settings, simply swiping from left to right opens assistant and you have to choose ( predefined ) from settings ( icon on the top right hand side )
Having the same trouble. Clueless here. Anyone had the same issue and fixed it? Oppo A72 here on Android 10 coloros 7.1
Switched off the Google news feed but when I swipe from left to right, I still have Google but its blank.. anyway.of changing it to another app or switching it off completely?
Hi,
I found a way to "disable" the Google feed without installing another launcher.
If you hide the Google App in the Privacy Settings, when you swipe left, nothing happens. The icon at the bottom which indicates how many pages there are is still visible but honestly it doesn't bother me much.
Hopefully, Oppo will add the option to hide the Google Feed page.
Cheers
