Hi Everyone,
I recently update my sony xperia L to 4.2.2 via pc companion.
After the 4.2 update, when I try to pull down the notification bar with two fingers to display an extended notification icons similar to the one in xperia C and M. The extended notification s aren't displayed. And the pulling down of the notification bar stops working further after that and I have to restart the phone to make the pull down notification to work again.
have any of you encountered the same problem after the 4.2.2 update? pls respond.....
Didn't know about that on xperias C and M, just tried on my L and all that you say happened to me.
The notification bar fails to work??

Atleast it works for you 3 or 4 times.. If I try to use the notification bar in two finger gesture the notification bar stops working.. I haven't seen the extended notification bar in my phone after the 4.2 update
Sent from my C2104 using xda app-developers app
If I pull the notification bar with two fingers, it behaves the same way as it would if I had pulled with one finger. i.e. I don't get a quick settings tab at all. No freezing or anything like that
Please look at my post above
It works man if it didn't. Then pm me and thank me if u like

Yeah it has more options for the drop down status bar. Fling it and you will see.
so i found the quick panel settings for the 15 toggle mod. which has the different toggles you can select for the drop down notification. But in the drop down notification it still only has the standard toggles. doesn't matter if i select one 2 5 or ten of the toggles only the standard ones show up. anyone else have this issue?

You have to slide the bar over. They are scrollable
I tried swiping to no effect.

Have you flashed anything on top of the rom? Batteries or anything from somewhere else? Did you flash the updates?

I have flashed each update as it came out. And have the crysis battery mod
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
It was the crysis terminator circle battery mod that removed the swiping ability or 15 toggle in the dropdown notification

Its a app that's making it do that....do you have any apps that put ads in your notifaction bar or any crappy looking apps with no put in design? Then uninstall them.

Found the problem... It was an ad app ' top offers ' which was putting ads in notification bar.. It didn't know that was the thing causing the screen to turn on.. But now its fixed.
Installed the 'air push detector' and found the ad apps n uninstalled them hopefully it won't happen again.

Yep saw this too. Downloading now
No need to wipe cache and fix permissions. Works fine without these steps.
Nice all kinds of 4.2 goodies:laugh:
thank you for this!
Is anyone having issues with the alarm function of this? I am able to everything with this new clock app, except that it force closes as soon as I click the alarm icon at the bottom left.

I was having the same problem. You have to delete the old clock app and reboot. Then it should work fine or at least that's what I did to get it working. Might be a good idea to back up the old clock app before you delete it just in case. Good luck

its funny because i was getting force closes and i was trying to delete the 4.2 app and accidently deleted the old 4.1 clock and it fixed the problem .
i love the look of the new 4.2 clock . also the night mode is easier on the eyes .
What happened to the installable version? The one you can do without root?

I love the new nighttime clock, the last one was hard to read. I only wish you could change the text color like in CM7.
Cannot download. Keeps stopping!

After flashing the 4.2 clock, removing the 4.1 clock and rebooting, I get stuck on the "activating..." screen. Is this happening to anyone else?
The clock works perfectly, and I can just hit the home button and it goes away, but now it happens on every reboot and I wouldn't want that process to run in the background...
Any info would be much appreciated!
I've noticed an issue when you set the status bar clock to center with the am/pm set to large it stays large no matter if you choose small or none. The only way I have figured out how to get it reset is by rebooting.

I noticed the same thing, I solved it by turning am/pm off and simply looking out a window to see of the sun is out.

I just did the KitKat up so my notification bar went transparent and now I'm noticing some burn-in. My screen is always on auto and never left sitting around w/ the screen on. Is any one else see this? Opening th books app and letting it go full screen is a good way to test.

My notification bar is black as well.. and is only transparent on the lock screen. Are you sure it's transparent?
However, on topic, I do not see any sort of burn-in. I wasn't even sure that was possible on these types of screens? But I could be wrong.

Are you using nova launcher? With 4.4 it has a setting under look and feel to enable transparent bar
Sent from my XT1080 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
If you're on stock 4.4 you should NOT have a transparent notification bar...
If you're using Nova there is an option to set it to transparent
Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
Guys, the transparent notification bar is not the default with 4.4. I have GEL but other 3rd party launchers like Nova also enable this.
OP, are you sure that you're actually seeing burn-in? The bar is transparent but fades to black.

Not that it's particularly relevant to the OPs question, but the KitKat update does, in fact, have the transparent status bar.
Unfortunately, what it doesn't have is the resized launcher to support it so it still looks black.
