I own a Vodafone Smart 2 (rooted, Stock ROM). I usually have the Internet turned off and I only turn it on (WiFi) on the night at home. When I turn on the Internet, my phone starts receiving lots of notifications from Facebook Messenger. It receives one notification per message, even if I've already read it before on another device. The phone keeps ringing for like 30 seconds and then it stops. If there are unread conversations, the notification stays on the bar; otherwise if I have read it before, it rings but then disappears from the bar.
Any idea on how to stop notifications of messages that I've read before? Any suggestion is welcome! Thank you.

Is there a setting or modification available that can make the phone only alert you that you have a notification every, say... 5 minutes? I don't mean that it'll keep reminding you every 5 minutes for the same notification, I mean that if there are more notifications within 5 minutes of the "first" one, the phone will not alert again.
This would be great for all the scenarios that I can't respond immediately but a friend is messaging me in multiple messages (as is typical behavior in instant messaging). The repeating and sometimes overlapping alerts are bothersome. I still want to know if I got something so I'm not going to just turn off alerts either.
So, is there anything that can help me out?

I'd especially like to have my WP to vibrate when I receive facebook notifications or message...

Going for the obvious, but you do have vibrations turned on in the Settings right?
I know FB notifications don't get sent as toast, and thus don't vibrate, but other apps (BBC News Mobile's for example has a Breaking News) that get sent via toast and my phone vibrates when it arrives.
The new Facebook Application does delivery notifications as toast message, so it makes the phone vibrate/ring everytime it gets the notification.

Recently I've been having issues with the notifications on the Gear 2 with Whatsapp+
I had my groups inside the app set to Mute and to not recieve notifications, it worked perfectly until one of the recent updates, which one, I'm not sure.
What happens now is the following:
Whenever I have no group messages I receive notifications from regular chats perfectly displaying who sent the message and the preview of the message BUT .....
Whenever I have unread group notifications (of which I have removed from pushing beyond the app) and a regular message is sent, the gear 2 pops up notification from the GROUP which is muted and notifications turned off.
Its annoying because I have to check who sent the message due to the fact that somehow the group notifications take priority in the preview of the message even though they are turned off..
Its really specific issue and hard to explain, I've searched forums and what not and I've yet to find anyone with this issue. Ive tried reinstalling gear software, resetting to factory settings, turning on/off notifications, installing regular Whatsapp to no avail.
I can't see the message from my contact whenever I have unseen group messages. very friggin frustrating....
Anyone know what causes this issue? Any help would be appreciated.

I've noticed the exact same thing
I have even upgraded from an S4 to an S5 and the problem is still there

I've already tried to do a forum search, but I did not find an answer.
I use Nova Launcher Pro.
I have a problem with notifications. Notifications work in whatsapps and sms, I see them on the top bar.
Instead, in other apps (calendar, inbox by gmail, netatmo security for example) are not seen. They appear quickly on the screen and then disappear.
Can someone help me?
I've already tried to modify the power saving options, but it does not change anything, even by changing the "special access" menu.

Have you gone into Nova settings and down to Notification badges, tap that and down on the bottom you will see TeslaUnread and enable the apps you want to get notifications from?

My problem is of not having notification icons in the status bar for applications (for example the notifications of Netatmo, the security camera app ).
I have notification icons only for messaging programs (like whatsapp, sms etc.). For other apps, I have the only notifications that appear on the screen and soon disappear.

About phantom vibrations, today I was in front of my pc when I heard a vibration without notification on the phone and I noticed on the PC that I just had an email, so the ghost notification was due to the arrival of the email!
Im having the same issue, I get a vibration, and a quick flash of a notification.
So if my phone is in my pocket, by the time I get it out the notification will be gone.

I had an S8+ and Whatsapp was set to show the badge if there was a message or group message only (no vibrate or sound) and worked flawlessly. I got an S10 about a month ago, and I have set it to silent + no vibrate (both in Whatsapp notifications and on system settings) but it keeps vibrating when I get a message. The system settings keep reverting back to 'sound and vibrate' every couple days so I keep changing it to 'silent + no vibrate'. But even when it's set to this, it still vibrates!!
It really annoys me, as I only want my phone to vibrate for calls, messages and emails, not Whatsapp.
Any ideas how to fix this? I've uninstalled and reinstalled Whatsapp and it didn't fix it. I've done all software updates as well.

There are three different settings for vibration in whatsapp: Messages, Groups and Calls. Have you tried disabling all of them?
