my samsung gt-p1000 has recently stopped working, specifically the middle of the touch screen and also the home and back buttons at the bottom. can anyone tell me what parts i need to get? is it just the digitizer or will the bottom 4 keys require a separate part?

Hope someone can help me out with this...
I am looking for a application that will let me/us to use the touch screen as navigation button.
For example, if I draw a less than sign (<) then the phone will treat that as a "back" button.
The main reason is that the back, and home keys on my phone are broke. They are hardware broke and not functioning at all. I am looking for a alternative ways...

All the soft touch buttons and bottom part of the touch screen are not working... I desperately need help.... I couldnt open applications screen nor settings through menu.... need Help...

^Most likely it seems that your touchscreen has been damaged. If your cell is still under warranty, then just go to your nearest Samsung Service Center and you can get it replaced for free.
My phone has a crack at the bottom of the screen and it has caused those 4 bottom buttons to not work. The back, home etc. buttons. Are there any custom ROMs or apps that will have the ability to do what these buttons do. The rest of the screen works. Thanks
Think i s launcher can help. Don't think the launcher buttons will show in full screen apps though

There are apps on the market that can do this. I had one, look around on the play store. Its a little arrow, and you tap that for the four buttons. Or, in ics if you get technical you can enable them

Just spoke with Samsung at 1-888-987-4357.
They will repair for $155.
Seems like the way to go if needing repair.
Hi all,
I have built JB for Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" from AOSP. It boots up sucessfully, looks to be working, and by disabling the physical keyboard I can get the keyboard to work on screen.
However, the bar that is usually on the bottom of the actual touch screen is missing. It contains the home button, the back button, and I think the apps button. It's hard to navigate between apps without it.
I was wondering if anyone has encountered something similar to this? Or can suggest a direction to take?

What height is it set at in ROM control ( if AOSP has one )? What dpi are you running at ?

why are home touch buttons covering part of app ? The app is a full screen game that has a chat place and when I open keyboard the home touch buttons showvup on the side with phone or tablet sideways and it covers up part of the app. What could be changed in the app that would fix or make this happen ? is there part of the apk that can be changed for this ?
