Long time Nexus owner, soon to be Black 32GB, and, YES, the 5 is an IPS and not AMOLED just like the 4, and provides no advantage over a colored super fun awesome wallpaper. The original thread above is where two weird traditions started, one is using pure black wallpaper on every Nexus device I purchase.
I know it's weird and insane and I have no scientific data to back my claim but I have never had a Nexus fail me after doing two rituals.
Anyone want a take a shot? How deep dark black can you get it?
1) Open Paint
2) Create new file (dimensions 1080x1920)
3) Select 'Fill' tool
4) Select black from the color palette
5) Click on the image
6) Save
It took me longer to type that out on my phone than it would be to create if I were at the computer. Seriously?

I really wouldn't matter because it's pure black Lmao. Could be 25x20 pixels and it would still fill the entire screen with black.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. I could have done it myself, like one of the posts above said, but it would have broken tradition and superstition.

Hi all,
Didn't see a wallpaper thread for our qHD Sensations, so I thought I'd start one. First off, a wall that I just downloaded from the Atrix 4G that I think looks fantastic on the Sensation (better than HTC's walls, IMO).
Keep the wallpapers to a minimum of 540x960, please. 1080x960 for those who aren't using Sense.
I go with my tried & true fluorescence from Digital Blasphemy or just about any wallpaper from that site
taken when I got my HD2
Here's mine...

That's exactly the wall that I had on my PC when I met my wife...she asked if I was a stoner (it would make more sense if she asked if I did shrooms, hah).
This site has some pretty good wallpapers, you just have to crop it a little since they are for the iPhone.
Made this for myself , just love how dock and not-bar blend with it.
Great thread!
Was just looking for a thread like this so thanks for starting one!
Here is one of my favorites in both 540x960 and 1080x960.
if i view the page on my phone, how do i set some of these images as my wallpaper?
thanks

I always use the XDA app. Not sure if a long press can immitate a right click on the device, but give it a try. Otherwise, view the thread with the XDA app or transfer the wall to your device via USB.
Edit: Just tried it out, simply press the image, it will open the larger version, then long press and select save image.

thanks for the help. i had to open the image in a new window first as it kept disappearing for some reason.
thanks again
poolga.com/ and tseventy.com/ have some very cool and original wallpapers, they are for the iphones resolution but can be cropped to suit the sensation screen.

I always end up going back to this one. Looks great centered when using Sense.
Some more of my favorites. Resolution is a little smaller (was for my Vibrant), but they are high res enough to not be very noticeable if at all.
And more...
Last one for now...
just downloaded half of these walls thanks all! the HD Wallpapers app has some decent ones, but these are better
Here are some of the wallpapers I use, enjoy!
And some more.

Here is my attempt at making some splashscreens. These are going to be basic till I get back into the swing of doing some these. Just remember to rename to PC36IMG.zip and place at the root of your sd card. And boot into recovery, and when it finds file push volume "up" button to select update.

Hello, i would like to know if you could make a custom splashscreen for me.
id like it to be the attached angel picture but in the center at the very bottom, id like it to read HTC Supersonic in attached font and color, size 14. Thank you!
Can u make these into splash screens please? Just make them centered to fit the screen. Cut the sides if needed. The second one from the top right cornered till it fits the screen. Thanks a lot!

Ok, I'm sure that it's not only me having this issue, but
I'm trying to install the CleanROM 3.0 Wallpaper and any time that I do, it crops it and turns all pixelated. I've noticed this with any wallpaper I try to set that's not a system wallpaper.. is there any way to fix this??
I'm currently Running CleanROM DE 3.1
but i've noticed this on pretty much every ROM i've ran
here is the wallpaper
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27624455&postcount=24
I've actually spent yesterday figuring out how to do this in a super roundabout way.
I put the wallpapers I want into CleanROM 3.0 SE ROM itself. I edited the ROM zip file with 7-zip, inserted the background I wanted in the correct location and performed a full data wipe. Then I flashed it to the phone.
And walla, it works... I now have the 2 wallpapers I want in full resolution.
I'm sure there is an app that can put a full resolution wallpaper in your phone for you. I just never looked... lol
We had a similar problem with the HP Touchpad and a guy made an app on the play store to remedy it (here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwxLDEsImNvbS5raGFubmluZy50cHdwYXBwbGllciJd)
Unfortunately it only works with the Touchpad's resolution, though if someone made an app to support our resolution then it would work fine.
Just resize it when you select the wallpaper. Touch the opposing corners on the crop box and drag to make it bigger.

this is by far the best app ive found

I've been using Zedge to set my wallpaper. When I set it through the app, it doesn't seem to lose quality, but if I try setting it through Sense from the downloaded picture, it does lose some quality.
Look up "dodol wallpaper" in the playstore. I set some pretty damn high quality photos as my wallpaper. Always amazes people!
I use an app call wallpaper set and save. It will keep the resolution of the image you are setting as the wallpaper.
In Cyanogenmod, what resolution do you need for the wallpaper to fit the maximum border sizes?

Well, the Skyrocket has a screen resolution of 480 x 800, so an image with those dimensions should fill up your screen background perfectly. Is this what you were asking?
Somewhat. Whenever I try and use a wallpaper it shows the landscape and portrait view borders and I can never get it to go over that. Is there a way to get around that or am I stuck with it?

In a program like MS Paint you can make a large image (any color, black would probly be best), then paste the image you want as your wallpaper in the center.
Maybe make the new image that is 1440x2400 and just paste the wallpaper dead center. Thats what I did for the tablet I used to have an it worked pretty well.
If you have an OS other than windows I'd use Gimp.
Thanks! Never thought of that. Wish there was a much lazier way lol.

nope, none on the right on my 4 pics, the blue on the left,or the white on the bottom, depends on which pic.
I cant see your pic and guessing no one sees mine
OK, what you are seeing is normal. On some apps and screens, its a notification that you cannot swipe further. I think apple called it some sort of rubber band and android had it switch to a different way of this notification due to patent issues.

Well, the white effect from the top and bottom in most apps, and the blue effect on the sides in the Gallery are a design feature of Android. Just like how iOS has its bounce back effect, Android has this 'holo' thing going for it.

wow,I have been using my HTC one s for a year and a half, and my daughters htc one,and my neighbors nexus 7,and have never seen it.It is really prominent on my phone and fugly...it looks broken, haha, like a speaker magnet sucking my TV screen...can I disable it?
That's because the HTC One S and One run the HTC Sense skin, and don't even run a stock Google OS.
I came from the One S myself... radio broke badly after a failed Maxiums 10 install.
The "glow" is new, kinda weirded me out at first but I've got used to it.
Thank you everyone, every thread has it's good and bad points.
Good point...phone is not broken and I don't have to send it back.
Good point...I have 10 posts so links and pictures will be easier, lol.
Bad point....Realized I am stuck with this ugly feature on my phone...
Time to learn some customizing.
peace
Looks like whatever rom you are running has the old xhdpi calculator from ics/jb judging by the grey bars on the side of the screen. So you have both ICS blue holo and the new white kit kat over scroll glow at the same time. #blametheromdev

Ok, I was wrong on the rom. But you did something to the phone to cause the issue. True stock doesn't look like that. Perhaps an LCD density change that you did?
