Here are some screenshots. The only ISSUE i see is if you are on Wifi and try to send or receive a MMS, it will not send or download until wifi is turnt OFF. Everythign else works fine, SMS, MMS, Hangouts messaging, Android to iphone sms/mms. Just need to make sure if you are sending a mms or receiving it, if you are on wifi, they will no work until you disconnect

Nice background.
I was looking for the new hangouts and the Google Experience Launcher.
I'll give it a try
How's the Active notifications and the 'Ok Google Now' working after the Play services/Launcher/google now update?

Not rooted, so I cant write to system

Couldn't get the clock to work (even with the renaming of the old clock and clearing data after installing the new one).
Other than that, and that isn't your fault, great collection...thanks for posting!

Hey guys, I'm having some pretty serious problems. I'm PWNMYMOTO rooted and not OTA updated (VZW), just for context's sake..
Hangouts and Keyboard work fine, but I am having issues with Play Services, Home, Now, and the launcher. The Play store and every Internet-connected app other than Chome won't connect to the network. My assumption is that this is a problem with Play Services. The launcher works fine but Now doesn't open with my voice.

I installed uninstalled Play services from Root Explorer, then installed the new version after moving it in with Android File Transfer. I installed it, used RE to move Velvet.apk to system/app, (sidebar - what are the correct permissions for this? OP says "fix permissions"), then installed Home, moved the lib file, and rebooted. Just like it says.

Thanks

No the dialer depends on too much of the KitKat OS. Most likely wont be getting that working as a separate app.

the keyboard doesnt show the full list of emojis, its not even in black and white on 4.1.2 it only shows a limited list i have attached the screenshot... in hangouts it works just fine... i can select all the different emojis...

cool thanx for confir.
I'm not sure if I am just doing something wrong, but when I push this to my N1 on CM 6.0 it does make the Facebook widget black however when I open it up it is the old version and not the latest (1.3.2 i think) it is running v. 1.2. Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong? If I go to Market and update it, it seems to make the widget go back white.

Deinstall fb & twitter, restart and flash again..
Thanks that worked. Although I couldn't seem to figure out deleting twitter but the facebook delete worked using adb. The twitter was already the latest version anyway so I won't worry about it, but last question... Will deleting google voice and reinstalling the apk you provide also give me the widget? right now I don't even have a widget, or is that for an upcoming release of google voice with a widget?
Thanks again!
Yeah, deinstall (or adb shell rm ....) and flash it. You will get the latest with widget

Try rebooting if that don't work go to settings/applications then find those apps clear cache remove user data then force stop then go to accounts and do it from there I had the same problem the other day so I know what you are saying.

did you delete the previous one? what I usually do is change the one in the system already is add an .bak at the end of .apk (vending.apk.bak) as to keep it there for a back up and make sure when you move over the other one make sure to correct permissions. Not sure if you tried that yet but if not, give it a go and it should do the trick.
Also when you move it over, do you have system as rewritable? (obviously you need to be rooted to so ) if you are make sure that you gave permission on the file explorer that your using. If all that fails, I can make one for you if you like.
Z
I saved original apk on my SD-card and replaced it in /system/app with the black themed one with root explorer and rebootet and fixed permissions, but always the original market opens again, though there is no apk in /system/app. cant explain that

what you do, is go in to the app ( as if you were going to uninstall it ) and then stop , clear cache, clear data, swap out the apk and reboot in recovery wipe/ clear delvic/cache and that should do the trick . happened to me once before and got it to work that way.
Z
I normally replace the apk files in the ROM prior to flash.
Had no problem with Gmail, Drive, Youtube. But try as I can, just cannot get "Talk" to work.
Since I replace apks before flashing ROMS, I cannot use the one from Jules as that require a flash and a flash of "Part 2" as well. It does work that way, but not if I replace the original talk.apk with the one from his 1st zip file or 2nd.
The one by bradman117, just refuse to work for me ... whatever way I try, including flashing it separately.
Anyone know of any other "Talk" versions available that has full functionality?
Thanks

Because it was updated before you replaced it, so there's an apk (it might be called Phonesky, or Play depending) in data/app of the white market which overrides the one in system/app. You need to remove that one as well for the inverted app to show up.

Ive seen a couple of ICS based , inverted or what you ever wish to call it but it does break mms. Other then that, it looks great! Trust me, your not the only one searching for this, I've been at it for 4 weeks and have yet to find one that does not make phone loop ( on boot ) or one that will actually send mms along w/ regular text. Please if anybody has any info, please chime in , it would be greatly appreciated!!

Yeah I installed and I don't see the icon I saw for it in various sites..only thing I see is some stuff in Google sync
same no icon, no difference.
Re: Icon
If you want to see the new activities you have to make shortcuts to them with your custom launcher (I use Nova). It doesn't do anything yet though since none of the developers are using the API yet. The new sync settings are quite interesting though.
The icon can only be seen if use a launcher like NOVA as its just an background activity displayed as shortcut/widget in this supported home screen (States this in the Android Police article). The game services are hidden and will work with supported Google market games when they are supported too (None are support yet as far as i know yet but could be wrong).
EDIT -

Hello,
I can't connect to the new services of Google Play Games with any games, I tried SuperStickMan Golf 2 and some more and all are left with a white screen (loading) until the sign in fails ("unknown error").

CM 11 Circles

Attached a KitKat version of the "Circles" package, you have to use Motorola Launcher for circles. These are taken from Droid MAXX kitkat. Some modifications:
- Launcher modded to fit better on Photon Q
- Circles are Droid MAXX version, chagned to show analog clock
Note that Motorola launcher is very like Jellybean, even in KitKat.

I prevented the two google "quicksearchbox" receivers from autostarting, but it disabled the google now widget not the search bar on top of the launcher.. then went ahead and tried freezing google search widget in Titanium backup just to see if it had any effect.. It makes the "Google" lettering and the microphone go away, but the grey box remains where it is.. I'll live with it, but thanks for your tips..

Did anyone ever figure out how to get it to work with ART? would be interresting to know, if the "native" KitKat builds e.g. Moto X, G etc work on ART with the Moto stock launcher.. Could we maybe extract those?
can anyone think of a reason why the skin apk wont install, it jjust tries to instal an ends up 'failed to instal' im on cm11, unlocked and rooted with the rings working just fine

AOSP Google Dialer and People apps

Hi Everyone,
if anyone is interested, you can get both aosp google dialer and people app to work on the G3. Here's how:
1. Download the zip
2. extract the files to your phone (sd card)
3. with a root explorer, copy them over to system/
4. set proper permissions (644) on both files
5. copy these files over to system/priv-app/ from system/
6. rename LGContacts.apk to LGContacts.apk.bak (or change the extension of the file to anything)
Blacked out dialer and contacts app - thanks for the findings, @Kameirus
The blacked out Google dialer is made by Thyrus here at XDA
And not sure who did the blacked out contacts/people apk..I found it in one of my phone modding folders
Install instructions are the same as above.

Wow thanks! I'll be curious to see if this works flawlessly for others before I try it myself. Those are the last two apps I need to change to get back to the AOSP feel, aside from "Settings" of course.

Tried this and was unable to get the phone or contacts apps to show
Same here no go
Hope someone figures it out
thats an easy fix..will look into it later on..im still using the same apks from my old n5
Did you guys use the files I provided? Did you rename it? The LGcontacts app to have different extension? It's important because it has the same package name as Google contacts and therefore Google 's contacts app won't show up.
for those who dont know..u need to create a shortcut activity for googlephone by using a launcher like nova..apex..etc

Well, thanks but I didn't need that and checked on stock launcher and they do show up both... Is it possible that it's due to different system languages? U can also try to rename the extension of the LG phone up (dialer), see if that works.

thats because u got it working..im talking about to those who cant get this working..a solution would be to use nova launcher because it allows u to run a specific activity within the app

yeah, i understand that, but if it works on my system, it should on others as well that was my point
would not advise to rename lg phone app, as I did and got into an endless "com.android.phone" process stop. contacts app works though but phone app does not show on stock launcher.

U need a deodexed Google dialer app.
Just install the google dialer with proper permissions and then hide the LG phone app in your drawer. Did this a week ago cause I missed my dialer from running PA on my G2. Also OP is that the 4.4.4 dialer? Cause android police had the older dialer up when I downloaded it. Had to rip the one outta the PA G2 rom I ran on my G2.
Also I am using nova launcher an do not have to create a shortcut. Just put the icon on my home screen and it opens up just fine.

So does this work? I got the Google dialer installed a few weeks ago but frankly hated it, could never get it to do what I wanted. Long press a contact to edit? No go. Plus all it did was launch the LG dialer in the end. If this fully replaces the LG dialer I Amy give it another try.
Phone shortcut didn't appear in the drawer for me, but I was able to add it to the stock launcher with "Activity Launcher" from the play store.
In the app, All activities -> Google dialer -> Phone (DialtactsActivity)

Any chance you got out of the infinite bootloop without having to flash the stock ROM? If you did let me know how. Thanks!

Yes, and it was a nightmare, took about 20 min. Reboot phone, and with one hand keep hiring the Ok button of the error message and with the other hand try navigating the menus one by one. Go to system /priv-app/.
Find LG phone app, lgteleservice or something like that, click it, install it, then I used room toolbox pro to convert it to user app and set permissions 644. Reboot and got out of loop. And then quickly renamed back the apk.
All the best and good luck.
This worked for me! All works good!!! I had some activities widget already on my F400s and it let me add the dialer.
Looks same as my Nexus 5 now! And finally got rid of the Korean on the stock dialer.
Happy! Thanks to the OP!
