[Q] Stucked in HTC logo - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hello guys, i hope someone can help me. This is my situation:
At the begining i had a stock rom 4.1.1 from AT&T. I succesfully did S-OFF and installed Super CID 1111111. Everything went great but my goal was to install the Germany T-Mobile 4.2.2, so, the next step i did was to follow a tutorial wich guided me to install team win recovery. I copied the rom i mentioned to the sd card and when i tried to flash it failed. So, i did a wipe (Im so stupid ) and now i had no OS. after that, i tried to install ClockWorkMod to follow another tutorial and fix that. I did it using adb but when i tried to reboot in recovery it got stuck in a black screen and i need to push the three buttons for a long time to power it off. Since that, i turn it on, put it in fastboot mode but the console don't even recognize it when i try to use adb (It find no adb devices). So, i did a mess with my phone and i cant find a solution.
Can anyone help me please? Thank you so much guys.
PD: If you need any other details i can let you know anything.

I'm gonna need your bootloader details please. Also, what error did you receive in recovery when trying to flash the T-Mobile ROM?
The reason adb commands aren't working is because you need to use fastboot commands when connected in fastboot mode. I'd suggest flashing TWRP recovery back into the phone, mount the storage, copy a ROM across and flash it.

Is that usefull?
I really dont rememeber exactly, but all i can remember was a Failure red legend in the TWRP. and as i said, i cant get the console to recognize the phone by adb :/
EDIT: i succesfully installed again Team Win Recovery. I moved the EVITA_UL_JB_50_S_TMO_DE_5.08.111.2_By_Turge ROM to the sdcard and try to flash but i it fails in the "Updating partition details...", i cant get any further. No OS.

Yeah that's exactly what I needed to see. Like I said, adb isn't going to work, you need to use fastboot commands. So use fastboot to flash TWRP recovery back onto the phone and try flashing a ROM. If that doesn't work I'd suggest running an RUU.

Hello timmaaa, i really appreciate your help. I did check the md5 checksum and the rom seems to be ok. As i mentioned before, the problems shows up when the flashing process steps to the partition detail "something" process. If you are ok with that, i can let you get into my computer by Teamviewer or some other remote control software so that way you can see anything you need by yourself. I don't know the Team Win Recovery version installed and i'm in my work right know and i didn't bring the htc with me, i'll let you know the version as soon as i get home.

I don't have a PC at the moment so Teamviewer isn't a possibility, just post the TWRP version when you can.

Ok, no problem. The version of TWRP is v2.5.0.0

That's your problem, 2.5 is full of bugs. Download TWRP 2.6 from here. Put the file in your fastboot folder. Connect phone in fastboot mode, open command prompt from within fastboot folder, issue the following commands:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery "filename.img"
(the exact filename, minus the talking marks)
Code:
fastboot erase cache
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Now you can enter recovery on your phone and try again.

S-ON, and the phone is not rooted.
To my knowledge if you are still s-on you need to flash your boot.img every boot. I'm assuming you have a custom recovery right? If so just follow the steps to installing a custom rom and it might fixed it. If this works get 4ext and flash the rom using its "smart flash" function (that what I think it is called) this way you no longer need to flash the boot.img every boot.
here is a link to a guide for flashing with htc dev unlock.
thank you soooo much flare4000. my phone is up and running again!
No problem, next time pay attention to what you are doing okay? And make sure you make a nandroid, when flashing a rom.
Please help
Alright so i am s-on but when i flashed the rom from ViperS 1.6.2 its now stuck on the htc logo i was trying to flash the bootimg from fast-boot but when i connected my phone to the computer the phone says fastboot usb but i tryed installing adb drivers or that thing to my computer because I got my phone from craigslist which is like ebay and it was already rooted and had a rom but my question is i installed the adb drivers and went to run it so i can manually install the bootimg in fastboot but it doesnt work for me because it says it cant find the path and now im stuck with a phone that can only go to boot-loader and 4ext and also i tried installing multiple roms using smart-flash on 4ext and it still doesnt work.I still cant figure it out please HELP. any help will be greatly appreciated.

format all partitions except sdcard from 4ext
enable smartflash
flash the rom
see if it works
about the boot.img:
place it in the folder where you have adb and fastboot files
open there a command window and do the command

Well I was confused because I thought SDK or adb was a program that you set for a individual device but I set the adbs already for my tf300t so I just used the same fast boot folder I used for my tf300t so I'm guessing all you have to do is look up how to install SDK or adb files for fast boot and install HTC drivers. That should solve your problem or if you did what I did about the tf300t thing then just plug in your device activate fast boot by going into your hboot. Then you open up your adb folder you placed in your c drive and hold shift right click open command there and then take the bootimg and paste it in your same adb folder directly and flash with command flash boot bootimg then it should boot up into your ROM and if you have anymore questions ask me. Also can someone correct me if I'm wrong on the bootimg command.
Do forget to hit the like button if I helped you

depending from your hboot version you have gb firmware
so any ics rom won't boot in your device
with your hboot version you have to follow revolutionary.io method to S-OFF
because only with S-OFF you can upgrade your firmware
see here
http://revolutionary.io/
and then for upgrading firmware see here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767 (here follow the instructions carefully and check md5 sums first before flashing)
after that you can flash any ics rom

In a really big trouble (Need help with returning to stock ROM)

So... I got excited about flashing my HTC sensation. I had done it before with ZTE blade and it wasn't that hard.
Long story short... I flashed the ROM, all went succesfully, but now I'm stuck in a bootloop. I can restart to clockwork recovery though. So I'm hoping it's still possible to get back to stock ROM. In that I need your help. I need to get information about which stock ROM to download, and how to flash it. I can't get to home screen to use USB sharing. Neither does Clockwork recovery usb sharing work.
Im stuck with putting the memory card to my other phone, putting the needed files on the memory card and then switching the memory card back to my HTC.
I've searched for hours and hours in google for help, but haven't found anything to match my situation. I have no idea what to do.
I've tried formatting system, wiping system and cache and then running CM10, bootloop. Formatted system, cache etc and flashed CM9, bootloop.
I have no idea what to do.
PLEASE HELP!
Did you flash firmware?

Are you sure your s off? Otherwise enable smartflash within 4ext.
So my HBOOT version is 1.27.0.0
And i did the Token ID thing, wasn't that putting it to S-off?
How to check if my firmware is updated? I think I did it but I'm not sure. Tell me the things you need to know.

If you were able to find your HBOOT version you should also be able to see whether you're s-off or s-on, copy down all the information that appears when you boot into bootloader and post it here.
You need 3.33 firmware from here. Read well before flashing.

Ok so in order to flash a ROM you either need to be s-off or get 4EXT recovery and enable smart-flash.
Again, you need the correct firmware so please make sure you get what you need from the link in my first reply.
As you are S-ON and HTCDEV Unlocked, you need to flash the 4EXT Recovery, enable smartflash in the settings and flash the rom. Then you will be fine! Follow this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631861

You are far from bricked. You need to get into recovery and mount usb storage. You can probably do it in clockworkmod but I've never used it so I don't know, if you're having trouble get 4ext recovery (since you do have a way of getting stuff onto your sd as you said in your first post), and you can toggle usb storage from there.

I understood from the 4ext recovery that you need to get usb connection working, without it, there's pretty much nothing to do. I can only get things to my sd card with my other phone, but since i'm s-on, i can't flash it from cwm. At least that's what I've understood. I'm starting to get annoyed. I really don't have money for another phone, and I know that I was really stupid to even try flashing.
If there is a way still, I'm gonna try it, but I can't establish usb connection. When I connect my phone to usb in CWM, it says drivers couldn't be installed.

You can still flash 4ext via fastboot. Go to this thread and some way down the OP look for the line "there's a direct download for a version you can flash via fastboot".
Are you familiar with adb? You need to download the recovery.img using the link above and flash it via adb. Read this.
If you are in fastboot and connect your cable, does it read "fastboot USB"? You can flash 4ext from fastboot!
Did you follow the steps from the guide I linked before? You are already unlocked, install the 4ext recovery, enable "smartflash" in settings and flash the Rom you have chosen.

Ok so when you first boot into bootloader you should have:
HBOOT
<VOL UP> to previous item etc. etc.
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK
IMAGE CRC
Then by selecting FASTBOOT you should be able to connect your usb cable and it will change to FASTBOOT USB. If not you need to be sure you have the correct drivers properly installed on your PC.

I'm getting real tired, have to go to sleep, but on a quick glance it seemed that with fastboot and adb, you need to have somekind of connection with the pc, right? You can't push commands to your phone without a connection? And I can't get to usb-debugging. I can only use CWM, and it doesn't help.
I'm starting to loose hope, but I'll try to check those threads tomorrow, maybe tomorrow I can save my phone, maybe not.
But thanks alot guys, a really REALLY friendly community. I know it ain't fun trying to help people with their problems, but I appreciate what you're trying to do

Yep, you need to be connected to your PC via USB, with drivers installed (I used this) and FASTBOOT selected in bootloader, at which point it SHOULD say FASTBOOT USB.
At this point you can use fastboot commands to flash the recovery.img I previously linked you to, then you will have 4ext recovery and you will be able to set up smart flash to allow you to flash whilst s-on. Only once you get to that stage can you start thinking about flashing firmware and custom ROMS.
And don't lose hope, plenty of phones have been resurrected from far worse conditions. Just requires some patience and careful reading. Don't do anything until you make sure you understand what it is you're about to do.

From fastboot, along your usb cable connected and htc drivers/adb are installed, you use the fastboot command: "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" that's how you can push the recovery on your device. (actually you should have just clicked on the link you quoted and would have found the answer.)

Nothing else
I've tried turning off when I do it restarts

Now I've gotten the phone to go into the bootloader screen
but i don't know what to do from there.
I'm not sure if i attempt reflashing the rom using fastboot?
What do you guys suggest?
Even if I can put on a different ROM would be great as well but that I'm not sure of doing either as I can't restart the phone (if i do go back into the HTC dev boot screen)
let me know please thanks

I don't mind putting on another rom but no luck I've tried clearing cache and I still get this same screen and I guess the only way to wipe data is from fastboot but then after doing this what would happen?

No, your phone is rooted. It has an unlocked bootloader. The problem with fastboot erase cache is it formats cache the wrong way. Just go into your custom recovery and format cache and you should be good.

Did you try both TWRP and CWM?
Sent from my evita
did you flash the kernel separate since you're still s-on?
Download a ROM onto your pc. Download TWRP 2.6 recovery from here. Put it in your fastboot folder. Use the following fastboot commands:
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.0.0-evita.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Go into recovery on phone, mount usb storage, copy a ROM from PC onto phone. Flash ROM from install menu. Reboot to bootloader. Extract boot.img from copy of ROM still on pc and put it in your fastboot folder, flash it using this command:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
Enjoy.
PS. Don't post your problems twice in different locations please.
PPS. Do some research so you actually know what you're doing before you attempt to do anything else to your phone. Don't get any information from anywhere except this forum on XDA, other sites do not distinguish very well between our phone and the Endeavoru.

Thank you appreciate the help
I relocked the bootloader should i unlock it again or relock it?
and doing it from fastboot how do I unlock it?
Why did you relock the bootloader? That's the opposite of what you want to do. Stop trying random things. You need to unlock it again now, and follow the instructions I posted above.

Android Revolution is not for this phone. Please do not try to flash anything for the Quad Core One X. Stay within THIS SUBSET OF THE FORUM or you will brick. This phone is One XL evita.

Like Rolltribe said, please stay within this forum (att one x) or you'll brick your phone.

[Q] Help me htc onexl restarting after try to flash rom.

Hi guys please help me.
I tried to flash my fone with this rom. :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2438840
I do everything i think. But now my phone didnt start and restarting several times. now i can see boot and enter fastboot,
its unlocked and hboot 2.14.
i try recover and reset and wipe and every thing. please help me get my phone back.
how could i flash from fastboot with usb?
What recovery and version?
S-off or S-on. If S-on, you need to extract boot.img from the ROM package, and flash using fastboot every time you flash a ROM.
And searching would have found this answer, there are hundreds of threads detailing this.

You should not be flashing anything, if you don't even know what recovery you've installed. Boot into recovery, does it say TEAMWIN when recovery starts up? If so, it will say what version number at the top of the menu screen.

I'm not sure what you are saying. Do you mean you flashed the ROM and can boot normally again?
Help me please

So you can't get into recovery at all? My suggestion is to run the 3.18 RUU and leave it stock until you understand what you're doing.

The vague description of what you did either means:
1) You are too lazy to tell us exactly what steps you did. Which makes it hard to help, since we need as much information as possible, or
2) You don't actually remember what you did, which is disturbing. It suggests a poor understanding of what you are doing, and/or trying things in hurry, without keeping track of what you did.
You need to tell us in detail, step by step what you have tried to this point.
You've likely messed up recovery by doing something you shouldn't have. I tend to agree with timmaaa to just return to stock until you have a better understanding of what you are doing.
Thank you

[Q] htc one s will do (almost) nothing

Hi There,
My one S will only start up in CWM. I would like to try and put another ROMon it, but i keep losing my sdcard.
I tried to mount it again, but on my mac i don't succeed with it. My knowledge of adb/fastboot is a bit low (i bought this phone with CM11, but wifi wasn't working properly, so i updated it. Then it wasn;t working at all.
So i kind off got rit of CM11 (not my purpose, but it happened).
Now i'm stuck with a none working phone.
Anyone in the area of Utrecht, the Netherlands who can help me out?
Is much apreciated (i work in a bar, so with beer i can repay )
hope to hear from anyone.
ciao
kalle
You could try another recovery like twrp.

To answer both. I would like to get twrp on it, but the only ways i can find to change the recovery is trhough goo manager or apps you can put on your phone (which isn't working)
I think the first part would be getting the sdcard to be more stable (format the damn thing)
Sorry, i think it's a ville. I will try and get the CID this weekend. including the rest of the info (don't have the device with me (@work) But to fastboot/adb the device i hope the sdcard will work properly...
Will edit this message this weekend.
To flash the recovery you dont need the sd card to work. You can do this by using fastboot commands.
At first you have to make sure that your Computer has the HTC-Driver installed and got a working adb/fastboot directory. If you dont know how to make this work, simply search this Forum there are plenty of good guides.
After you got this working, simply copy the latest twrp.zip to your adb folder. Boot your phone into fastboot mode. Open the command prompt from your adb folder and type in: "fastboot flash recovery recovery.zip".
After this is done you should be able to access twrp recovery.
if you don't tell me whats you cid and if you have a ville o villec2 i can't help you, because you can brick your phone
Finnaly i have time to answer some question and give a update (very busy weekend on this siode )
cid: VODAP102
hboot: 2.15.0000
S-on
i've managed to flash the recovery (twrp 2.8.6.5)
Pushed the latest CM12-1, through twrp i installed it, wipped the dalvik/cache, but then nothing happens...
It seems that i'm stuck in een boot sequence to end up in twrp again..
am going to try to get s-off and then push the rom again...keep you posted

if you're s-on you need to flash the boot.img via fastboot, but if s-off not, maybe this is your problem.
