How to keep screen on SW1? - Sony Smartwatch

I have the original Sony Smartwatch and there is a watch app for the Endomondo sports tracker available when you install the app on the phone.
I use this for when I go running. However, I have just bought an armband for my phone that I can wear when I run. I won't be able to check distance or start/stop workouts from here, so would like to do it from my Smartwatch.
Problem is, the screen only stays on a few seconds! During a run, it's hard to wake it up doing all the crap you have to do (double tapping the screen, despite what Sony says, rarely seems to work) It would be ideal if I could get the screen to stay on whilst the Endomondo watch app was up and running. Is there any way around this problem?
Thanks

Time catches up when waking

anyone else using watch styler notice than when you use one of the custom watch faces from like gearfaces.com, everytime you wake, the time is at where it was before the screen shut off, and then it jumps to the current time. it only seems to do this with watch styler watches, and not as bad as ones downloaded from the store or anything. watcher does it sometimes, but it doesn't look as bad.
any way to get it to keep track while it's asleep? i like this rolex theme, but it looks awful everytime i turn it on and it has to catch up

How to stop s-health cycling recognition?

Hi to all.
I've a little problem: I go to work with a motorcycle and my S2 recognize it as a sporty activity (cycling): is there a way to stop this behaviour?
Thanks

GS, I'm with you. I have the exact same problem. Every day I have to zero out the record for that day and then I turn off the cycling tracker (hoping that it just might stay disabled, but of course it never does). I wish there was a way to permanently disable this tracker, as I seldom ride a bicycle and could easily do without tracking this activity...
There automatic activity recognition settings in S Health. Just go to settings
Sorry but I don't have this option...
It seems that you can disable all automatic detections, and that you can not select with detection disable...

I have this same issue, the only solutions I've found are:
1) Download S-Health and disable it through manage items, but that does nothing.
2) Contact Samsung for support, which I've read is basically the first solution.
I want to set my watch for all my notifications but I think it's weird how you can't disable a function like that. I also tried factory resetting my watch to no avail...
Same problem here.
I don't want to disable cycling because i DO cycle sometimes and want to record it.
What annoys me is everytime I step in my car or ride a motorbike it detects me as cycling for a few hours.
Seems to be no way to disable it.
Anyone found a fix?
I'm still having the same problem. Strangely, it only seems to happen in my truck. When I drive the sedan, nothing happens and my watch works as intended. i'm not sure what I do in the truck that has my watch convinced I'm cycling down the highway at 70 MPH.
I've had to run off auto-detect which makes me sad because I forget to log my walking and my elliptical all the time. The watch we very good at detecting these 2 activities.
For future users who end up here with a google search:
the workout auto-detection settings are not the the S-Heath (or now "Samsung Health") app on your phone, they are in the S-Heath app that's on the watch itself. In last screen, "settings"

Last used app after screen turns off

I used this feature on Gear S and i used it on Gear S3 until the last update. Now it seems to be missing or i am blind.
To be exact - when you start an app, ie. timer, it displays the count down. Screen goes off (in my case displays AOD watchface), then you raise your watch ant it was back to timer app, now it just displays a watch and you have to fiddle with it to go to the recent apps. It drives me crazy. Am i missing something or it has been fu**ed by the last update?
Are you using a Samsung phone or another phone? I read issues like this before with users who have the watch paired with another phone that's not a Samsung. I have an S7 edge and my timer stays on if I have it running and leave it there.
S7 Edge....
The app stays fir maybe 30 seconds after the screen goes into AOD. Then disappears....
But before last update it was staying up until i swiped down from the top on it....
After reboiting both devices timer stays... But 3rd party app no...
With my HTC 10 it doesn`t go unfortunately.
I would like to use it with the MP3 player.
It`s really a s....

Help with Strava and HW2 please.

Currently using Strava to track my cycling and finding in general The HW2 works pretty well, especially how easy it syncs to my phone afterwards. Seems to track pretty accurately with my favourite walks and rides. I am having two problems that hopefully someone can help with;
1. Whilst cycling the ride pauses occasionally when I have not pressed pause on screen. Does one of the physical buttons pause the session? Am I catching the button when descending over bumpy sections or climbing out of the saddle. I have considered wearing the watch upside down, so the buttons don’t catch the back of my hand. Has anyone got any other ideas?
2. The distance on my watch displays distance in kilometres but I would like this to be in miles. Can this be changed and do I do this on the Strava on my watch or my phone?
Thanks in advance.

i haven't used Strava, but may consider.
i use Map My Run - and that automatically pauses when it detects that I am NOT moving. So it could be a GPS signal thing. I would imagine to change the measure to miles, you could do that within the phone app (imperial).
Thanks for that. Found Strava settings in the app on the watch and changed units to imperial. Just discovered the bottom button on the watch pauses and resumes the work out. So it looks like I will have to wear the watch a bit looser or where it upside down. Not ideal but should work.

Question Notification Auto Workout Running / Tracking.

I got a question. On my old Gear S3 when i enabled auto workout detection and started running, after 10 minutes my watch said "Keep it up!" And i could track how long i was running and stuff. Is there a way to have this on my Watch 4? Cause it does auto track my workouts but i cannot track em trough my watch and it does not pop up after running for 30minuted and stuff while i'm exercising. Thanks for the help!
Nobody?
I was using this option long time ago. If I remember well you can switch on Auto detect Activities in Settings - Samsung Health . Watch detects only walking and running, after ~10 minutes. Tracking screen should pop up or there will be small Activiti icon at screen bottom. Just touch it to see full tracking.
