Hi,
My question is not regarding interet pass through. My question is that on my phone I cannot get my mobile internet working on my phone.
When I try to tick(select) mobile intyerent option on the phone, it doesn't allow me to change that option. I have read the forum on htc website. I believe that the latest software update for this phone model is the cause behind mobile interent not working on the phone.
I want to know, If anything can be done to solve this issue and get back the mobile interent to work on the phone?
May be by degrading (uninstalling) the software update to the previous version. Any help in this regard would be appreciated.
Regards,
S

Hi,
I got hold of a Samsung i325 smart phone. The phone was hooked up to the Telecom New Zealand network. Of course I couldn't resist the temptation and downloaded and installed the upgrade from the Samsungusa website. After installing I discovered that it was not just an upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.1, but also includes all kinds of settings for some other provider called Sprint.
Before the upgrade the phone would work fine with Simcards from Vodafone and 2degrees.
I tried whatever I could think of, but since the upgrade I can't get the simcards to work.
Is there a way to undo the upgrade?
I have a similar phone which still has the Windows Mobile 6.0 installed. Can I create an image from this phone and copy it onto the other (upgraded) phone?
Or can I make it somehow detect the simcards again under Windows Mobile 6.1? (I do like the added features, like SDHC support, GPS, etc.)
All suggestions welcome..

Sprint is a Cell Company based on the US...they are on a CDMA network hence your issue...go back to the Samsung website and find the ROM for your specific device and cell carrier
Another option is for you to head over to the forum specific for your thread and download a custom ROM for your phone
Hi,
Can you give me a bit more info on where to find the custom ROMs? Any rom to get it to work with random GSM Simcards would be great!
Cheers

Can you give more informatiom?
Is your phone GSM or CDMA?
What ROM are you using?
Have you added any other apps?
Hi! It is important if you can tell us if this is a newer problem or if this had always been the case with your device. Also, if this always happened to your knowledge, can you tell us when you had acquired the device?
Here are a few suggestions:
1) If you can back up all your files/contacts/etc. and try to flash the stock ROM, assuming you are using the original ROM. It could be possible that software could be affecting it. This would be best to wipe evrything away and begin with a cleaner slate.
2) How about, if you can do this on your own, try to install HardSPL, and flashing it to a customized ROM. Chances are if there is a bug in the stock software it could be coming from the stock ROM that is being used (if the first way does not work for you).
3) could it be a virus? I would suggest to install an anti-virus program (I use Lookout Mobile for Windows Mobile - its free and has a pretty good security suite). I can't say how effective its anti-virus program is but it has been pretty good for me. Even install one that is only a trial (ESET for Mobile, Kaspersky for Mobile, etc.) and have it scan your device. If anyone know how good Lookout Mobile is please let me know!
4) Could it be a radio firmware issue? I am not too familiar with this I would hope someone can answer this and maybe they can help you get the proper radio verison and flash it (I believe that you would need to unlock the BIOS - HardSPL basically - to ensure safe flashing of the radio firmware).
5) If the software is not a problem, chances are it could be a hardware issue, as in maybe the GSM chip is bad. I would be more inclined that it is a software problem rather than hardware but you can not rule out hardware.
This is assuming that you are using the GSM version (not CDMA version as I believe there is a separate forum for that).
I hope i am able to help you! Yes I agree with johnjctt1 - It could be an application you have installed that would be simple enough to rememdy, maybe try uninstalling each app, beginning with the newest one you had installed, and try data/voice simultaneously to see if an app was causing the reboot of the device.
Good luck and let us know the progress! This is the best advice I can give you without knowing a little more about your device. johnjctt1 was correct in asking those set of questions. I love how we all can support one another!
Hey guys. Just put android on my htc everything works so smooth, Really love it. The only problem is my internet is not working. When its connected to wi-fi its all peachy, But when i try to use my mobile internet ( Vodafone ) It just wont work, Anyone could help me? I've been searching for hours now =(

I'm really desperate

I have a samsung focus s unlocked that i am using with family mobile whish is powered by t mobile. Everthing works fine and I only get edge speeds. Its my girlfriends phone and she really loves it except one problem she can send or receive Picture messages. Is there anything I can do to get it to work? I have searched everything I can find and nothing works. If someone could help me figure this out I would happy to send them $20 paypal. Thanks for any help
Is it that you have tried and were not able to send, or you did not know how to send?
If it is the latter, then this might help.

Sorry if that was not what you were searching for. Good luck.
Samsung has a network configuration app in their section of the Marketplace. Actually, I think they have two, one for second-gen phones (like your girlfriend's) and one for gen1 phones. If you use the app, it should be possible to configure your phone's MMS APN (which is often different from the data APN) using that. I know that Simple Mobile is in the list for the equivalent HTC app...
If that doesn't work, it *is* possible to change the configuration manually, but it will require some hackery. Has the phone been interop-unlocked (using WindowBreak, most likely)? I don't know what the correct provisioning info for Simple Mobile is, but I could probably pull it out of my HD7 if I had to.
Don't know if this is the right place to post but here we go. I recently updated to the 4.1 SENSE/ 4.0.4 ADROID VERSION yesterday 10/1/12 and my APN for SIMPLE mobile is not working anymore. Every time I select the SIMPLE mobile APN, the 4g turns off then back on and the APN automatically switch back to T-Mobile's APN. I factory rebooted/cleaned it and it is still doing the same thing. It was working properly before the update with. My carrier is simple mobile and my phone is NOT rooted/unrooted.
My questions are:
1.) If the cause is due to the updated version (4.0.4 android/ 4.1 htc), is it possible for me to go back to the previous version?
2.) Can somebody help me out? Any helpful thoughts, comments, input would be appreciative.
this is the 3rd thread in here. for simplemobile..
i figured it out a few days ago... look at my signature...
dont forget the thanks...... button.....
