SGP311 unblocked, rooted, stock and custom roms - Android General

As a new member I am unable to post into existing developer threads but have used the xda site and found it to be very helpful and want to give feedback so am creating this thread to build up my user experience and help people where I have got stuck on certain things...
Currently using HTC Wildfire S S-on unblocked and SGP311 unblocked (xperia z tablet 16GB codename pullux_windy)
This thread however I would like to devote to the sgp311 and give new users the chance to ask questions that I might be able to help with since new users can read and maybe not fully understand development threads and want to ask questions but can't... New users should be able to post questions in this thread as it is in the android general section...
So let's begin...
Had a few hickups trying to learn the art of unlocking android devices, flashing and installing of custom ROMs... Including the use of the wonderful flashtool for xperia devices program called Emma from the Sony website... With what I have learned now though, Emma is a can't cope or work out my issues get back to stock and start over again app for really green users who need to wipe the slate clean if you are stuck in a bootloop or worse, can't even get your screen to load up with anything...
Currently now running FXP241 custom ROM with its own custom kernel (boot.IMG) which I found in the developer threads for sgp311 devices... Working smooth and snappy as promised...
That being said... I am ready for any questions regarding the sgp311 device...

SGP311 (pollux_windy) updated to FXP242
Successfully updated to fxp242... No problems so far... Changelog states wireless issues have been fixed which I can confirm...

[Q][Xperia Arc][LT15i] Clear threads on rooting and flashing custom ROMs?

Hi, I have a sister who uses Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc LT15i, Android 2.3.3, build version 2.6.32.9-perf, but I haven't tweaked with Sony Ericsson phones before so I don't know anything about her Arc's kernel and stuff.
She has problems with her device lately (lagging, response is slow etc.) and wants to root and flash it with a stable ROM, preferably as new and as fast. I tried helping her by finding threads on this forum, but there are too many stuff need looking through, and my eyes hurt just by looking at them builds and codes (too many broken links and complicated instructions).
Anyone can redirect me to a thread where it has clear and simple instructions as well as availability of downloads to links and software needed for the root/flash?
Wrong forum section. This is for the HTC One X.
Wrong forum bro, this is for the at&t htc one x! Beat me too it red!!!

[Q] Best ROM for Miro (rooted and bootloader unlocked) - is it even possible?

Not so long ago I was total noob for Android, few posts later and nothing has changed :victory: JK off course, the truth is that I learned some basic stuff (rooting, unlocking bootloader, difference between SU and regular user, customization and CWM etc.) and all that thanks to you guys - god bless YouTube, inetrnet and XDA developers! :highfive:
Now the probing questions:
1. Is it possible to flash custom ROM's to Miro with bootloader locked (currently stock)?
2. Which one would suit me best (gaming and/or performance is a MUST!)?
3. What to install mod other then CWM (cuzz it's not supported by phone)?
Thx guys, I'll make sure to thank each and every one of y'all!
1. Yes u can always use stock based roms without unlocking.
2. My personal opinion is that The ultrabeast rom has great gaming performance. Im using it currently.
3. Didn't get your question.

In order to flash the ROM onto device I need some Mod and ClokWork Mod is not supported by Miro (for fastboot etc.) so which one should I choose?
Is there any way u could send me a download link and instructions for that ROM?
So many question marks....
Who told you that cwm does not work for miro? It works very well.
There is a separate thread for that.did you try to search? Just go to the android development section. There you will find both cwm and twrp. Install whatever you want. I prefer cwm.
And you will also find the rom alongwith instructions there only.

Do not post questions which indicates "Which is the BEST ROM" or such issues. It's strictly against the XDA Rules.
The point of the forum is try out different ROMs available in the development section. So browse around and try and see it yourself.

[Q] Best Close to Stock KitKat ROM for Tab2

Hey Guys,
I'm quite a Noobie when it comes to ROMS and I haven't ventured into Custom ROMS in any way before. But, because in the infinite wisdom of Samsung (my one B!TCH) is they don't maintain support for older devices like Apple do, I need to consider updating my Tab 2 to get some decent performance.
There appears to be about 4 - 5 ROMS that are being regularly maintained and I'd like to know which one is as close to stock Samsung ROM and easy to install with no requirement to Root the device. I have installed ROMS via Odin quite a few times, so I am confident in that area.
Ones I know about:
SlimKat
CyanogenMod 11
Mokee
SOKP
Cheers and thanks
Willo
Please some help!
People aren't answering because what you're asking for isn't possible. None of them are like the Samsung ROM and they ALL require a custom recovery and root. You can't install them over Odin. If you do root then try them yourself and see which one works best for you. That's part of the fun of Android!
Not to mention you posted a question in the General forum not the Q&A forum...

Hi!
I believe this is the ROM you're using?
>*Sony Xperia SP*>*Xperia SP Android Development*>*[ROM][KK 4.4.2][C530X] XperianZe ROM KK v2 - BE MOVED - 18.5.14
You need a post count of 10 on XDA to post in development threads....so I suggest you browse around your device section and contribute some "useful" and meaningful posts to get your count to 10. Check out the General, Questions and Answers, Themes and Apps and Accessories sections and find things that interest you and join the discussions.
When you have 10 posts, you can ask questions in the ROM thread.
Here's your device section....
Sony Xperia SP
Good luck! ?
Oh, if you are using a translator, it is not working too well. May want to look at its settings, or train it better, or find a better one.......your post was very difficult to understand.

[Q] any upgrade for m2 aqua?

Hi all!
I have to ask this, I have searched for days and days over, buThe all in vain
I want to upgrade to lollipop, but it seems as if I can not do that. So to either douse the my passionate flames, or to spice them up a little, I would like to ask you all;
Is there, or will there be any upgrades for Xperia M2 Aqua? They can be something like AOSP.
Also, I would like to ask one more thing;
Would it be possible for someone, if they have a working build on his/her phone, to possibly upload it or share it? It would make my day!
Thank you for reading this and consider this as real questions and request
Sincerely
Anders
I asking this because I have tried the "Eagle" build on my D2403, but it ain't working, it won't start, only vibrates and then turns off right away.
So I decided to read about codenames, and it seems like m2 Aqua (D2403) got the codename "Seahawk". I would like anyone of you to confirm if this is true or not?
And now I will go back to follow this thread as I really do want to try Lollipop

Kind of "fun" how this thread have over 100 views, yet no answer what so ever.
Some research, and in my build.prop it mention both eagle and Seahawk for this phone.
So which one is it, or is it a bit of both?
And there will be no official upgrade to m2 aqua (D2403).
But I have yet no answer to as to why the Eagle build for Lollipop is not working on my phone.
And this have raised another question;
Can a kernel to 4.4.4 work with 5.0 or does it have to be tailored for 5.0?
Edit:
I should mention that I have had a bad day and lost my temper a bit, and if anyone take the first part in a bad way, I am sorry!
I should also mention that I have tried AOSP android Eagle build, and Unofficial CM12.1 build from the same site. Fxpblog or something like that.

Even if this thread has 100 views, what does it mean? It could mean a lot of this but the most accurate ones would be that either :
This forum is for eagle and these 100 views are the users of the eagle and not seahawk so they are allowed to not know the answer for your questions. Second thing, even if theres some views of people that have seahawk, they may not know the answers for your questions (maybe they are not rooted, or they never tried a custom ROM, that's just two causes). Also questions like this repeats over and over again so either the users or the devs don't want to repeat themselves. Even if a Dev would reply here, he'd probably tell you to search the forum first.
And now, I can't answer your questions myself because I own the eagle not seahawk, but from experience I can tell that it's not a good idea to flash a ROM for specific phone onto another phone (even if m2 and m2 aqua are theoretically the same) because it may end up with a bootloop etc. Now if it is possible to cross flash the ROM, than I would say that you missed some point of the procedure you should have taken to flash lp on the aqua, the most frequent cause of the bootloops are improperly flashed ROMs. Now, by this I mean you could have forgotten to wipe the phone, or wipe cache memory. Don't hate me for what I said, because I'm really not sure how to answer your questions. Peace
