Download http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923629 this ROM and get the kernel out of it!
AFAIK both sensation ( xe nd normal sensation) uses same kernel
It will automatically set frequency depending upon model.
i.e sensation @ 1.2ghz nd xe @ 1.5ghz

Hi,
Yes ,guide is in my sig.
Thank you very much
I have the new Sensation XE whit original 1.5 ghz prosessor. Is this you link til for the old Sensation? I want to root my new sensation XE to a more powerful phone so is there any root for this to get it better?
For me it looks that the guide in your signature is for the old Sensation 1.2 ghz version

Hi,
Essentially ,both phones have the same hardware.
The original phone was under-clocked at 1.2 ghz, while the XE has the native 1.5 ghz.
Once you root your phone, you can add different kernels and then adjust the speeds to whatever you want them to be.
So yes,the guide in my sig will work for your XE phone.
I am currently running my ROM at 1.51 ghz,and it works great.
if the original sensation was underclocked to 1,2 and now 1,5 will the maximum then be 'only' 1,5 on sensation xe?? Sensation xe is 1,5 from factory.

Hi,
The speeds are set by the kernel you are using, and then adjusted by programs like Daemon Controller or SetCPU.
Speeds can be set anywhere between 1.0 and 2.0 ghz
ok thanks, but what is the best kernel to use if I will make my sensation xe extremly fast and stabile??
What ROM are you aiming to use ?
All the custom ROMs come with a Kernel. They might also have recommended alternate Kernels.
It's important to ensure that the Kernel supports a ROM and vica versa, e.g. AOSP kernel for CM7 etc. Just look in the ROMs OP for more information.

Hi,
Before you do anything, make a nandroid backup.
There is no "BEST" kernel.
There is ,however, the best one for you.
I do not know which one that will be.
But ,if you trawl through THIS THREAD you will find different kernels.
Read the thread which corresponds to your ROM,and you will see suggestions from other users.
Good luck.

Hi,
I'm not sure why it 's not working for you.
Please explain the steps that you have already taken.
Also look at the s-off guide in my signature.
Is it the same one you have tried?
You must be careful to follow the guide to the letter.

Hey guys,
I'm a little bit confused. Which forum should I follow in order to get custom roms on my Sensation XE? Should I follow the Sensation forums, or the Sensation XL forums? I know that the XE isn't available in the US, but surely there are roms for the XE as well?
Sensation XE is the same as Sensation.
I have the Sensation XE too ...
My CPU says it's clocked @ 1.5GHz as standard ...
What happens " If " we put a custom ROM on.? - Standard Sensation is clocked @ 1.2GHz
I'd like the new ROM to be the same speed when I check the phone, or even better if possible.?

The majority of Sensation ROMs are set to 1.5GHz since the XE came out.
I'd suggest Android Revolution HD
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098849
Yeah, I was planning on Revolution HD, those guys always do great stuff.
I do have a question though. What about my phone's firmware? I just got my Sensation XE today (sealed) so do I need to downgrade or upgrade to a certain firmware?
Just go to www.revolutionary.io
one click root, worked fine first time for me on XE
if you have any issues, come back and check on XDA but it will no doubt be fine...
You should first root your phone. Use the link from the member above me. then use Android Revolution HD Rom. Those are excellent better battery life, etc...

can you put the XE rom on a normal sensation?
and get the 1.2 to 1.5 boost ?
Yes, you can.

With ARHD, when installing, it gives you the option of using 1.2 or 1.5.

Hi,
You can put an XE ROM on a normal Sensation, but it will only run at 1.2 GHZ.
In order to get the 1.5 GHZ,you need to install a kernel with that capability.
Im assuming the XE is just the same phone as the sensation but with some beats software and a bigger batter cpu speed aside ?

Hi,
Correct.
CPU is the same, just natively set at 1.5 GHZ for XE,1.2 for normal.
Sensation on its way now, its running official ICS carrier update from three
should have it by end of next week.

if you are soff then you can do it
processor will be at 1.5Ghz i think ..you need to verify it yourself (ive seen sensation rom on xe and the processor speed was 1.2Ghz there)
no problem you will have
ruu will do ..and if you favor custom rom ..then thats also fine

You can check it for example with the "System Tuner" App from the Market (Play Store). For setting it (among a lot of other things), I used this kernel that comes with an installer for generating an init-script. Probably it would be possible to set the parameters on a stock kernel, too.
In my ICS installation, I had to create the /system/etc/init.d directory myself and add a call to "/system/xbin/busybox run-parts /system/etc/init.d" in /system/etc/init.post-boot.sh in order to make the additional init-script work (must have busybox installed for that).
I saw Ville c2 is clocked to 1.7 and has msm8260 like our sensation has. Would it be ok if i overclock my sensation to 1.7...would it be the same like it is on ville c2, and no damage to processor?

I frequently overclock my HTC Sensation to 1782 Mhz (no undervolting). Absolutely no issues. This is a stable overclock. Above this though, sometimes the device becomes unstable and reboots.
