Good video. One thing to mention, when you said you cannot unroot the device without leaving a flag, you can use Root de la Vega on SD800's and it will not trigger the flag. Just flash stock ROM to wipe root. It's been out for about a week now.

Great video from c4etech as is the case always.
However, I need to mention that at the beginning you had pressed the restart button of the exynos variant a split/second before the slapdragon 800 one's. Well, I am not sure about how would that affected the delay in rebooting of slapdragon one. Just to mention it.

Could you compare and comment on the headphone audio quality on both the variants?
Also, does any variant suffer from any overheating issues?

He is doing a benchmark after another, and cause of the heat the phone has lower result in the video.

Great video mate! I was not able to listen to the audio (was attending a class)One thing I noticed from the video that both the variants show similar performane while doing cpu intensive jobs! The difference comes when the gpu is needed and even there tge difference is minor. So overall the exynos version is not that bad.

it depends on the upgrade of the os.. s800 has an overheat issue witch decrease maxfreq as fast as you say "hello", it's a thermal ID function witch, when you reach 65°C, system goes from 2.3 to about 1.5 for all 4 cores.. that's why he has less benchmark results
air temperature of the room dissipate the phone overheat.. heater is, more underclocking of the cpu maxfreq
btw, last upgrade of the rom disable the thermal ID for some benchmark apps, and force the governor as a performance, so, all 4 cores turned on + maxfreq for all cores.. so.. that's why you have those results
but.. the real result is what ash had, you only have a fixed one witch values are impossible to uses in normal situation since system underclock the cpu
don't you beleve? run stability test, open system tuner, go to cpu tab, see the maxfreq goes from 2.3 to about 1.5.. and cpu temperature at about 65°C or symilar
try :good:

can you please post "sunspider and browser benchmark" test of them ?

Just my opinion, no offence.
I not sure what you did to the device. Your N9005 is kind of slow, all slow.
My benchmark score is higher anytime than yours.
I can get at least 33k for Antutu after unstop using it, means the phone is kind of hot. 36k for Antutu after cooling down.
As for 3D Mark, I always get Maxed out! for Ice Store & Ice Storm Extreme.
Also I notice you had more background running apps in S800 than Exynos one, at least it show they is one more search apps inside.
Beside this, can't you press together for all the running? It is not that difficult to do so.
I find your benchmark is useless as you not even can do proper in basic things.

Great video, very helpful

yes they have maintained it in s series,
s> hummingburd
s2> exynos dual
s3> exynos quad
all 3 chipsets r samsungs home made, but here they just moved to snapdraon from nvidia
SO does it mean that Tegra2 is faulty and tegra 3 is better.
Leaving Tegra family out, means theres a sign that Samsung may not have negotiated with Nvidea
And also does it risk to R1..of not getting ICS ???
and does it have anything in connection with all the answer sammy gave on all networking sites ??
But this New R..is superb. i just want to grab it...hhhmmm damm..!!
If the screen size would have been 4.2" we could have got a lot more accessories.

Yeah don't see this much of an upgrade from the current tab2 outside of a new outer shell lol.. I agree coul dhave at least bumped up the rez on the display to at least nexus 7 levels.. oh well guess to keep the cost down.

If it come with Multiwindow (probally it come), maybe it will be more easy to port to GTab2, as S Voice etc...

In design, this tablet is a throwback,
-first generation: soft buttons,
-second generation: no buttons,
-Third generation: physical buttons?! WTF?
Furthermore, somebody should tell Samsung to not use the S3-like design on all devices... in 2013 May, it was good, new, revolutionary... but now??
Wth are u thinking samsung? Epic fail...

I think you hit the point home! They probably want the Note8 to take the lead on the high end and the Tab 3 for cheaper lower end tablets. Their decision on the specks surprise me...but again...they will probably release half a dozen other models with varying specks before the charge on my tab runs out
Not a major upgrade model wise.

Pretty sure tab 2 will also get 5.0 through cyanogen guys... Already on 4.2.2 with everything working greater than stock. Definitely not worth the upgrade... The hard ware button is a good design I think.. lock button on my tab 2 already feels like it's going unresponsive.... Having one more button to wake up the device is a good thing right?

The Verizon tab 2 has a 1.2ghz snapdragon (mine's OC'd to 1.7ghz ). Actually, it's essentially the Galaxy S3 with a larger screen and suckier resolution. From the looks of it, this is going to be a regurgitation of the Verizon tab 2 as a non-LTE model.

The S4 isn't only a 200MHz increment, but a more efficient micro architecture A15 vs A9.
Remember how a 1.8Ghz Core 2 Duo had greater performance than 3.7Ghz Netburst Pentium D?
Thats the type of difference that A15 makes over A9

Not update to 5.0, is dual core processor
Enviado desde mi GT-P3110 usando Tapatalk 2
I'm still hoping they'll hit a middle ground somewhere between this and the Note 8. Assuming this is a $150-$199 device (plus accounting for assumed iPad Mini updates in a few months) they pretty much have to have a 'mid-tier' small-ish tablet for around $250-299. But given the Note 8's exceedingly average resolution (not to mention its price) I'm not holding out too much hope of a unicorn-like device that's a true successor to the Tab 7.7 anymore.
I ended up selling my Nexus 7 (buggy, pathetic speakers.) But maybe the rumored Nexus 7.7 will end up being close to what it's cracked up to be.

This test is definitely a hoax. Everybody knows i9500 has a better battery life, camera lens, and stronger CPU. In this test the scores are too low of the i9500. I always get at least 28k+ on Antutu and 13+ on Quadrant. (Fully stock)

Engadget really aren't respectable any more.
I find it laughable how middle of the road the comparison is.
I'm not sure why they'd review like this -- clearly other people have got different results.
And is the call time really so bad on the Exynos model?

Funny how everyone gets mad when the exynos isn't as dominant as some fanboys here expected it to be.
Isn't Engadget an Apple loving fansite now? (and so is Anandtech, and Gizmodo... the list goes on)
Gsmarena at least test better than Engadget, who don't have a clue what they're doing, but they did slip on this one XD
The performance differences are indeed subtle, but I'd like more accurate information regarding battery life, are there any other links that test this?

Its basically your preference. Both are great devices, its either you want a phablet which you use with two hands or a smartphone you use with one. If your going for an everyday use kind of phone i'd go with the s4. But like the above poster said if you want a phablet just hold off for another month and get the note 3. But if your on an american carrier which I don't think you are then the bootloader would be locked on all the new devices coming out.

I would go for the note if you want gaming , s4 gets hot very fast up to 44c while note never goes above 35c in asphalt 8, also battery lasts longer in gaming with note 2 , only bad thing is note has little bit of micro lag in response @ max details vs s4. Note 3 would be best solution fir gaming or one max when they get out.
In less than a month note 3 will be out ... i think if u are going to buy now it's worth to wait maybe see the first reviews of it and then buy ...
But generally in gaming bigger screen and battery is a big plus ... also if hardware/software optimization is done right this time by samsung the phone will not overheat ... at least not that much as the s4

You talking about 44c battery or cpu?

I don't play games on my mobile, but if I did I would go for Note 2. As I have used it for more than 7 months, I can concur that it was an amazing device. It was smooth, fast and didn't get as hot as my S4. I sold it and bought S4 for only one reason, size. It was way too big for me. I love the overall size of S4. But it stutters more than Note 2, especially I miss the fantastic stock browser of Note 2, the stock browser on S4 is next to horrible. God knows what Samsung have done!
Anyway, I am happy that I bought S4 and sold Note 2, I don't regret my decision a tiny bit, but if someone is happy or comfortable with the size of Note 2 then I see no reason to buy S4 over it.

Your scores on Anomaly 2 Benchmark

Hi !
With others guys we are a french team and we have made a website about Android games. We do news and french reviews with Youtube videos.
In a the last news I have presented the new application of benchmark made by 11 bit studios, developer of Anomaly Warzone Earth and Anomaly Korea, and this benchmark application have the particularity to test the power of Android mobiles just in game performances.
Link of the news for more info (in french, but you can probably find another news in english in the web) : http://androgames.fr/anomaly-2-benchmark-testez-vos-performances-en-jeu/
Results : http://androgames.fr/anomaly-2-benchmark-liste-et-classement-des-resultats/
Direct link of the application : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.elevenbitstudios.anomaly2Benchmark
I think it's interesting to have a list of results of diferents mobiles to do comparison, so I have started to make it with mobiles of our french community. But we haven't all mobiles so I suggest you to participate in this list.
We need some informations (you can put this on comments of the topic or directly on comments in the news of website) :
- your mobile's model
- result of test in low quality
- result of test in medium quality
- result of test in hight quality
Thank you !

Ok. Galaxy Note 2 here, slightly overclocked to 1.8Ghz, GPU @ default.
Lot's of stuff installed, not a benchmarking rom
Some flickering textures present during benchmark.
From observing the gameplay so to speak, low is the only quality that is smooth enough for gaming

Perfect, thanks
I ran the game on medium and high setting, scene 2, when road explodes it's a bit lagging on frames, but imo ran smooth and btw graphics looks awesome on 1080 screen
