I simply remove the internal memory and flash a custom phone image, it usable but without external memory.
If you cannot connect to the odin3, use Fastboot mode

[Q] Samsung Galaxy SL : Can't Recover ! Need Help

Hi All,
I was using Samsung Galaxy SL (I9003) with Android Gingerbread 2.3.6. I wanted to install CM10. Here what I did.
-> Rooted the phone using Odin (Windows)
-> Installed CM10 through SD Card
-> Installed gapps through SD Card
So far went well and I was able to install the ROM. But my key board was not working. So I wanted (I got scared on rooting) to recover my stock ROM (which I took backup through CWM)
Now my phone got soft bricked. It goes into boot loop (Samsung logo). Doesn't open up recovery. It goes into Download mode. But none of the computer recognizes it. Odin (Windows) doesn't, Heimdall doesn't, ADB doesn't. Fastbood Doesn't.
I am desperate for a solution to bring my phone alive.
It does turn on and it goes into download mode. But not able to find option to flash the Rom.
I am new to the forum and this area. So sorry for my ignorence
If you've flashed "[ALPHA][ROM][4.1.2] CyanogenMod 10 for Samsung Galaxy SL - Alpha 4 - Farewell Release" and re-flashed other roms other than Alpha 4 without repartition(going back to Odin-Pit-XXKPE/XXKPQ-DDLF2/or any-root) I think you've hard bricked your phone...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2048672

Thanks.. I also think so. if I give it to Samsung service center.. can they recover it (it's out of warranty) - if it is less costlier than a new phone ?
Thanks,
Achir
as far as i know, if you can go into download mode then your phone is not bricked.
just flash back to CM10A4 and follow the step to go back to stock.

Lola's i9003 was dead because it does not start... but my friend in this case achir SL is still recoverable...
@achir:dont panic and dont flash unnecessary things...You have soft bricked your SL.. too much of flashing and a small mistake can brick your phone.
and since you said your phone is not detected by ODIN but you can still go in download mode... so here are the steps which can help you..
1.Install samsung USB drivers for I9003
2.Install net framework on your PC
3.Disable your computers Antivirus and Firewall(it may interupt with ODIN process)
4.Restart your PC.
5.Connect your phone in download mode.
6.If its detected by system but not by ODIN then unplug and then replug the phone, repeat this process untill your phone is recognised by ODIN(rebooting of PC should also be done if necessary).
7.Once connected/recognised by ODIN flash a stock firmware.
8.Be patient because the first boot will take a long time.
let me know if it worked well?
You need not worry. I too had a bricked my phone exactly on Jan 1 (and missed wishing my friends as my phone was off).
See my forum where i faced the same issue. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2076250
As our members have mentioned you can reinstall the Samsung drivers in the PC which will make ODIN detect your phone. :good:
Okay. I re-installed the driver but still my PC doesn't recognize it (unknown device). My Mac and my friend's Linux can not recognize it.
I have my personal Mac (Windows is in office laptop which doesn't have full admin). But I tried with Heimdall and ADB in my Mac (I assume doesn't need driver) but they can not list my device.
Now my critical problem is making my Mac detect the device so that I can proceed with some recovery (if at all possible).
You case is very similar with lolation. From cm10a4 with mtd fs direct flash rfs fs. Lolation go to service center.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I tried a lot but it seems no computer can recognize the phone. It seems service center is the only option
Have you try using another usb cable?(maybe the usb cable you're using now is defect)..According to Dhiru, either Alpha 3 or 4 won't result in a hardbrick...read here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35505300#post35505300

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S - cant flash

Hi there,
I've read every kind of threads here and no one works for me. I rooted my Samsung GT-I9000 and all worked well, then the phone started acting crazy, my root was gone and when I boot the phone I come to the usual screen where you enter pincode but after that the popup screens start, multiple popups saying that twlauncher crashed, media, acore etc.. so I cant get to the screen where I can enable usb debugging. I can enter the stock recovery and my PC can contact the phone, but when I press vol down + home + power so I get the download mode the PC cant find the phone, not in win7 or in Linux. I have tried every kind of driver there is for Samsung but no one works that make it possible for the PC to find the phone when it is in download mode, win7 list it under "unknown device" and NO driver at ALL works so win7 can reqonize the phone. I've tried installing Kies how many times I dont know and uninstalling, updated SDK, uninstalled every USB driver and even the hubs and installed them again, updated win7.. what can I do to flash the phone!?!? Because Odin, no matter old from new; cant find the phone in DL mode, same with linux. And in stock recovery, I wiped cache and data but the problem is still there when I enter the OS after enter my pin...
How can I flash my phone without PC finding the phone in DL mode and no USB debugging enabled? Or how to flash CWM so I can flash a ROM from SD? Please help!!
At first try another PC with Winsows or use another USB cable.
About recavery-try to find temperery recovery or cwm, that flash from recovery.

As I wrote, my desktop is under Linux and the laptop under Win7 and none can reach the phone, both computers can only detect the phone in Recovery mode, but the laptop under Win7 only detect the phone as offline, Linux on the other hand can reboot phone into recovery from recovery, to download mode and reboot normal. Already tried to use Ubuntu 13 Live and it cant detect the phone in DL mode either. And tried different cables also. And if I find a recovery or CWM, then what? Dont I need to get phone into DL mode to flash something?
But in Linux I've got a small breakthrough, Heimdall can detect the phone know, but fails to flsah anything. Maybe wrong files or something..? But anyhow, if Heimdall now can detect the phone and it couldnt before; know I just need the right files to flash.
Just find a friend who owns Windows desktop/ laptop, download stock from Sammobile, flash stock via Odin. If not, try Odin mobile...

[Q] PC Does Not Recognize Device and Another Dumb Thing I Did

I did a really, really dumb thing a few months ago. I flashed a wrong something or another to fix an issue I had with my keyboard crashing after flashing another wrong thing..
Anywho, I couldn't get the damn keyboard to stop crashing for the life of me, so I set out to FORMAT/ CLEAR EVERYTHING ON MY PHONE. Yikes.
At this point, I can boot into recovery(CWM) and DL mode, but my PC will not recognize my phone at all. I installed your S3 toolkit v7.0, hoping it would help, but nay.
I cannot boot fully into Android to allow usb debugging, etc.
I can mount and unmount internal sd, cache, etc, but no drivers are being installed because it is not being recognized.
I've uninstalled Kies, etc.

I'm waiting on my PC to free up again(currently on a Mac). I had not tried Odin because in the past I was unable to mount internal SD, which I understood was keeping it from being recognized. I instead thought the Toolkit would do the trick automatically, though I most likely had the wrong idea. Everything is mountable again (for some odd reason), so I will give it a go.
Could I accomplish downloading drivers and flashing rom to device using Odin alone? Or should I use the Toolkit?
Thanks!

Installing the drivers is independent from using odin. Install the drivers on the PC, fire up odin, connect phone (that has been booted into DL mode) and see if it connects. If it does, just flash a stock image and you are back in business.
You can use this driver http://d-h.st/vMk

Odin is not recognizing the device. Should I unmount or mount anything on the device for this to work properly? I have drivers installed.
