if you are soff then you can do it
processor will be at 1.5Ghz i think ..you need to verify it yourself (ive seen sensation rom on xe and the processor speed was 1.2Ghz there)
no problem you will have
ruu will do ..and if you favor custom rom ..then thats also fine

You can check it for example with the "System Tuner" App from the Market (Play Store). For setting it (among a lot of other things), I used this kernel that comes with an installer for generating an init-script. Probably it would be possible to set the parameters on a stock kernel, too.
In my ICS installation, I had to create the /system/etc/init.d directory myself and add a call to "/system/xbin/busybox run-parts /system/etc/init.d" in /system/etc/init.post-boot.sh in order to make the additional init-script work (must have busybox installed for that).

Hi,
Yes ,guide is in my sig.
Thank you very much
I have the new Sensation XE whit original 1.5 ghz prosessor. Is this you link til for the old Sensation? I want to root my new sensation XE to a more powerful phone so is there any root for this to get it better?
For me it looks that the guide in your signature is for the old Sensation 1.2 ghz version

Hi,
Essentially ,both phones have the same hardware.
The original phone was under-clocked at 1.2 ghz, while the XE has the native 1.5 ghz.
Once you root your phone, you can add different kernels and then adjust the speeds to whatever you want them to be.
So yes,the guide in my sig will work for your XE phone.
I am currently running my ROM at 1.51 ghz,and it works great.
if the original sensation was underclocked to 1,2 and now 1,5 will the maximum then be 'only' 1,5 on sensation xe?? Sensation xe is 1,5 from factory.

Hi,
The speeds are set by the kernel you are using, and then adjusted by programs like Daemon Controller or SetCPU.
Speeds can be set anywhere between 1.0 and 2.0 ghz
ok thanks, but what is the best kernel to use if I will make my sensation xe extremly fast and stabile??
What ROM are you aiming to use ?
All the custom ROMs come with a Kernel. They might also have recommended alternate Kernels.
It's important to ensure that the Kernel supports a ROM and vica versa, e.g. AOSP kernel for CM7 etc. Just look in the ROMs OP for more information.

Hi,
Before you do anything, make a nandroid backup.
There is no "BEST" kernel.
There is ,however, the best one for you.
I do not know which one that will be.
But ,if you trawl through THIS THREAD you will find different kernels.
Read the thread which corresponds to your ROM,and you will see suggestions from other users.
Good luck.

Hi,
I'm not sure why it 's not working for you.
Please explain the steps that you have already taken.
Also look at the s-off guide in my signature.
Is it the same one you have tried?
You must be careful to follow the guide to the letter.

can you put the XE rom on a normal sensation?

Yes, you can.

With ARHD, when installing, it gives you the option of using 1.2 or 1.5.

Hi,
You can put an XE ROM on a normal Sensation, but it will only run at 1.2 GHZ.
In order to get the 1.5 GHZ,you need to install a kernel with that capability.
Im assuming the XE is just the same phone as the sensation but with some beats software and a bigger batter cpu speed aside ?

Hi,
Correct.
CPU is the same, just natively set at 1.5 GHZ for XE,1.2 for normal.
Sensation on its way now, its running official ICS carrier update from three
should have it by end of next week.
Guys,
Which version should i install for sensation xe ? revolution hd 6.4.0 or 6.3.1 XE ?. Another question is that can I install "v1.20 1782 MHz" kernel over this ROM ?
Thanks
Hani
6.4.0 is based on the final version released by htc. The XE version is not out yet as stated by mike.
And yes you can use the 1.2.0 kernel with 6.4.0 rom
You can install both, the choice is yours.
6.3.1XE - Testrelease with beats audio
6.4.0 - Final Release without beats audio
These are the only differences.
But soon may come a 6.4.0XE release.
And yes, you can install the 1,8Ghz Kernel.

If you use the beats audio features then you may want to chose the 6.3.1XE ROM for the time being and upgrade to 6.4.0XE when Mike finishes it. If you don't use beats then save the space and improve your boot time by sticking with the straight 6.4.0
I don't care for beats so I'm running 6.4.0 and its fabulous - the best so far IMO.
As for the kernel you don't need to load a separate 1782MHz kernel as long as you are using 4EXT Mikes roms include the 1.7Ghz overclock support. I believe however that since you have the XE device you select no during setup for the 1.7 option since your already 1.7 by default. (I'm almost positive thats what the instructions said during setup)
Only guys like me with the Sensation 4G need to select to use the 1.7 option.
Perhaps someone with an XE can confirm that my instructions are correct.

With ARHD you get the option of 1.2GHz or 1.5GHz. 1.7GHz is the kernal in a separate thread.
Right you are, I realized my error shortly after hitting submit, but you beat me to it, I gots meself confused... Or maybe its just time for bed. Either way sorry for my error in that regard, still stand that only go with 6.3.1 if you are interested in beats. I personally couldn't be bothered by it, but I use my phone for heavy business use not personal music.
*going to bed now*

I have version 6.2.1 on my phone right now, and when the new 6.4.0 came out I was going to flash it as it is the official release. However, I am going to wait because version 6.4.0 is based off the 'non-XE' OTA, meaning there's no beats audio (which I use).
So I'll be waiting a week for everything to settle, and hopefully the official OTA for the XE arrives and there is a new release
Just my opinion.. but if you want to do it right now then flash the 6.4.0, NOT the 6.3.1 as the 6.4.0 is a more stable build.
As for the kernels, any of these will work, there is a 1782 MHz one there: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424345
Many thanks guys! I'll wait for the 6.4.0 XE version.

Hi all,
with the help of this forum I have S-OFF, rooted and installed Android Revolution HD 6.8.0
In the delopers forum for this ROM it states:
This ROM will turn your HTC Sensation into powerful HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio technology and 1.5 GHz dual core!
Do I have to install the Android Revolution HD 6.8.0 XE with Beats Audio ROM to do this? I have checked my CPU speed and its still 1200GHz
Sorry to be a noob!
maybe you didn't choose overclock-able kernel during installation(maybe). Try to check cpu freq with any app from google market to know ur cpu clock speed.
Or, re-flash the phone again following instruction carefully.
-Download "Super Wipe" script
-Wipe/delete data/cache
-flash ARHD rom
hope it helped

Checked the CPU with app and it says max freq:1188 mhz (used Quadrant Standard)
When I flashed the ROM it did not offer any options.

Thats the question, should I have used the XE ROM (ARHD 6.8.0 XE with Beats Audio) as I used ARHD 6.8.0.
Is it ok to flash a Sensation with the XE ROM?

It's Ok to flash your sensation with xe's rom. both have same internal hardware :good:
As for ARHD, they offer 3 different ROMs
Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) + Sense UI 3.6 + Beats Audio (HTC stable)
Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) + Sense UI 3.6 (HTC stable)
Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) for HTC Sensation *STOCK* ROMs without changes and modifications
I guess you used *STOCK* ROM
Try any of other roms. 1 with beats audio and other without it. and both's max clock speed is 1.5GHz
also you must have 4EXT Recovery installed
good luck

AFAIK both sensation ( xe nd normal sensation) uses same kernel
It will automatically set frequency depending upon model.
i.e sensation @ 1.2ghz nd xe @ 1.5ghz
