Hello everyone. I have one question.
Is it possible to import tweaks apk from another rom to the rom you use?
For example, I'm using SVHD rom currently and I'd like the Venom Tweaks in it cause it has almost all the features I need. Im using SVHD just because it's more smooth and games don't lag at all.
I've backed up Venom Tweaks and installed the apk via file explorer but it doesn't load. When I tap it, it just closes after a second or two.
And, in the SVHD Modpack there are not so many features like there are in Venom Tweaks.
Hope you understand what I mean and I hope you have a solution.
What I need mostly: Search key- Recent apps window, Quick Settings- Add/Remove and reposition quick settings, Flashlight in quick settings, Flashlight- long-press Home on lockscreen.
Thanks in advance
I used tweaks from ice ds and blackout on ice cream saga rom
check my topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2482048
you have to copy also Rosie.apk and SystemUI.apk (not only tweaks apk) to make tweaks working

Erm. Could you upload those files if you have them (rosie.apk, tweaks.apk and systemui.apk)? And, where do I place them? Or what should I do with those? Thanks
but you use sense 4 rom and these tweaks that I mentioned are for sense 3.6

Oh. Alright. But.. What should I do with rosie.apk, systemui.apk and tweaks.apk? I have them from Venom (sense 4 rom). Copy paste them and replace existing ones or execute them or flash them or what? Thanks
you can replace them and then reboot phone and check if tweaks work but make nandroid backup before replacing that files, and dont forget to set them correct permissions (644)

So, what I've done is:
1. Extracted Rosie.apk, SystemUI.apk and Venom Tweaks.apk from Venom ROM zip.
2. Replaced them in system/app folder.
3. Set permissions to rw, r, r.
4. Restarted my phone.
And when the phone has restarted, I recieved message that Sense isn't working.
Have I done something wrong? If so, what and how to fix that?
I have backed up my rom, and I'll restore it, just, what to do?
Thanks
it isnt compatible with your rom
venom is full sense while svhd is lite

Instead of choosing the rom from the list, just upload a copy of your framework-res.apk and the systemUI.apk. That takes away some of the guesswork. Also add the com.htc.resources.apk if you are running a sense rom.

Whenever I have trouble with the UOT Kitchen...I upload my own files instead of using the files they have.
Try uploading your own framework-res.apk and systemui.apk. I think if its a Gingerbread sense ROM you also have one more file you have to upload.
From the UOT Kitchen How To:
Files you need to upload:
Froyo rom: framework-res.apk
Gingerbread rom: framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk
Gingerbread with sense rom: framework-res.apk, SystemUI.apk and com.htc.resources.apk
Cyanogenmod7 rom: Cyanbread.apk or Androidian.apk or any theme for ThemeChooser (rename as you like it to apear in theme menu)
How do I upload these files. I'm still somewhat new to this.

download Root Explorer or File Expert from the Market (I personally use File Expert...its a free app...does everything Root Explorer does). Navigate to your Root directory...thats where you will find these files. When you find them...copy and paste them to your desktop. That way when you get to that point with the Kitchen, you can easily find them to upload.
I had the same problem. You need to disable the battery percentages in the build.prop file. See the OP and then reboot. Problem solved.

So its the framework.jar file you use? Cos my stock rom does not seem to have a framework apk file in the framework folder so i used the framework-res.apk
Works
Oh nevermind. Tried with the framework-res.apk and it worked. Thanks anyway.
Yes,you need to upload systemui.apk
maybe someone can post his litle work ?)
My little work
Experimented with both methods, uploading all 3 files and just uploading framework file. Second method worked. This is the battery i made using the kitchen. I am also running stock sense 2.3.3 on my desire s.

Copy anywhere to SD, reboot into clockwork recovery, clear cache and davlik then apply update.

Anyone can upload all the 3 stock file heres?

com.htc.resource.apk
SystemUI.apk
or anyway i can extract/get myself
Many thanks
You can find them all using an app like astro file manager. Just copy to your SD card and then to pc. Location of files can be found with Google..l

Works also with v1.47 rom , but framework from stock and 1.47 have different filesize (the uot-generated zip also is different). Once installed i've noticed no differences, but is better to install a proper 1.47 based battery

I've been using the kitchen on my Desire S since i got S-Off, not exactly a revelation that it works, it'll probably work on any HTC as long as you upload the required files.
I haven't seen this around, so I went ahead and made this for myself, and I decided to share it with anyone who wants it...
I hate the Recent Apps section of the Notification Bar Dropdown... so I removed it.
I wanted the Recent Apps to be removed without having to flash a complete ROM or use some theme.
1. Flash the attached file in CW Recovery
2. Clear Cache and Dalvik Cache
3. Reboot
4. Profit (It will remove the recent apps section)
There are no side-effects that I have noticed.
It was made from the SystemUI.apk from the stock US 2.3.4 Build, and should work on any 2.3.4 build for the Sensation.
There are no other changes in this from stock 2.3.4 besides removing the Recent Apps.
It will work alongside the Battery Mods I made with no issues... One mod does not affect the other.
Let me know if you have any issues.
As always, I'm not responsible if your phone breaks beyond repair and you lose all your data.
Thanks to j4n87 for the smali change required.
Work for me on EagleBlood rom.
It would be helpful.

Hi,
thanks for this mod. As always all actual modifications in existing SystemUI.apk are changed by this installation.
I took both of your modified files in my tiwili-installation method. So all other existing files in SystemUI.apk will rest in peace.
I publish it here because it´s your work, your files; It took 5 minutes for me, that´s nothing to be proud of...

EQS-Mod + Recent App
Hey
What do i do if i want the Recent App, with EQS-Mod ?
thanks...... I'll try this app
If any of you want to do it youself.....
1.Pull Systemui.apk from system/app
2.Decompile SystemUI.apk
3.navigate to com/android/systemui/statusbar
3.open up StatusBarFlag.smali using notepad or notepad++ (recommended)
4.Around line 89 (using notepad++) you should see this:
Code:
sput-boolean v0, Lcom/android/systemui/statusbar/StatusBarFlag;->HTC_RECENT_APP:Z
5. Change v0 to v2.
6. Recompile Systemui.apk and push via adb to system/app or copy to system/app using root explorer.
**NOTE**If using root explorer make sure to set permissions as Owner = Read/Write Group = Read Others = Read. A reboot will be required after pasting SystemUI.apk before you can change persmissions.
7. Reboot and your done!
same outcome for me with p3d had to reflash to get extended settings

Sounds like you have decompiled SystemUI.apk incorrectly and then not signed it before pushing it. What method did you use for decompiling the APK?
I'm having some trouble with decompiling the SystemUI.apk. I get a bunch of "Invalid config flags detected" error when I try to load the com.htc.resources.apk framework; when I try to recompile I get a handful of other errors (related I'd imagine) and it doesn't recompile. Googled around a bit, found similar problems but no answers - any advice?

Update v2
Ported to v4! New installer as well called Aroma. This installer includes touchdrivers and I've calibrated it for our device as well as added our hardwarebuttons in case you like using Vol up/down to navigate, lol. Mind you, the Note has horrible recognition at the edges of the screen. Anyways... No need to flash the stock look theme as this already does that. Added touchwiz themed dialer. I've added a fully working S Voice with correct voice as opposed to the other APKs out there. This one is just fine and does not use Googles TTS.
If you have ANY new system app installed this will FAIL! From a fresh install to S Voice instead of Media I only had 8k free in /system. It won't be much more if you chose Media instead of Audio.
WORDS OF CAUTION:
Look. RRv4 is a TW rom, meaning it's a huge-ass rom. Because of it, you'll have to choose between installing S Voice or the SIII audio files. If you try to install both you'll get an error and you'll be stuck with no audio... If you WANT to install both, you CAN if you pre-emptively delete /system/media/audio folder and a few APKs in /system/app before installing this zip. Or you can MOVE the apks over as data apps. Anyways, that's why I can only condone installing this after a CLEAN install. You can still install the theme no problems, but choosing either S Voice or Media without having sufficient space... yeah.
ALWAYS CHOOSE TO SAVE LOG JUST IN CASE SOMETHING GOES WRONG!
If after choosing reboot it goes back to Recovery with an error, send me your logfile.
S Voice instructions:
Go to settings
Go to Language and input
Go to Voice recognition
Change to Samsung powered by Vlingo
Go to Text-to-speech output
Change to Samsung TTS
Have fun with the Siri-wannabe
After bootup, go to Play Store and install YouTube. I had to delete it as System app because of size constraints.

Tons of quick updates.
EDIT ADD: Do not install these if you're on Rocket Rom v2. Will update it tomorrow for v2.
Nice job!! Love the SIII Icons! my NoteSIII homescreen is now complete! the only problem is that the systemUI.apk is causing my com.android.phone process to FC.
A question...whats the difference between the stock SystemUI.apk and the new SystemUI.apk?
What rom are you running? That APK only has a few icons changed. Mainly the Settings icon in notification area and other places. It's not an important APK for desktop-aesthetics, really. Hope you backed up your old one.
I'm running stock ICS LPY. I backed all the APK's before i replaced them. Returned the old SystemUI.apk and Phone.apk and all is fine now
can this be done on midteam roms 1.3 or 1.4.

I didn't change the internet icon as it's almost exactly the same, but I'm doing it in the next update. I don't think any other icons are missing, but if someone notices - please, do tell.
Also, if someone has used ZipThemer before, please help me out in here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26503477&postcount=236
I see that Kalagas has made his theme flashable with ZipThemer, but mine doesn't apply (though I get no error and it seems to be flashing just fine). I've tried putting his update-binary and phoneDatabase in the edify folders, but that just softbricked my phone.
Added flashable zip for latest Rocket Rom v2. Open with 7zip and remove SystemUI.apk and the folder "framework" if you're not on Rocket Rom v2. May also need to remove Phone.apk if you have FCs with Phone.
Updated to 1.4.1 with battery fix.
Working on landscape for 1.5
flashed on LP8 lost status bar
Says XXLPY on thread title.
Anyways, copying over a fresh SystemUI.apk from your roms .zip file (just extract it and place it in /system/app and correct permissions) should clear that up. If not, it's framework-res.apk in /system/framework. Can't remember where the statusbar is located.
why is wallpaper scrolling different? in previous TW, once the wallpaper is scrolled to the right end, it scrolls back to the left end of the wallpaper but this TW it instantly shows the first left end after scrolling through the right end of wallpaper. Not saying the transition is wrong but it doesn't look attractive without scrolling back.
That's just how it works. Until someone creative finds a nice fix, we'll have to live with it. :/ I only use 1 page so I hadn't noticed it myself, but others have taken notice before.
Hello,
as we know the stock values HTC set for autobrightness are very high, expecially for low light indoor use. I patched those values directly in the system file that manages autobrightness. I also patched the capacitive buttons's backlight, so that it switches on only in the dark.
I'm now using the stock 2.31 rom (ICS 4.0.4) because I prefer it over JB. So my patched file only works on stock 4.0.4 rom.
Edit: I've now modded the file for JB users!
How to apply:
1) download the attached file (matching your rom's version number) and unzip it.
2) put the apk file on your sdcard. Don't rename the file, of course!
3) boot into recovery.
4) check that "system" and "data" are mounted and, if they aren't, mount them.
5) go to /system/framework and backup the existing "framework-res.apk".
6) move my patched apk into /system/framework and overwrite the existing one.
How to go back to stock values:
same procedure as above, just move into /system/framework your backup of the original framework-res.apk
MD5:
"ICS 2.31 autobrightness.zip": 95ffc61b52142d3f4c61f4bc841a99ef
"JB 3.16.401.8 autobrightness.zip": 345d5f5065a53fc23d2f7677246478d3
"JB 3.16.401.9 autobrightness.zip": 39152d930b3a5996d9535b15ec8aad48
As requested, here is the modded file for the stock odexed JB rom. I didn't test it myself, since I'm on ICS, so make a backup of the original framework-res.apk first, in case something goes wrong. Apply the mod as per previous post, just using the following file. Please note this is NOT a flashable zip, you just need to unzip it and use the apk inside.
Let me know how it goes.

I think the main problem is that you are on CM, that is all different than sense. The framework-res.apk (odex or deodexed) would be totally different, I guess.

First off, it would not go in /system/app/...it would be /system/framework/, besides that, as stated, cm and sense cannot interchange framework files. You could probably edit the cm framework in a similar way though, but in cm10.1, can't you already adjust the auto brightness values? I know on DX you can.

When checking if your Rom is deodexed or odexed you need to look at system/app ( thats what i read on the internet atleast ). Never spoke of putting the .apk in the system/app folder.
There is indeed a function in CM10.1 where you can adjust the auto brightness levels, thanks for mentioning that one!

Very unlikely. If your rom is deodexed, then no for sure.To have a hope you would need a sense odexed rom, and even in that case you would need to compare its framework-res.apk with the stock one to see if it has been modded.

Very unlikely. If your rom is deodexed, then no for sure.To have a hope you would need a sense odexed rom, and even in that case you would need to compare its framework-res.apk with the stock one to see if it has been modded.

Strange, because I dropped the low light values, leaving the two upper values as they were. For me in outdoor in a moderately sunny day, the brightness jumps up to maximum, even if the phone is not directly exposed to sun.
Hi guys, i need help as i made a great mistake. I was trying to change framework.res.apk to get a lower screen light. I couldn't locate it using the recovery (twrp 2.3.3.3) so i did it with solid explorer. It worked the first time but the light was too low, so i trying putting back the original file and the phone rebooted and now it's stuck on HTC ONE screen. The problem is that, using recovery, i can't find the file, in the folder there is nothing
Is there any way to push it via ADB?

Thanks, that was the problem and i figured it out after some time. I changed the file but i'm still stuck at boot
Maybe you unwillingly delete/overwrite some other files?
You can try to clear cache/dalvik, but if there were some major problems you aren't going to fix anything this way... You must try to understand the exact steps you made.
