Hello,
I'm currently trying to root my A510 Tablet with 4.1 Jelly Bean. I tried this Tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35907925&postcount=192
I copied the remove_recovery_from_rom.zip in the internal storage. Unlocked the bootloader and installed recovery_nothrills.img.
Now I'm on step 6 trying to install the remove_recovery_from_rom.zip. But if I go to "apply update from external storage" I only see "../". I think the problem is that I runned an full wipe before flashing the zip. And I think there is no way to get the zip from the external sd card?
What can I do now? Hope you understand me and have help.
Greetings from Germany
EDIT: Problem solved, Could boot the stock JB 4.1 and copied the file to the internal sd card. Now I have root access and can look for a nice ROM

Hi folks,
I might have a stupid noob question, but not able to find the answer.
I got a Motorola Xoom (EU), and I did root it the other day.
All working fine.
Now I get update notifications for 3.1, but I'm not able to install the stock update.
After the reboot, the Android logo is showing an error, and then it reboots to normal OS.
Now the question is, all instructions I found so far require an external SD Card to get a custom rom with 3.1/3.2 installed.
Is a SD card required, or can I get the same done via USB debug?
Thanks for looking at this thread.
Regards,
derchris

You need a custom version of ClockworkMod Recovery made for the Xoom. You can flash the solarnz R4c v3.2.0.0 that does require a micro sdcard (even a 2GB is fine) which will appear at mnt/external1, or you can go with Rogue recovery that will let you flash from internal storage (mnt/sdcard) or other options. It's up to you but you must be able to flash the recovery image file through adb/fastboot, since you can't flash a zip file through fastboot.
Thanks for the reply,
I used this thread to install recovery-Tiamat-R4c-100611-1150-cwm.img, as they had a recovery image file for adb/fastboot.
Looking through the options, I see a "mount USB storage" option, but I ended up in only having a 3 MB drive, and as soon as I exited the menu the drive was gone too.
Do you happen to know a download for an adb/fastboot image of the Rogue Recovery?
I don't have a single SD Card, thats why I would like to use USB or internal memory.

You would have to go to that thread and see if there is an option for initial install via img file. I haven't used Rogue, so I don't know.
I figured it out myself
There was an img file inside the zip, which I was able to flash to the Xoom.
Next I used Tiamat Xoom Rom 2.2.2 "Moray" from the internal memory, and have now 3.2.1 on my Xoom.
Thanks for the help
My pleasure.

External Sdcard
I have an a700 with a 16 gig external sd card. I formatted it on my laptop fat32 and it has worked fine. I have since started piddling with roms and registered rom manager. I tried to use RM to download and install a new rom. I am currently using Evil Alex v 2 with no problem. I kept getting an error - unable to mount SD card - over and over. I have tried to use recovery to mount and format the sdcard with no go - unable to mount. After some research i decided to remove the existing partition on the card thinking that would do it. Same errors. Now the sd card is not even seen by the tablet - which I fully understand because I wiped the partitions. My question is is there a guide to walk me through setting up the sdcard to where I can use rom manager to backup / install roms from? I do not have access to my laptop now and was hoping I could do it on the tablet.
Thanks in advance...

I have a Acer Iconia A700 stuck in a boot loop. To my best knowledge, it is not rooted. I have tried to install "firmware updates" and nothing has worked. I kept getting errors when I did 'Apply Update from External Storage'. It has stock recovery.
Hi,
I'm running an Transformer TF101 with Clockwork Mod Recovery v5.8.3.4.
However some time ago I removed the zip file with the ROM from within the SD Card memory space - that of course being actually the internal 16GB of storage and not a MicroSD.
Since I cannot boot into any ROM and I haven't got a zip file with my ROM on my Internal Storage, what do I have to do to install a ROM back onto my transformer. It seems that unless I boot into the ROM itself (which by the looks of things has been wiped) I cannot access the internal memory storage.
Please help. How do I fix this and make it running again?
I have a very similar issue. I can boot to the ROM but there doesn't seem to be a launcher so throws up a load of errors.
Essentially I cannot access any external memory in the ROM or recovery so need the same instructions.
Cheers

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1688012 Follow the instructions in this thread. This will completely wipe your device and bring it back to stock no matter what SBK version of TF you have. You can then also choose to install a custom recovery as well as root it all from right here. Then you can install a custom rom back on. I also recommend using a recovery that uses the internal storage or external as it is much safer. You can always take out the SD, put a rom on it, replace it and boot into recovery. Much easier than using Easy Flash.

Greetings one and all, nanu nanu!
I'm having problems insofar that after installing rom my internal memory shows up as only 48MB, I've reinstalled the firmware from scratch ie. reverted back JB via an RUU (hboot 2.15.), then flashing custom recovery then following procedures outlined to upgrade to 2.16. blah blah blah but when I go to copy the rom a second time to internal it shows up as 48mb!
I wan't able to download the firmware or recovery from first post ( missing files) so used alternatives coming from Maximus HD.
A re upoad of the firmware & recovery .zip would be welcomed.
One thing I didn't do is install radio 1.35... (but that shouldn't cause this problem? as the new radio is optional, right?).
Any help would be very much appreciated?
Anyone???
I've tried installing radio 1.35b as a process of elimination but no joy. When I install v 4.6.13 there is no problem. I read something about a 'vold' / framework mismtach but again niether of these options worked.
I've noticed that the internal storage mounted is a different partition, even after a full wipe, then restore via RUU, then installing firmware etc from stratch the same partition is being mounted.
Pulling my hair out on this one, really could do with some help. :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:

P.S: Why is the image verification so frigging impossible!
Hello, so I unlocked the Bootloader of my HTC One Mini and installed TWRP as recovery and put the superuser zip in my internal storage to root my phone.
The problem is, when i go to recovery to install the zip it says "Storage : Internal Storage (262mb)" and all the folders that i see don't correspond to my internal storage so I can't find the zip anywhere.
I'm new to this and I hope one of you can help me.
Thanks.
I'm sorry for posting this, I found the solution after
