[Q] need help getting .tar file for odin (n8013) - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

my wifi here sucks, so I cant download the stock firmware for the n8013. the file is too big. however, it is my understanding that all I need is the .tar file to flash the stock firmware via odin. Im trying to unbrick my device and im told this is how to do it.. Since I cant download the whole file, and im told all I need is the .tar file, could someone post that file to here? itd be greatly appreciated.

There are more than one stock firmwares for your model, so i don' t think anyone will be able to help you with that request.
Furthermore, why do you think you will have an easier time downloading the same file from this forum instead of the original place?
All you need to do is Download the correct file, from samfirmware.com, on your PC and use Odin to flash it to your tablet/note.
It's useless, IMHO, to Download it on your tablet because you will still need to transfer it to your PC to use it...
(You can register a free account on samfirmware to be able to download)

Well that's all for now, 3M

Also downloaded the latest firmware from sammobile.com/firmware
The firmware consists of a .tar.m5 file of size around 350mb.
but now they ask me to browse to the CSC, PDA AND PHONE files.
Which are these? and where can I get those?
Thanks.

just out of curiousity, what is this 3 part firmware?
i have a file called P6200XXLQ1_P6200OXALQ1_ATO.zip which contains a file called P6200OXALQ1_P6200XXLQ1_P6200XXLQ1_HOME.tar.md5 that can be flashed with odin.

The 3 part Firmware contains pit, modem etc
Flashing the one part FW (maybe the one you´ve got) is successfull. So it might be a problem with pit...
unfortunately i´m not quite sure if i explain it right...
actually.. the tar.md5 is the actual firmware that you need to flash via odin.
The pit file is called the partition information table. This contains the information that odin needs to repartition your device if it has some major issues with it.
during the flashing procedure for upgrading to HC or ICS the pit file is not really needed - there is no repartitioning necessary (if your tab is working properly)...
its only needed in a dead device for recovery purposes (to my understanding at least).
Thats the problem: the Tablet is not working. I can flash the 1 Part Firmware with the download mode but it doesnt boot. Somebody told me, that i need a 3 Part Firmware

please help me asap thanks

but there should be many img files

system.img
boot.img
recovery.img etc
if these all you got, then try to flash via any software, which can flash them in your phone.

Odin is the only way.
Try these troubleshooting steps for a failed Odin flash.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/guide-t2345831
Odin can still flash the device while in the "encountered an issue, connect to Kies" screen.

There should be a 3 letter code that represents the country/region/carrier for each firmware version.
Find the newest version for your model number that matches your country/region/mobile carrier.

I usually recommend a version of Odin that was released shortly after the device was released because those versions were updated to be compatible with the device, whereas newer versions of Odin are less compatible with devices that were released a year or more before it.

As long as what you flash is for your specific device model number and your region/carrier you should be fine.

The custom ROM that you tried to flash, was it for your model number? Or was it for a different device?
Try different USB ports, try a different PC, try a different cord.
If all else fails, try finding a copy of your device's PIT file and flash that in Odin along with the stock firmware. Place the firmware where it goes then place the PIT in the pit tab in odin, make sure the "re-partition" option is checked in Odin then start.

Hello, This could be kind of weird but
Download the Unified Android tool kit
Do a copy of the frimware you want to flash
remove the .md5 extension from the file name of the new file
the image file should now transfer into a zip file
extract it in the Unified Android tool kit INPUT folder
Run the ToolKit
it will do an update check
now type 99 and press enter
a list of choices will appear choose the " create tar files from image files" it's maybe number 8 as i remember
now choose to make a separate tar files of each image file
once done , the tar files will be placed in the OUTPUT folder
try to flash System tar file alone without the other partitions.

There is no Pit partition..

I tried to install superSu via samsung odin, but it says there is no pit partition. Someone told me that I need pit file for recovering it. Where can I find it?
Are there anyother solution for this?

There is no pit partition. The pit file is a file that describes the partitions on your phone for Odin. It's stored inside your Bootloader but you don't have to worry about that.
If your flashing from Odin it will use your current pit for flashing. If you are installing a new stock rom a pit file comes with it inside the CSC .tar.md5

I don't follow what you mean. Please reread what I said. Pit files are in every single stock rom, inside the CSC_OYM archive
