Rle files - Miscellaneous Android Development

Hi guys, I am trying to change the boot splash of an android tv amlogic m3 box. I've unpacked the boot.img and have found the initlogo.rle but there are 4 variations initlogo.480p.rle initlogo.576p.rle initlogo.720p.rle and initlogo.1080p.rle. When I create my custom .rle they display incorrect. Please has anyone had any experience with changing or creating these .rle files. Thanks

[DEV Questions] Modify/remove splash screens

Hi all,
Today I have had a bit of a nightmare with changing the splash screen(s). I'm trying to create a totally generic version of this firmware, which removes all of the T-Mobile branding; including those annoying 'Exclusive to T-Mobile' splash screens. I say screens, as it seems there are two of them, one loaded immediately and the other loaded from the kernel immediately afterwards.
I understand that the first one to load (bios as such) is located in /mnt/.lfs/logo.jpg. I cannot alter or edit that directory without a modified param.lfs, I am told.
I recently tried the param.lfs from the Vibrant build, and it flashed successfully, but still wouldn't allow me to write over the logo (operation not permitted). Can this image be changed directly in param.lfs? I have extracted the images from param.lfs, but cannot find a way to rebuild it. Also... replacing the param.lfs with one from a stock vibrant doesn't appear to change the splash screen. Wtf?
Also, even if I do overwrite the image, will the SBL push another one over the top? I'm getting mixed opinions on this...
The second image is located in the kernel source, I understand. I'm aware of how to compile a kernel so that isn't the issue.
Does anyone know the name of the image to locate in the source?
EDIT - think I found it in: ../drivers/video/samsung/logo_rgb24_wvga_portrait.h
My brain isn't working correctly today, and I have wasted a lot of time on this already. If someone out there knows the answer it'd save me a lot more time!
Thanks in advance.

Yupe..that would be the file and there's an app to build that for you. All you need is creating 480x800 24bit RGB image and save it as C header, then use that app to rebuild logo_rgb24_wvga_portrait.h for you.

As soon as I have it all figured out, I'll post it all as a guide, and maybe even do a video for you.

The animations are easy to change - just replace them with the qmgs from stock galaxy S...
or, use/compile a kernel with bootanimation.zip support
The annoying T-Mobile jingle is in /system/etc
Can't remember the name!

Custom boot splash screen

Could anyone point me to a guide for the g2x on how to change this? I've been searching and I can't find anything that works on g2x. Running cm7 rc1 and Trinity kernel. Thanks!

Find a bootanimation.zip you like save it. Open root explore or the likes mount system as writable. Go to system then media erase bootanimation.zip and paste the one you want there. Pretty simple in the vibrant section under theming there is a how to on making boot animations.

I think he's asking for the splash screen (LG logo). The boot animation is different from the splash screen. It's the graphic image before the boot animation.

Yeah that's what I'm looking for... I can change the boot animation, no problem. Its just the splash screen that comes up before the animation that I'm looking to change

Unless I'm mistaken, that would be a function of the BIOS, so if anything could change out the kernel would.
But I have no experience with this particular thing, it's just my gut instinct.

Does anyone have any further information on this? I would really like to be able to change this, my parents and I like the Trinity kernels... until my parents noticed the "666 morfic" on the bottom of the splash screen lol

I'm on board this device and I'm ready to work.
OT: I'm getting it also.
I'm having serious problems with creating a boot image.
As soon as I as much as unpack and repack a working one, it won't boot anymore.
Hexdumps only differ in 0x10-20 but that's enough.
If anyone figured this out, please share your knowledge

boot animation factory program.

Has anyone used this program? I'm having issues with my boot animation. Can someone tell what I'm doing wrong, I'll post the zip. I took this animation from a different forum and it's called trap code. I changed the resolution to 540x960 but I think quality was lost.
Anyways, here it is.
Well, xda wouldn't let me upload the zip due to a missing token or something. ggrrr

Stock 4g lte bootanimation?

Anyone have a flashable zip that will put the stock qmg files back in to get the 4g LTE boot animation back?
Or the files I need and I can put them in manually?
Thanks

These should be the right qmg files http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29349838&postcount=8
Just so you know most kernels don't support qmg files and I haven't been able to find the vz boot animation in zip format with the jpgs.
If those qmg files are wrong you can always pull the files out of a stock Rom. Also please let me know if you're kernel allows qmg, I'm on leankernel and I'm pretty sure it doesn't support them.
Ok thanks. I downloaded those last night and they did not work. I just tried to replace the current Samsung qmg files with those and reboot but no change.

Which kernel are you running? Do you see a bootanimation.zip in system/media?
No. I have qmg files, running the HD kernel
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Vralhd is the radio, if you're still on cleanrom it might have installed cleankernel. I don't think it supports qmg but I could be wrong. Which bootanimation is showing when booting? Also check data/local and see if there's a bootanimation.zip in there.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797056
This thread has links to the international s3 animation and I believe the other link is the stock animation in qmg. If qmg still doesn't work and the intl one does then your Rom/kernel probably doesn't support qmg.
Nope, running CD2.5 with HD kernel and radio. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850506
The Samsung, that comes up with a circle and white text.

Try out the qmg and bootanimation.zip in that thread, let me know if the qmg works because I might have to switch kernels if it does.

Yes they work. Inside that zip is the 4g LTE qmg files as well as the proper power on and off sound files. Once extracted they can be moved to system/media.
I changed the files to.bak on the originals and replaced them (4 total) with the ones from the extracted zip. Re-booted. Success!
Thanks
