Hello!
As Sammy accessories are very expensive in my country (80$ for battery) I am thinking to get an original battery from Washington DC as I stay there for a week.
What should be the price of the original battery 2600mah?
Where can I find it?

There are plenty of T-mobile, AT&T, Verizon and Sprint stores in the area - just use the locator on their Web sites. There are Best Buys and Radio Shack stores as well. As always, give them a call to ensure they have the battery in stock before heading out.
A convenient alternative is ordering from Amazon and have it shipped to wherever you stay. If you have a relative who is an Amazon Prime member, he/she can add you for free and you get free Prime shipping.

Any info on the price?
I am afraid to get a fake battery on Amazon
Hi! Welcome to DC! Actually, I've got my back-up Samsung (proprietary) battery from Amazon and even my ZeroLemon's. They're both authentic AFAIK though YMMV... But i guess you may just have to look around to check the seller's feedbacks/ review at amazon.
But like Lost said those are pretty much the stores you can snag one during your stay here! And second on that about giving 'em a call first before going to their store just to make sure they've got 'em in-store.
Ask the hotel front desk if they will accept packages for you. Then just find the best deal online and have it delivered to the hotel while you're staying there?

I'm in the DC area, and I actually have a spare battery from having my phone replaced last week. It's only about a month or so old, and was working perfectly for me (the exchange was the result of a defect with the phone itself). I have no need for it, and I'll send it wherever you want. Let me know!
Edit: Oh god, this is my first actual post. I've been lurking for years...

Sorry, yes, edited original post.
BUMP!!!
...and, Doh!!! I paid £480 for mine about 7 weeks ago. Sigh. I wonder if people have stopped buying them because of some of the possible issues!
just found it on hotdeals! posted by..... you nice

You got to love and hate hotdeals.
It is without doubt a bargain, if you want one and can afford it, I believe that people on that site just vote cold on anything they dont want or cant afford or dont understand, shame really.

Thanks for that - i've been waiting for play.com to have a 10% discount which would have only bought the price down to £432(approx).
This is a great price - i only hope they don't say its a mistake as it looks like one (its cheaper than the Diamond which is £363.39).
It Should arrive on Thursday - just ordered it now.

I've decided to give a WM phone a go again and ordered myself.
To start with I'll just use it with a data sim, to see what its like, as you can't knock a blackberry for staying in touch with IM etc, but Im just so bored of the crap browser experience and lack of software like Live Mesh, which I use one hell of a lot to keep things synced.
I'll use both for a few weeks and see how it goes.
Looks like they have discovered it - gone back up to £466.89 without postage.
Good thing i bought mine
LOL! I don't feel so sick now ; )
spark9990, when your new pro arrives, please could you take a look at what version ROM it ships with now? (start/settings, system tab, device information - though I'm sure you'll know that already). Congratulations on getting such a great price!!!

Yes and mines on tracking so give them credit for keeping the price for those that bought.
I've used them many times actually and they always have been good.

Mine as well, mine was at the delivery depot.
Not even a offer of a good will gesture, I'm going to check out if they can do that, especially I can prove it was out for delivery.

Had they sent emails to you both confirming dispatch? If so then then I guess they had entered into a contract with you... talk to Trading Standards for a firm answer....

I don't have proof of that - but i do have a receipt, and they did take money out of my account.
Then without my permission carried out a refund transaction. I trying to find out how to contact trading standards but in the mean time i am going to try to reason with sellers.
In a retail store, if a product is tagged as a cheaper price by mistake, then the retailer has to give it at that price.
If Handtec had debited your back account/credit card account, then they had entered into a contract with you to supply that item at that price. Speak to both Trading Standards and Handtec about it and make sure you can demonstrate that they had taken your dosh. All you did is select a product on Handtec's website in good faith and, for their part, it would appear that they too entered into that contract to suppply it, so I suggest they honour it!
EDIT: http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk, and they should have an entry in your local phone book. Kent is 0845 7585497 (just in case - good luck!)

Thats not true. Most big stores (such as Tesco) will sell you at the quoted price for the good will. By Law they infact have something like 24 hours to correct the price once notified by a customer, during which time they can sell at a different price than is quoted.
That is really bad!
I thought maybe it had something to do with stock levels, but if it got to the depot, you think they would have realised!
Hope you get a response from them or Trading Standards
so the nexus store is shut down. there doesn't seem to be a way to buy the official desktop dock anymore. is it for sale anywhere else for the same price?
I was wondering the same thing I wanted to get the car dock too.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Call HTC. They may be able to shed some light on the situation.
Glad I got my car dock a couple weeks ago.
A Google employee just recently posted on the official Google Android forums and he had this to say:
"Sorry guys. Now that the web store is closed you can't buy any accessories from Google. Your only option at this time is to buy from third party resellers if you're so inclined. Thanks for supporting the Nexus One!
All the best,
Ry Guy"
Sucks for me, as I was hoping to buy the car dock in the near future.
Was it ever possible to order the docks directly from htc? I'd rather avoid the ebay gouging that's bound to start now.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Darn... So far I haven't been able to find any of the two docks for a normal price (i.e. the price google charged for them).
On ebay I found some US sellers that add 15, 20, 25 USD above the google retail price. Over here in Europe expansys sells, for instance, the desk docks for the (imho) staggering amount of USD 88!!
Any tips would be highly appreciated though!
What are the odds that the following battery is real?
http://cgi.ebay.ca/Original-OEM-Bat...Accessories&hash=item3a5cb74a64#ht_2432wt_912
$5.99 + $3.99 SH for the OEM battery???
Jesus ****ing christ Google, could you **** this up any worse
I am not happy about the way this whole thing has been handled. The car dock took FOREVER to come out, then it was out what 2 months before they shut down the store?
Jesus christ.
i wont lie, this is some bull**** right here... I'm on my original battery and I can tell it doesnt have its good ole charge anymore, was looking to get another one and possibly the desktop dock as well but now we are **** out of luck...
i was going to buy the car dock yesterday, but hesitated. now the store shut today. luckily i found one on ebay for $75. not too bad imo. im willing to spend the few extra bucks. there arent going to be many of these available. i would find one while you still can
I ordered the car dock last night on a whim..... Thank goodness for that. A little bit of a shock to wake up this morning to find the store closed!

HTC Accessory Support
I spoke to an HTC representative this morning to attempt to purchase an original desktop dock for my Nexus One. I called 888-716-3594, a number I read about calling in another XDA Nexus thread.
I was told HTC is gearing up to support Nexus One accessory sales very soon. Calls demand at this number have been many I am told. the representative said to give a few more days, and to monitor the HTC web site "Product Sales".
Waiting to see how true it might be.

Hopefully it happens. If not, Google has royally shafted Nexus One users. I just got my Nexus One right before the store closed down. It sucks that I'm not able to get the desktop dock or a spare battery (should I need one) from them anymore.
I was thinking I would not be able to get my hands on either of these accessories until I read what you posted. Crossing my fingers for HTC supporting Nexus One accessory sales.
i will <3 htc forever if they allow us to buy accessories straight from them. I dont' see why they wouldn't...they still probably have stock of docks and batteries, since they were OEM supply. i imagine they just need to set up the products on their stores.

Really hope this works out!
I just got off the phone with HTC and they said there's no way to buy any of the accessories for the Nexus One, and the rep was unable to give me any information about future availability. She only said the phone was "no longer available in North America."
Sucks.
I found a place to get the desktop dock, but unfortunately the car dock is not available!
Heres the link.
negrielectronics.com/google-nexus-one-desktop-dock.html
THEY HAVE NEXUS ONES T-MOBILE AND AT&T TO BUY TOO!
FFS.. I knew I should have bought a second N1 I really want both the docks now but live in Australia so it's (WAS!) extortion getting them here.. :'(
I just picked up my second G tab from the Sears in Scranton PA. Ordered from searsoutlet for 279. This one is a gift for my brother.
When I got to the customer pickup the lady said that "they don't get stuff from sears outlet" and that the tablet she got for me was from a pile of other tablets.
The package was unopened...and when i unboxed the tablet it looked completely untouched.
So bottom line is..I got a brand new tablet for 279.
Im not sure what the deal is with the searsoutlet but i know that tabs pop up a lot...and I don't see how they could have been sent back and forth to China for refurbishing?..? scratching head
Great price for new or like new viewsonic. Congrats!

I am in Florida, and would love to get one at that price plus shooing, and your gas money of course.
Holy crap! I'm going to return mine to Staples but I can't find the Holy crap! receipt!
I just got a return too $279.
Damn! That is some discount. I'm going to have to run by the Sears Outlet near me to see what I can find. Thanks for the tip!
I tried to price match with Staples since I ordered mine from there last week but they said they couldn't since it says it's reconditioned not new. That's a good deal but probably too much hassle for me to return it and then buy it again from Sears.
I am in Ohio, too. Where did you get yours in Ohio? Sears store or outlet store? Thanks.
Reading this again, it looks like you ordered online at searsoutlet.com then pickup at a regular sears store? Is that what you did?
Looking at searsoutlet.com now, while I can search for "viewsonic" and it shows the gtablet, it doesn't provider any further details. I'm minutes away from an Sears Outlet store that I'll stop by after work and see what they have in stock.
Can someone provide more details on this? Are we sure its a new device or is it refurb? I just got mine @ Sears for $379...
related question
What I am wondering is, are the refurbs/returns listed on the sears outlet site the only ones? So if I walk in to the nearest sears, where there are none listed according to sears outlet, do I have a chance of finding one?

Really? I am to, and I picked mine up at Ross Park Mall in the North Hills (Sears).. They should have some left, unless they were cleaned out in less than 24 hours. Good luck!
I heard about this, checked it out online, and it said the closest available one was in Upstate NY...I am in Philadelphia.
Luckily I have family right near the store in UNY, so I had it picked up for me.
Within minutes of getting the message that it was picked up. I checked the web site, and the closest available was now in Alabama. Act fast.
Is anyone else having troubles getting the product to display on the Sears Outlet site today?
Wondering if it's just me...

Was the one you got in Ross Park Mall refurbished/returned?
I got mine in Beaver Valley Mall ~9 days ago just bc I was visiting family. I'm in greenfield so it's a hop skip and a jump (pray dear Lord there is no ice flood or snow)
Obviously, most of us would much rather return there ~$430-$480 purchase and buy one that costs under ~$300!! i'm gonna check searsoutlet again. maybe i'll stop at the outlet on Main Street in Lawrenceville on the way to Children's.
could anyone possibly order it for me in USA and send it over to UK (I will pay all the costs, it will still probably work out cheaper)?
I'm going to write up a separate thread on SEARS Outlet

I know all about how this works - my device was a "refurb".
@roebeet, thanks for clarifying about the refurb as that was my main question.

A little Craigslist tip, send your seller multiple extremely low offers from separate email accounts, lower his confidence a little before going in for the real but still below value offer.

I usually sell mine on Ebay and buy them on craigslist or Ebay.
Swappa.com is another. It's where I bought my Thunderbolt.
You can also sell your used/broken phone at Buy Back Pros other than Amazon or eBay. I can say this because I also sold my broken phone at Buy Back Pros where I got a very good price there even all beyond my expectations. They provide me free pickup and also the 30 days money guarantee
What's the chance for us early adopter to get a refund? Or are we Sol?
The facebook post says early adopters get a 200 dlls coupon. That could bring the cost of the phone to 300!
They better release the dock before then. =/

While it's nice for them to offer this to us early adopters, it really doesn't benfit us unless they release the dock or other accessories by Dec 15th.
Well, my wife is really enjoying her phone... May pick up a white one for 299 with the code...I think that it's a great value at that price...
Oh, great idea, the white one is a nice idea... lol
Still waiting on them to release the gray and green version. Already have the phone so I am waiting for the dock and or smart home hub. It's nice that they at least gave us early adopters a bone. But without new accessories it really is a waste for us. They have dropped the ball before, so hoping they don't do it again. :/ They have allot of potential I just hope they get there. Also hopefully the lower price leads to more developers jumping in on the device and helping to get the developer section in this community going.
Oh, to have one of those codes. Id then go out on a limb and buy one of these great looking phones.
So tempted, but just not enough at $500.

I literally bought and paid for a phone off ebay saturday night. the seller shipped it and said he would not work on price.

I did not. the seller had the phone until this morning. i asked for the IMEI and he said i would get it when it comes in the mail. so basically can't make the request until i get the imei. i have sneaky suspicion that he may have claimed.... he knew all about the promotion when i sent him a message.
I am just going to get another phone.
I don't think I'm going to bother with the charging pad if they release it in time seeing I keep the phone in a case anyway.
