Hi!
I flashed pac-rom but it keeps my phone awake 24hrs even when i am sleeping therefore 70% battery consumption when i am sleeping and everyday i have been posting in that thread for help or update but dev has left, and this was a stable version with never ending problems for me.So i want to remove this and see if the other rom also behaves like this or not.
I want to remove this rom and gapps as well but i am a newbie and never did this before.I will be really grateful if someone guide me step by step in this.
Please reply soon coz i am not able to live a normal life as battery is creating problems for me.Thanks a lot in advance

As i said i am newbie things are not clear to me and what i asked in the question is not mentioned clearly and exactly. And since 7 days i am stuck in this esp last three days coz either the rom is a problem or need to be reflashed. And how to remove gapps etc that is not clear dear.Anyone who has a helping nature would write few lines or steps if he wants to help.My head is screwed up with this rom, nothing is working properly and all the time i am busy with my phone. Can't even open my eyes now as i have been continously looking at small screen.
Do not know if i have to reset the phone again or what, how to remove gapps as i do not have google store, gmail and maps in that. I always try to help a newbie coz i know he will not understand things clearly and can screw up,and in my case an experience person can tell if it is some thing else i should do along with that i.e if he would be concerned.
You are the king man so you would not know these small petty things.
Anyway thanks for whatever best you could do.
@kitu34: The procedure for flashing a new ROM is always the same:
1. Download the ROM, put it on your SD card (I recommend creating a folder in your SD card for your ROMs, kernels, etc., so that they're all in one place, but that's just a suggestion, not a requirement. Optional: Download the recommended GAPPS package for the ROM (if the ROM comes with built-in GAPPS, no need to download this).
2. Boot into recovery. You should be able to reboot into recovery simply by pressing power button > reboot > recovery. If not, then shutdown the phone and press & hold power+volume down+home.
3. In recovery, perform a factory reset (wipe data & cache), wipe dalvik-cache, and wipe system.
4. In recovery, flash the zip of the ROM you want to install (the procedure for this depends on your custom recovery; just browse around the menus for the option to flash a zip). If the ROM has a separate GAPPS package, you can also flash it here. Note: Always flash the GAPPS after you flash the ROM, not before.
5. Reboot system.
Flashing a custom kernel uses the same procedure, except you only wipe cache & dalvik-cache in step 3.

Just confused whether to reflash pac rom or flash either rashed's 10.1 or Jenkin's.Maybe first flashing went wrong coz i am having lots of problems and the phone is awake 24hrs.I want a good rom but battery friendly

Update the ROM? Do you mean flashing a newer version of the same ROM? Some ROMs can be updated by simply wiping cache, dalvik, & system (no need to wipe data), then flashing the new version. Personally, I advise doing a clean install every time when installing a new ROM, even if it's just an update. That means a full wipe: data, cache, dalvik-cache, & system. A clean install helps you avoid potential errors.

If you want good battery life, then I suggest staying away from Jelly Bean ROMs for now -- the battery drain is huge. If you want to try a stable JB ROM, then the latest Jenkins build is good, as long as you don't mind battery drain and a couple of relatively major bugs (those being bluetooth A2DP not working and wifi hotspot reboot).
If you want a relatively more stable, but still high-end, ROM, then stick with ICS. Hephappy's CM9 is good (check the thread in the General LG-P500 forum), or if you want a tweaked & modded ICS, then get neko95's ICySNAP.
That said, the king of battery life still is Gingerbread. I'm personally using the latest unofficial CM7.2 build by FitAmp; it's stable and with good battery life, better than ICS or JB.

ok then for now i will try jenkin's coz that was the first rom i downloaded on my pc but did not flash.actually i have serious battery and other issues that is why i am just getting rid of this now and then read about the roms you mentioned.after fashing i will tell you how it goes and if that also has a battery issue then the next...so kind of you to help as there are very few people here who really want to help.(the other day grgtm from cebu really helped me when my phone went in fastboot, cebu guys are damn good hehe)thanks a lot

I am doing with jenkins as i already have but it does not have gapps as i am not flashing the very last update which has gapps with it.\So is it ok to use rashed's cm10's mini gapps?

Yes, Rashed's mini gapps is for all cm10.x roms, including the Jenkins builds.
Edit: By the way, grgtm is from Romania, not Cebu (Philippines). You probably got him mixed up with someone else.

The home button not working is a result of a GAPPS error when the system partition is too full. You'll need to trim the ROM prior to flashing (search the cm10 thread; it's too complicated for me to explain here) or download the version of cm10.1 with built-in GAPPS. The fact of the matter is, our phones has a very small system partition, hence why we have to go to all this trouble when using JB.

Thanks, but first i am trying to reflash coz in the first time i wiped even cache partition and now i will try without that coz i did not yet get an answer to how to trim
You're seriously going to need to learn how to help yourself, @kitu34. Instead of asking for step-by-step instructions all the time, try looking for them yourself; simply using the "search this thread" function and running a search for "trim" in Rashed's thread would give you what you need. In fact, here's the link to the program used to trim ROMs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33349661 -- that link was in the first post of Rashed's thread, labeled (and in very big letters) CLICK ME. The instructions for using the program is also in the thread, and the program's interface is so simple that simply browsing around should tell you what to do.

I tried Jenkins with rashed's mini gapps and worked perfectly(except battery drain), instead using an tool for rom editing, use an app like root uninstaller to get read of unnecessary apps to free some space on internal memory or use an d2ext script(but it got some strange behavior from my phone, you need a really fast sd card, an class 10 for that, and a reliable brand, mine is class 4, so in the final, sd card will worth half price of the phone)

Thanks,i have both titanium and es explorer, can i do with that by simply uninstalling system app? Actually someone told me not to this way and instead trim the rom.Even i am confused what is the difference.Either it creates problems or the amount of space we get by uninstalling with titanium is less compared to trimming the rom.
I will later what i did later.
As the title says: P5110 keeps rebooting during boot - right after animation stops (before word SAMUNGS starts glowing).
Tablet is rooted and there is CWM 5.5.0.4 installed. Was just fine for almost half a year and all of a sudden this...
I have tried
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache partition
- advanced : wipe Dalvik Cache (whatever that might be?)
I also tried all the "mounts and storage" options and noticed on thing: i can mount all storage mounts (/system, /cache, /data, /efs, /preload, /sdcard) but one - namely /emmc. Does it mean that emmc is broken? What is emmc? Is it important?
I am considering unrooting it and removing CWM. But not sure whether it's even possible and don't dare to try!
Can you tell me anything that might help me debrick this tablet?
Do you have nandroid backup(one that you make with cwm)? If yes go to backup and restore in cwm and hit restore....if not try to reflash rom via cwm or flash stock rom via odin in dowload mode.
emmc is.... http://www.simmtester.com/page/news/showpubnews.asp?num=181

Sorry to jump on this thread but might be a similar steps the OP has to take.
What if he flashes a new Rom and it still is locked in a strange boot up?
I posted a thread earlier today but either no one has an answer or my thread title was just crappy.
Mine did exactly what his is doing now (just boots the samsung logo and hangs) and now it just boots into recovery everytime you start it.
Flashing an original stock rom didnt fix it.
Flash via Odin any stock ROM then root it and flash whatever you like.
This kind of brick may occur easily if you have flashed uncompatible kernel or tried to restore nandroid backup of another ROM or made by uncompatible CWM recovery version.

Normally, it should actually work absolutely fine if you flash a stock ROM via Odin.
Nobody knows what did cause your problems and what did you flash as last. Also, different OS versions use sometimes different partitions. Even CWM recovery is not compatible through all versions, it uses different formatting.
So this way should work to restore stock ROM on your device:
find and download Odin that fits your device (earlier versions are not neccessarily worse ones)
find and download PIT file for your device
find stock ROM for your device consisting 3-files (for PDA, Phone, CSC).... ROMs are usually zipped, so you will get 3 data after extracting
The PIT file will do re-partitions for the case that your formerly installed ROM used different partitions whch are not compatible with the stock ROM.
After that you will have again unrooted stock ROM. So just be careful afterwards whatever you flash and before you do it, make sure that whatever you flash always fits your device (no matter is it whole ROM, kernel or just upgrade).

Thank you for the reply. I had posted a link in here that linked to my thread that explained what i had done and used but it didnt show up for some reason? Anyway I used the below roms(in bold). An update was available for JB and we own two tablets both the P5113 and bought at the same time. One tablet updated fine but the other one would download the package but then would keep failing to install it. So i did a factory reset on the device and then that's when the fun began and it started booting strange.
So I first tried flashing the official JB rom using ODin 3.04.
P5113UECLK7 (4.1.1) - Cellular south November 2012 (Official)
and it still did the same thing so then i tried flashing it back to ICS which is the rom that was on there i think. (It was ICS but not sure if that was the exact version number?)
P5113UEBLI1 (4.0.4) - Singapore September 2012 (Official)
Im sure the roms are going on there fine as if im not mistaken ICS has a blue battery charge icon and JB a gold one. I noticed that it went from blue to gold when i first loaded the 4.1.1 on there and then back to blue when i put ICS back on there.
I cant seem to find a PIT file for the P5113. Only for the P5100. Would that work?
I tried it anyway and it didnt work

If I was you, I wouldn't flash it before I am 100% sure it fits the p5113. I own the p5110 and they are indeed very similar, but who knows.... Take care of your Tab, mate.
BTW: why not CM10.1 stable? It works awesome, full wipe/factory reset, install zip through recovery, install recent gapps for CM10.1 (4.2.2) and after boot install Apex launcher and enjoy life

I hear you Its a paper weight right now though so thought id rather try as nothing else is doing the trick.
The tablets are my kids so i preferred to just give them an official stock version. I got put off using custom roms when i used paranoid android on my samsung galaxy 2 and it was real buggy. I just need my devices to work for the basics. I now run stock jelly bean on my GS2 but even that has crappy battery life, lucky for it to make it till 4pm and still be on and thats with moderate use. Couple of phone calls and a few text messages and a tiny bit or browsing. I know what is causing it though as it only starts to lose battery when im not on wi fi. It at least doesnt freeze and stop receiving phone calls altogether like PA did though. I used to miss a ton of work calls because the phone had actually frozen.
I love Apex though. I have Apex pro on my GS2 and its much better then the standard launcher. My daughter has the GS3 and it still does not rotate on the home and app screens which i find annoying.

I've got your point, mate. :good:
Same with me: I need all the functions to work. The CM10.1 does it really, but my p5110 is wifi-only device so I'm not sure if CM10.1 is same good for your p5113. CM10.2 seems to be smooth and fast, but many apps aren't yet updated for 4.3 so I will wait a while before I flash it again.
I have cm10.1 on my p5113...it runs amazing...the p5113 owners most of the time have to flash the p5110 version because there is nothing different with the tabs besides the ir port..

OK, yes- you need same Odin version as Tabs 51xx, this is link for Odin 3.07:

Try pressing the buttons with the charger plugged in, as well as plugged out, that is little trick with the p51xx Tabs

Great, I am glad to hear it did charger cable trick help?
Just to make sure: you must be sure to flash a stock ROM first (not JB based custom ROM), after it you will have revived Tab without root. After that normal proceeding: root it, install CWM recovery or custom kernel that fits your ROM (or even whole custom ROM) which already features the CWM recovery.
The stock recovery (3e) checks the signature so of course you can't flash any custom zips. CWM recovery has an option "toggle signature verification" where one can disable signature check. Then you can flash whatever you want, just take care that all you ever flash must be absolutely compatible for your device.

One more thing mate, look at this video which I've posted on YouTube last January:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NXBN9Z63TY
It describes how to get rid of the signature verification problem. For the reason that quite many people don't understand english well, I have made a speechless video added by step by step description in the text (video description) so people can just copy the text and paste it into their translators.
If one ROM that you have flashed bootloops on the logo just try another ROM. It happens sometimes. Important is that you should always before flashing another ROM make full wipe: (data/factory reset/cache/dalvik) in your recovery mode.
Did you do it?
Please let me know if you were successful, it should work now! Good luck :fingers-crossed:
It works!
Thanks everyone for your feedback!!!
and my apologies for late response.
I followed the advise to (re)flash stock rom and it worked!
After that i rooted it again, installed another recovery and now have the latest stock rom working perfectly.
For those who get the same problem and the tabled keeps rebooting - just plug it into recharger and keep the on/off button until it turns off. Then you can fully charge it before you attempt to flash rom.
Once again, thanks a lot!
PS. now i am considering installing CM10.1

Great! Congratulations
Yes, install CM10.1.1 with gapps for 4.2.2 it works great, all the functions. Just mind that you can not restore nandroid backups made with other kernel, (sometimes also not if done with older CWM recovery version) and also apps backups made by Titanium backups in older systems aren't good idea to restore once you upgrade to CM10x
If you want to return for any reason to your old (current) ROM, do the same procedure like by unbricking
Hi guys, I'm fckland and I'm relatively new here since I never write but I always come here when I need something
This time I come here with a doubt. I got the motorola xt1032 and it's awesome, I have unlocked the bootloader and rooted it and installed CWM to flash some ROM's, but they didn't worked and bricked my phone, so I had to install google play edition by fastboot (following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219 ) and now when I hit "install zip from sdcard" it says: e:\ can't mount sdcard
I want to access that option to install the faux kernel to test it but i can't. What can I do to fix it? I have searched and I didn't find nothin specific for the motorola moto G.
While I was writing this, I installed the TWRP and it worked! I had access to the internal memory without any issue!
BUT I HAD AN ISSUE
I installed the faux kernel with the OC to 1.6GHz and it bricked the OS (google play edition) (stuck at bootanimation), I installed the other version, the non OC and it bricked too and I had to do the tutorial once again since i didn't do a backup
And my second question is... Why this moto g doesn't accept most ROM's and kernels? I have tried with ROM: Carbon, AOSP, MOKEE and none worked and Kernels: faux version u and m and none worked, all of them bricked my phone.
If you need details of the version of my phone or something please ask for it and I'll upload it.
Thank you very much.
Nobody? I need to know at least why I can't install ROM's without having lots of issues.
Post details.
Please post details of which recovery you are using to flash ROMs, which kernel you are on and lastly which ROM works fine and which doesn't.
I, personally think you might had been on philz recovery and issue is not only which /sdcard but with /data.
Post the required info and I'll get back to you.
Problem solved!
I don't know what the problem was, but I think that I wasn't formating well after installing ROM's.
I have installed CM11 minutes ago and it works really nice (with wifi, I didn't try 3G yet) but I have a stock kernell and I would love to install faux or pink kernell, how do I have to do exactly to install one of them? And what can I do if i get bootloop?
Thank you!
Stick with the original kernel.

It's nice that your problem is resolved. And for the kernel as far as I know faux and pink support only stock ROM, no support for CM11 yet. You can search the thread for any other kernel but I would recommend to stick to default kernel now. Moto G is still under huge development, have patience. Soon we'll have a lot of them.
Regarding bootloops, take care that before installing any Rom you format /system along with wipe cache and data. Mount them again and then flash the rom.If any other help needed then post it.
P.S. No need to say Thanks press Thank you instead.

Why you can't?
Can someone please help me out with an issue I am having...?
I can't seem to get Service after installing an AOSP ROM. I have been messing around with this issue for several days now. When I install a 'NON AOSP' ROM such as 'the 'MOAR ROM' it works fine, but then I go to in recovery (Newest TWRP or Newest Philz Touch) and do all of the required 'Wipes' then Install an AOSP ROM like 'Fusion', 'PAC' or the most recent 'CM11 Nightly' and I do not get any Cellular Service (WiFi is fine) and I have been looking for answers for several days and I can't seem to find any.
Can someone please help me out and let me know what I need to do, or point me to the right direction?
Thanks in advance for any help and/or resources that anyone can provide me with. It will be greatly appreciated.

Same was happening to me on philz recovery . so I install trwp for sprint/Verizon . then I installed trwp manager from play store . I install the PAC ROM from in the app and let it wipe it self . and that did the trick at least for me. I have tried many ways like your self. Nothing work that's the only way I got it working. Hope that help.

I'll give it a shot and see what happens. Thanks for the tip...
Has anyone else had this problem? If so, can you post anything you did to get it working...
My Phone Thanks You...
Im having the same problem on both TW and AOSP. If I mess around with the connection settings I can get a signal but when I reboot its lost.
Ive tried both recoveries and its the same on both. Ive tried flashing modems but that did nothing
EDIT: Seems that any kernel that I flash breaks my phones signal, I need to test further to see what part of the kernel flash is causing this.
Whenever I download klte roms I had that problem. I could receive data and text, but I couldn't send any. I used Google voice until I flash kltespr roms. once I flashed the specific roms for our device it worked. Though I had to install ktoonez's version of twrp to get them to flash. That file can be found on the AICP thread.

I think you guys need to flash an APN package with klte roms. Kltespr roms should not have this problem, but if you run into it flashing the APN package shouldn;t hurt there either. Not sure if there is still an APN zip floating around, you may have to manually fix your APN.
It turns out that the custom kernel I was using broke the signal for some reason. Other than that, I had no problems as long as I flashed a kltespr rom. Klte roms worked for data if i used a virgin mobile apn, but there was no texting or calling.
I attached the flashable zip I used to get the virgin mobile apn. I would recommend flashing it right after you flash your rom.
having this same issue also..
i have tried several things.. going back to complete stock and working forward
no matter what i do i get no service on any AOSP rom.. im going to try this apn fix. hopefully it doesnt further break anything lol
Anyone figure this out yet? I've tried about 4 aosp roms and no luck.
PacMan rom with PA Gapps and Ktoonsez kernel worked for me. None of the others did so it must be a ROM issue.
Part of the reason kltespr was de-unified was because of issues like this.
When I'd fix something it would break something else for T-mobile or international.
So I would recommend sticking to kltespr builds for the time being.
Hopefully some work I'll be putting in soon will help get this back in gear.

I couldn't get data on any kltespr builds except Pac Man and even then I lost data the next day for some reason. The new lollipop build has data working for me even though it's "GSM only" so just hoping it stays that way haha Waiting on fixes for battery drainage and I'll run it daily
Hello everyone, this is my first post, after having read a lot in this forum already.
tl;dr: I flashed several ROMs onto the phone and always had the same problem: Connection to network goes away completely when mobile data is turned on. My baseband is S7652XXMA1 for which I cannot find a stock rom. Don't know what to do now.
Comprehensive description:
So I got a Samsung Galaxy S Duos (GT-S7652) and thought I flash some fancy ROM on it to gather some experience before I go and try with my main phone. So I installed TWRP, which went fine, then I flashed PMP Light ROM, because I read that would improve the performance and I liked the ROM.
The problem is, that as soon as I turn on the mobile data, the phone loses network. I double checked APN settings and tried the same SIM card with my other phone and those settings and everything works fine.
I tried to flash back Stock ROMs, but the problem stays the same.
Now I see two potential sources:
1. Baseband of my phone is S7652XXMA1 and I cannot find the right stock rom for this (although I tried some other Stock ROMs, because I thought they would change the baseband, which they did not)
2. When flashing process reaches the fat.bin (which I read contains the baseband) it gives me an error:
Code:
99%
100%
ERROR: Failed to confirm end of file transfer sequence!
ERROR: FAT upload failed!
Does anyone know how to proceed? Does anyone know where to get a Stock ROM for this Baseband S7562XXMA1? All help is much appreciated
Ok, telephony also doesn't work, if one tries it loses network just as in the mobile data case.
Has no one any ideas, how I could overwrite the Baseband?
Try cm11 with Hungarian baseband.
Is network working on phone properly?
You can also try to flash indian baseband, but keep a backup of old baseband
Wifi works without problems, for mobile network see my posts above.
I have not kept a backup, as I thought just reinstalling stock rom would bring me back to original.
Why do you recommend to flash Hungarian Baseband cm11, so far no baseband rom could overwrite my fat.bin, what does this do differently?

So far I was mostly trying various Stock ROMs and PMP Light Rom. Ok, I will try the Hungarian Baseband cm, if that promises better results. I will report back if that worked.

CM11 gives good performance than stock rom for sure.
Hey, I managed to override the baseband with the Hungarian one through the zip from here: [CM11][GT-S7562] Samsung Galaxy S Duos Kitkat 4.4.4
The problems are still the same. I tried to install the cm11 from the same thread (through TWRP), but I get an error (Updater process ended with ERROR: 7) telling me that I am trying to install on top of incompatible data. I tried doing a factory reset, but to no avail.
Right now I am on |DisContinued| COSMIC ROM | Version 2.5 |KitKat-Mod|Galaxy S Dous|Smooth|Fast|Stylish, which also is based on cm11.
I will try to flash some other ROM from PC, but I don't have much hope that will solve anything. Does anyone know where I could obtain a Stock ROM, that is compatible with Hungarian Baseband? There is a link in the Kitkat Thread above (http://d-h.st/do72), but it only gives me some exe-file instead of the tar.gz that I look for...

I don't think cosmic is based on cm11 its just kitkat themed stock.

I tried already both, the ROM in the first post and the latest experimental one from one of the last pages. They all gave me Error: 7

Its hosted at http://d-h.st... The only thing I can manage to get from there is a 7z1602.exe, which seems like a bad idea to execute. Can you download from there? If yes, maybe you could then upload it to a different file hoster, I would be very grateful.
Yes i tried to download stock Hungarian firmware from cm11 thread, it isn't working.
i reported it their.
Have you tried to download from here, download your country firmware - https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-S7562/
You will have to flash with odin , their are many good guides available for that on Google

I know that site, but they don't have the version for Hungarian Baseband. I tried some other stock roms from there though, but no success.

They provide flash file which can be used with odin through computer. It will install stock samsung firmware of your country, so it will make the whole phone new, don't forget to backup your data.

I started this Thread because that messed up my mobile network connection, so it is not "new". I need some firmware, that will work with my (now) Hungarian Baseband.

You say that you cant flash basebands through recovery, so now the best option is odin only, now i am out of ideas about for your problem
I was able to flash the hungarian baseband only, no other worked. Now I do need some ROM that works with that Baseband. I posted a request for a new link in the Thread, maybe I then can proceed and make some progress.
Just if anyone is still following this, I have managed to restore the network connection by using the Hungarian Stock ROM, which I finally managed to locate. If anyone needs it too, here is a link:
