[SOLVED] Diverted Call/Waiting Call information

Though it's not a new thing, I was very surprised that nobody have or made such an application. There are several topics on XDA related to this subject, in none there is given an answer or solution.
What I am talking about? I am talking about the display of an indicator (graphic and/or text) to show if an incomming call is diverted from another number (say you have one number that is diverted on your actual one and someone is calling the first one) or if you call somebody and your call is "waiting" cause the other party is already in a call (and has call waiting function active on his phone).
These are two things that are present in most Nokia phones, some Samsung or LG have it and also some Sony Ericsson. But I never saw it on an Android phone (maybe the Samsung owners have it, I don't know)
Is there so hard to make such an application for Android? I'm sure alot of us needs it and will even pay for it (I will). There was something created for WinMo devices called O2 Plus V2.3 that offered this functionality, I can hardly believe there's noone that can make something similar for Android. I've created a similar topic in the Legend subforum but...nothing.
This can help alot for ex if you have two numbers, a business and a personal one, and after working hours you're closing the business phone and divert it to your personal number. In case someone is calling, it's good to know if it was calling on your personal number or maybe on your business one....and there are many samples like this.
If the guys made it for WinMo devices (PPC) I'm sure it can be made for Android as well.

OK. So I've partially solved the issues. Or should I say it was solved by itself.
Doing some tests today, I saw that THERE IS an diverted call notification on my phone.
It's not included in the Android itself, nor in the dialer but I found that is showing when I receive a call made to one of my diverted numbers.
I think it is MIUI related, it is the only ROM on which this was happening. I've tested with CM7.1 right now and regardless of which number I call (the "active" one or the "diverted" one), the incoming call display looks the same. For MIUI though, things are different, there is an "Forward incoming call(s)" row below the displayed number.
I've made several tests and for sure it is indicating when you are called directly or on another number that is diverted on your number. I also attached two print screens for the normal call and the diverted one.
Maybe some other MIUI owners can confirm this, but till now no other ROMs are offering this (as far as I know) and this will make happy alot of people. Still there's no notification in case you are calling someone and you are "waiting" but that was not as important as this one.
you might want to ask a MOd to close the thread as its already solved.

[Q] Use SMS/Whatsapp like iMessage

The problem:
I would like to use SMS/Whatsapp like iMessage; one inbox and when sending auto detect method (SMS/Whatsapp)
I have been googling for this subject for quite a while and I can't seem to find the solution and I really don't (want) to believe that this has not been developed yet; Whatsapp is cross platform and therefore would be better than just iPhone to Iphone, BB to BB etc. How could they not have developed this yet @ Whatsapp...
@admin / mod,
Sorry for placing the question in the wrong section. I can't seem to find out how to move topics either (guess my number of posts clearly reflects my noobism). If needed, could you please move this topic to Q&A
I Think this imposible. Whatsapp it's a third party app. Whatsapp cannot integrate with any brand.
Maybe in the future we use RCS (Rich Communication Suite). It´s a chat system that integrat in any phone.

It's actually perfectly possible. If the whatsapp developers included SMS in their app then it would be what the OP is asking for. It's just a 3rd party SMS app, and there's plenty of them around.
In answer to the OP, get in touch with the whatsapp developers and ask them if they have any plans to integrate SMS. What you're asking does make sense, but it doesn't currently exist, so go suggest it

I've seen all kind of apps 'manipulating' and catching in / out going text messages so whatsapp should be perfectly capable of doing such a think. The thing is; I thought I wasn't looking for it correctly. It simply cannot be that I am the only one thinking about this with the release of iMessage. To bad I cannot code a thing like that but this could be a money bomb if whatsapp fails to take on the market.
Workaround...
i came across the same thing the OP wanted , and its simply not working , whereas if long tap contact > send message > and i choose "viber" , it works perfectly... think its something whatsapp developers have to fix....
workaround....
but , if u click on the contact portrait , then u will have that pop up with all avaliable communication apps , and u click on whatsapp icon , then it will redirect u to that contact's chat window..
i know its not as convenient as setting it the default sms app , but there is nothing we can do about it but waiting for the developers of whatsapp to fix that...i attached a screenshot of it...
hope this helps....
cheers...

[Q] shortcut to a contact with photo on Gear 2

How to make a shortcut to a phone contact with a photo? Maybe known is a widget that supports phone contacts?
You mean you want to make a one touch shortcut on your watch to call someone?
Exactly, but if will be possible to let example for 4 contacts.
its mostly about your general knowledge about the whole android experince. I could do what you ask by using tasker and zoom with tons of other features. it is possible but again it depends on what kind of user you are.
thanks for the great desire. I think with your help I'll be fine. Please try, I'm looking forward.

How to use two accounts in skype on android in the same time

hello.
My question is pretty straightforward. How to add second skype account on android. I want to be online in the same time with 2 accounts !!! Some people said its impossible but I dont believe it. Every normal people should have at least 2 accounts one official and one unofficial - at least. I know microsoft are the stupidest people in the world and they probably will not support such thing like many other useful features. But its extremely useful thing and it shoud exist in some third party app. Now the real question is do you know the name of this app ?
thanks

Which Smartwatch has the best SDK ecosystem?

I want to buy a smartwatch, but I want to develop for it too. Some watches have an SDK, some just say Android Wearable. I don't know what to get. Which smartwatch has the best development ecosystem? I don't want to use Pebble because I need to display images from the Internet for my projects, and as I understand it the Pebble is all color e-ink. The Sony Smartwatch and Samsung have SDKs, the Garmins do, but I don't think the Garmin can display URLs from the Internet (be nice if they could).
If this is the wrong place to post this, please move accordingly. I looked at the Smartwatch forum section, but I did not a general place to ask. I saw Android Wear, but wasn't sure if I should use that one.
Thanks for any help.
