Hello,
I am usin Huawei Ascend G510 for 5 days now. And I notify that battery usage for this phone is insane. Whili it is in waiting mode then battery laife is very good, during night loss of few % of battery.
Please see in image 2 huge drops around 14:00 and around 18:30.
At ~14:00 I drove and used waze for ~8 mins and battery dropped for 25%. Is this how it should be???
At ~18:30 I played game (not 3d, small game while waiting) and checked whatsapp messages and rss nes read. It is againe ~10 mins and loss of ~25% of battery.
The rest of time between 14 and 18 is working hours and emails incoming, rss feeds updating, calls incoming/ outgoing.
I think there is something wrong. Maybe Huawei has not that good optimized android version or some bugs draining battery while there is continuous usage.
Has anyone here ideas, or experience with the same phone?

This is a brand new battery and brand new phone. Dont think thats the problem, only in case if it is faulty already from factory.

I don't have your phone, but mine does that when the signal from the cell phone tower is weak or if I am using the GPS freatures You can test this by turning off the data connection and/or the GPS and seeing if either/both fixes your battery drain. If this is the case there are some tweaks you can try to make this less of a problem.
I noticed that my phone is most of time awake. And when check detailed battery consumption, then screen is only 5th, which should be somewhere in top. Why first 3 battery consumers are standby, idle and wifi? I don`t think this is normal. Even during nights my phone is awake. Installed some kind of wakelock app, and it shows that it is caused by exchange email.
Any ideas, what to do to find solution?
thanks
Get wakelock detektor from market. And then get greenify to kill your battery eaters.

I think it should work

Details on my phone (just in case you want them):
-Device is on Weapon G2x 2.4 ROM
-Using JuiceDefender free
-Just got the device on the 26th of this month
-Background data is on, but as far as I know, no apps are on push notifications except for WhatsApp
-The only thing on auto sync my main gmail account, and Sync Gmail is the only item checked.
So this morning after I unplugged my phone, I stayed on 100% for about 1 hour and 10 minutes until I received a phone call (which was only 1 minute) then the battery finally dropped down to 99%.
So I thought cool, on idle I get around an hour before the percentage drops. Then I browse for about 15 minutes, then about 2 hours after that I send an MMS after looking at a picture in the Gallery app. So I put the phone down after noting in my head the percentage.
About 20 minutes later, I check my screen and see that the percentage dropped by 1%. Really weird. I didn't think too much about it but wish it wouldn't drop so fast. Then after another 15-20 or so minutes it drops 1% again. I'm not getting that 1% per ~1 hour drop rate on idle. I look into Battery use and see the Gallery app at the very top. Here's a picture of it:

*TLDR* - Was getting a 1% drop of battery life per ~1 hour of idling, went into Gallery app to send an MMS, then started getting 1% drop of battery life per 15-20 minutes of idling.
Really odd. Could the Gallery app being in the background be the reason for this weird battery drainage I'm experiencing? Or am I being too picky? Hahah. Thanks for reading and thanks for your input in advance. I do thank posts.
I think ur watching ur phone too closely cuz its new. I was doing that too. The battery is fine but using 4g+screen indeed drains the battery fairly quick.
Also remember that battery readings aren't always 1100% accurate, so it could drop 5% in a minute and then stay there for 2 hours

Cool thanks! I am probably getting crazy on checking my phone battery haha. Alright, sounds good. I wonder why they're not always accurate.
Bumping an old thread, but this is happening with mine also, if I open the gallery or camera for anything they are at the top of the list for battery usage all day. Do they stay on in the background and drain the battery?
From what I've seen it is a bug I'm the battery reporting stats.

As the title says, I'm looking for a ROM with phone features disabled at the OS level (No texting, phonebook, data), since the radio fried, and all it's doing is eating up battery.I like my phone enough to keep it, but I'd rather not replace the whole motherboard because of it. Any leads? Or am I better off just building one myself?

That's what I've always done tbqh. Enabling airplane mode has always given me a noticeable uptick in battery life, and when my Skyrocket was a skyPod, I could milk days out of the thing.

Even when the cellular was working fine, it had 2-3 days of battery the way I was using it. Now that it's gypped, I've been getting 10-12 hours. I'll first test around with airplane mode before doing anything too drastic to it.
Might also go the factory reset route, if i can get the Wifi Antenna working again.
That sounds more like a doomsday wakelock than a hardware problem. Have you checked those for vampires?

Yea, I ran GSAM Battery Monitor and it was giving me a 90% total battery usage being used by the cellular radio, 5% wifi usage, and 3% app usage, with 2% wakelock. I also ran the secondary tests, and I have no wakelock isssues from my charger. When airplane mode's enabled, and wifi's on, I get 20% wifi, 40% screen, and 40% apps. Battery drain is now controlled at an estimated 2%/hour while off, and 5%/hour while being used, down from 8%/hour while off, and 12%/hour while being used. For me, usage means moderate use, with a lot of apps and photos.
That seems pretty normal. My Rocket gets about 1% per hour when idle, 5% per hour when in moderate use (apps, browsing), 8-10% per hour if I'm playing processor-intensive games, and I spent months fine-tuning it to kill any and all wakelocks I possibly could. You might have hit the limit there.
I recently got one of this phones off ebay deal. So far the phone has been really good (after going to 5.1.1) other than the battery life which is super terrible. I leave for office at 8AM and by the time I am back around 6:30 in evening its already down to 8-9% with barely 1 hour of SOT. While using the phone I can clearly see battery going down by 1 percent every two minutes.
One of the other things I noticed is it takes a while to charge battery. Almost takes 4 hours to charge it.
Have done everything listed in various thread on XDA to fix battery drain but nothing is helping. To summarize I have
- Rooted my phone
- Disable AT&T enhanced 4G LTE
- Tweak setting with kernel auditor
- Disable ATT bloatware
- Install greenify and amplify
- Installed CF.Lumen to control brightness
Not sure what I am missing here now. Any help is appreciated from you guys.
Does the phone feel warm on the back when it's just sitting?
If so, you probably have a runaway app. You can check the battery section in options and see what's eating battery.
I had this a while ago on nexus 5 with the ebay app, the same also happened to a friend of mine with the same app.
hello, there.
i had the same problem, it seems that your phone is not going to deep sleep mode.
i fixed my problem with Nitro X, you can find it here on xda.
now i am very happy with my battery, for example now it says on battery for 2 days 15h 29min 22s and still 60% battery remaining.
hope this helps.

It only gets warm when playing some games. I will look at some of the apps as you suggested. Thanks,

Thanks. I am gonna give it a shot. I see they have 2 versions - X86 and Non-X86. which one should I flash? Also since flex 2 doesn't support any recovery (twrp etc) should I just flash it with Flashfire app?
hello kunalmalviya,
i downloaded the non x86 (=the arm version).
i do not know about flashfire, you should ask on the forum.
Please click the thanks! button if that helped.
PEACE.
Try reflashing latest software via LG Flash Tool.
I have no issue with battery life. It is slightly better than on LG G2 which is awesome. (3-4 hours SOT without any problems, no tweaks, no root, brigthness on 100%, Wi-Fi, NFC and LTE enabled all the time, Google Now enabled, Google Location Services enabled and lot of apps running in background).
Standby / idle battery has been terrible. I've googled and barely found anything on this issue. The first time I activated the phone it was google play services near the top. Did a factory reset and I've been using since.
Battery drain is worse when no data / wifi is connected. If I connect to wifi , battery drain is less. A step below having airplane mode. I hate charging the phone to 85-100% just for it to drop considerably over 12-24 hours. I've gotten between 2-4 hours of Screen on time but I feel like it should average 5 hours atleast if I use the phone moderately.
Would betterbatterystats help in this situation?
Goggle Backup Transport or other cloud apps running in background.
Best to an adb edit or package disabler to kill it.
In lieu of doing the above or in conjunction, temporarily disable Google play Services when not needed like at night.
I had a similar problem, lowering the brightness level in the settings helped a little. I also recommend using Wi-Fi in places where it is available instead of 4g, which is much more energy-consuming and disable all background applications that are not needed at the moment. If it doesn't help, only useful solution to change the battery, if it's possible.
Here's an update . Fully charged battery and just let it idle. Google play services running for 11 hours

Mine does it as well. After night (6-8hrs) drop about 4%, disabled network and 5G, no changes with airplane mode, another flip also has this problem, battery drain does not occur when device is off

You do realise that battery "drain" over those 11 hours was 0.2%
That's tiny in the grand scheme of things .. or am i missing something?

As long as other play services dependencies like Backup Transport didn't suck down a huge amount during that time...

First of all you shouldn't be charging to 100% ever. There is an option to stop at 85%. Enable it then use package disabler or adb to stop tons of background garbage.
I think I'm having some battery drain problems on my Poco X3 Pro.
I've had the phone for 4 months, in December I installed ArrowOS 11, and it had a battery life of about 8hr screen time with wifi, social media, youtube, etc.
After installing an arrowos OTA I think I have seen a degradation in my battery life, now I do not reach 7 hours of screen. And at night it goes down to about 7% in idle. I charge my phone to 100 and let it run down to around 2-3%, I know this reduces battery life but in only 4 months? I have forgotten a couple of times and left it charging overnight, if that, it would have been 2-3 times in all those months. According to Accubattery I have a 90% battery life, I feel that it goes down a lot, but I don't know how reliable it is.
the last picture is from 1 month ago, before installing the OTA update.

Any solutions? Have the same problem
Battery usage can vary from many factors, and not always is about the ROM.
Your usage from the apps are not always the same, and also, apps can be updated to - not always in a good matter of things...
A drop from 8 to 7 hours of SoT is, in reality, nothing. Is inside of the range of values to be expected. The ROM update could have been just a coincidence.
Most of the times, users don't see difference in they activity on the device, but it may be something simple as use the screen in environments with a little more light - and Auto Brightness activated - leading to more bright screens... or just use in general.
still, is a great SoT in both ways. nothing to worry about - and don't panic with such range of SoT, is normal.
With the amount of social apps and crap you have running in the background, ni wonder you drain battery during idle time. Those apps wakelock the device while they connect and do their thing in the background. I have attached my overnight battery loss, with the apps I have installed ( including social stuff like Telegram, Whatsapp, Viber and mail client ).
So, you see, it's not about the ROM... it's about the crap you fill it with. And read up on app broadcast intents. By tweaking those, you can achieve miracles in battery saving.
