I am creating an app which will speak the caller name when the phone rings. I am using TTS for this. Everything is working smooth except in one situation. When the phone rings at time user press the Volume / Turn off button to put the ringing on silent though incoming call continues. I am unable to handle this situation. I have one UI (Activity) for app settings, One BroadCast reciever to handle calls, One PhoneStateListener to check the incoming call and one Service to execute the TTS. How and where to handle this trigger when the user puts the ringing of the phone in silent.

Hello,
I wanted do ask if any of you know an android app (2.1) that would add a button to call back the caller, that is, drop the incoming call and then call that number. Even better if it would be automatic in case of some callers (tho it should still keep on ringing ).
I noticed that incoming calls not listed in my contacts vibrate. I have the vibration shut off completely. Is there another feature I am leaving on? I don't want the phone to vibrate at all no matter who or when I receive a call. Use Google Voice and have the vibration function off on that as well. Any input is welcome.
Thanks,
Vinny
So I was typing a message this morning when a call came in. Before I even realized it, the incoming call screen popped up and I hit the Decline button. Is there an app or mod or setting I'm not aware of that will keep the incoming call screen from coming up when another app is in use? I read that CyanogenMod has a setting like that. The phone rings and a notification appears but the Accept/Decline buttons don't pop up immediately. Is there a way to get that functionality on a Sense ROM?

Whenever my device is awake and a call is incoming it rings and displays the incoming call screen. But when my phone is locked and a call arrives it just displays the incoming call screen with the name of the dialer but the phone does not ring i.e no sound . I have tried changing the ringtone and changing audio profiles but to no avail. Please help me as I am missing a lot of important calls.
Rebooting clears the problem. Almost every day I find my phone with no ring tone. In settings, sound Phone ringtone any ringtone I select is silent. Incoming calls are hung up by this caller who keeps changing the number. I have hundreds of blocked calls I've added to call blocker. I use DW Contacts and Phone and Calls Blacklist Pro. I tried running without each of these and still happens. What can mute the Phone Ringtone? Is there a setting that will turn it back on without rebooting? Running AEX AOSP Extended Oreo.
