Interesting, I'm on T-Mobile.
On Verizon E-mail and camera icons are still default and not themed.
Thanks for the jelly bean theme!
Couple bugs or missing icon changes for D801 Wind Mobile device.
The alarm/clock and calendar app icons are unchanged.
The messaging app icon is the email icon as mentioned previously for another user.
I think the Dev mentions in the play store that many icons have to be manually changed (via long press). Also when theme is updated it has to be rechosen/applied via LG theme menu. Could that be issue some are having?

Is there any way to get the stock ICS messaging app? I'm not the largest fan of several little quirks in the SenseUI one, and am really not a fan of how it looks.
Has anyone else tried this? If so, to what success?

That's disappointing. I really can't stand the messaging UI, and the inability to hide the phone numbers in messages. I realize who I'm talking to, HTC... I don't need you to also list out their 10 digit phone number as well.
It's a shame, as I really love the phone, and there's no one big UI change that I dislike, it's just all these little things, like the changes in the messaging app that are really turning me off.

He said keyboard, but it's actual ICS sms apps. And after using some HTC has a much better looking app in my opinion.
Yes I meant SMS not keyboards. But the ics keyboard + ics messaging looks nice. I don't mind sense UI though. Beats touch wiz hands down.

I'm using a holo stock messenging apk. don't remember where I got it from as I pulled it from my sgs2. Only problem is it doesnt send mms messages, only sms.
just drop it into system/app named mms.apk with the right permissions.
worked for me. might take a couple tries to show up.

Does anyone by chance have the stock mms.apk holo w/ white background by chance? If it was pulled from the gnex it should work in full with no problems right?
Don't quite like the black, plus I would like picture messages to work as well.
Thank You in advance

I have had gripes with the HTC MMS app, but after using a Galaxy Nexus for a while, it too shows the phone number on the message screen. I also think the HTC UI is actually better and more professional and "clean". But yeah, would be nice to try stock ICS too, but I have never been able to get it working on any ICS device other than the Nexus.
I can confirm that hartfords mms apk looks just like holo w/ black background and picture messages work.
Edit: spoke too soon.... I can receive pics and videos but for some reason can't send them...the search continues.

WHY is the text messaging app called "Text messaging" (which doesn't fit on the dock!) rather than "Messages" like in the promo screenshots?
There is mine.
I like to keep it as simple as possible.
Right on right side of GMail icon I have a group of all my instant message apps (GTalk, WhatsApp, Facebook messenger, Google+ Messenger and SMS) and on the second group I have Phone and People.

Are there any text messaging apps with a quick reply feature like in stock that I don't need root to install? I have an HTC One and came from a Galaxy Nexus and miss that feature so much. I've tried some other apps, but nothing seems to have the ability to swipe down on a notification in the notification bar and reply like that without having to go into the app. The closest I've seen is the constant notification quick message thing in Handcent.

I am so used to the calendar app from my Samsung SII (E4GT) that I never really used google calendar on my phone and on my N5 it just stinks. On my tablet google calendar is fine and so are the widgets but on the phone not so much. Worst thing is not having a nice month view that lists items instead of just showing colors.
So what is a good alternative? I only use google calendar so I am not syncing with other email services and I have a shared google calendar with the wife so need to keep that in one place.
Thanks
I use Neat Calendar widget with the stock calendar, works well for me.

Where did you get Any.cal. The play store links seems down, i hadn't luck with their community either.
I signed up for their beta a while ago on the any.do website. You can try there and see if they still have it going.

Hi, friends!
I am using amazing Pimlical Advanced Calendar/PIM (I can not post the link to this app due to the rules of XDA forum) . I have use for years DateBk5 from same developer on my Palm.
Also I use Next Launcher 3D with its calendar widget.
My question is: how can I force calendar widget open Pimlical Advanced Calendar/PIM instead pf stock calendar?
The"Clear defaults" in stock calendar is greyed and I can set Pimlical Advanced Calendar/PIM as my default calendar application.
Any hint, please.

Nexus 5 v.4.4.2
not rooted
I'm looking for an app or something that will give me a black theme, icons, most importantly when I open an app (like CNN, PlayStore, etc.) It will have a black background with white text.
I tried using the inversion setting but is then trows off my already black wallpaper to looking white and stuff. I have vision issue which is why I am looking for this.
I am running stock but am rooted. I was Running the carbon rom for this but got tired of installing nightlies for hammerhead. I'm just going to wait until they have a production version.
Thanks in advance,

Just curious, but is the reason for wanting black everything to try and conserve battery life? Because as far as I know that only works for AMOLED displays.

Search black icons in the store, heres one recommendation https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.threekzerothree.softinsetroundicons.black
Use slimROM, a lot of people have this thing for black and holo blue and that is what slim uses, and you can enable darkslim or whatever. I think they have a milestone so you can load that and it will be stable. http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/orig-development/rom-slimkat-hammerhead-t2511512
Go for Mahdi ROM and flash Slim GAPS with it.

You already have the Team Blacked Out link so here is a more obscure theming app. This app allows you to override the colors on most Web pages. It works with both browsers and apps that display html pages within the app itself (eg. Flipboard). I use it on both my Nexus 5&10. Read how it works and how to install here:
[HOW-TO] Blacked out theme effect for Web pages (needs root)
A theme able alternative to YouTube which has some additional features is called Viral. Find it on the play store. That app allows no end of UI Color theming.
You can also use the XPosed framework and two modules (Gravity Box and HKTheme Manager) to implement dark themes including Color finer tuning nav and status bars. Here is a dark theme on the playstore which works with HKTheme Manager.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/themes-apps/theme-black-blue-infinitum-theme-t2597690
Good luck
I like to thank everyone for their suggestions. Based on all the information everyone contributed to this thread I was able to customize my phone to work with the dark themes. Again this was requested because of some vision issues I have and despite one individual who decided to rant off without reading why I requested this, everyone else's suggestions help me set up my phone to work perfectly. Thank you all again.
