Best replacement cable? - Galaxy S 4 Accessories

My stock cable is a little bent. What's the best cable for charging? Preferably avaiable on Amazon please.
Thanks!

Hi,
i use this one for replacement of my original samsung one. http://amzn.com/B00C28L5UW
I couldn't detect any differences in loading speed between this and original samsung one.
But the phone side plug is very big. So be careful before buying and measure if its fit if you use any case. I use the Urban Armor Gear Case and it fits perfectly.
Also flashing works without problem with this cable.

Thanks for the link, I need a new cable

I just got 2 new cables AND chargers from ebay for $18.99 delivered. They are OEM and appear to be from Verizon because the stickers on the USB cable mention Backup Assistant. The are both brand new & packeged in bags. They have 1 cable & charger for $8.99.

I have tons of black USB cables and was looking for colored ones to make it easy to grab in the car (black interior). Found these iFrogz in different colors and slim profile. Good reviews on Amazon, sold at Staples, but can be found for only a few bucks on eBay.

HTC OEM Dock?

Anyone know when the OEM dock will be available?
The only dock I have seen was a Car cradle. I think it would be available 5/7

i'm not sure about that dock because if you look at the dock the micro usb is on the wrong side for the htc one s
Not original, http://www.amazon.co.uk/FoneM8-Sync...8LA2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1336411974&sr=8-1
Do you think a HTC evo 3d dock would work with the HTC one s?
does anybody think that the htc one x dock will fit the htc one s?

I bought the Amazon one and am the second reviewer of it. The one thing I forgot to mention is how bright the LED is. It literally lit up my room at night and I could walk around as if I had a nightlight on. I cover it with electrical tape and problem solved. I also edited that review.

This is perhaphs a stupid questions but just wanna be sure since the last time I bought a dock for my HTC Sensation, it came with two different cables - one for data transfer/syncing and another for charging and neither would do both at the same time which was obviously not what I wanted and so had to return it and all that drama.
My question is - Does this dock allow you to do data transfer/sync and charge the device at the same time?
Thanks!

Since you bought it, let me ask you: Do you know if my phone will fit into the dock without taking off the TPU case that I keep the phone in?
I have this dock and the Diztronic case. It will NOT fit with the case on. It makes the phone too thick and just slightly too long to line up with the USB port.

I don't know. I don't use a case on mine. But how thick is the side on that case? It probably wouldn't without taking the case off.
EDIT : I tried my brothers One S on my dock because his has a silicon case. It's a thin case, and with it on you can use the dock as a stand, but it's not quite enough for data or power connection. Given that, the TPU case here looks small enough that it might work.

I just ordered the Hyperion stand from Amazon...it's available via Prime for $19.99.
I have the clear Cruzerlite Android case and will see if it works with it on when I get it.
Received the Hyperion Desktop Charging Cradle today via Amazon Prime.
The way the dock is designed seems that it will not work with any type of case on the HTC One.
Since the Cruzerlite case is so easy to put on & take off, it's not a real big deal...just a bit of an inconvenience.
I'm planning to keep this dock until something better comes along.
(RANT)
I'm just a bit upset with the delivery service that Amazon used.
They were so lazy that they actually threw my package from the sidewalk in front of my house onto my porch...there are 6 steps up to my front porch.
The thing that gets me is that the package fell off the porch and landed on the side of the house!
I saw this happen, but they drove off before I could give them a piece of my mind!
(END)
Quick question for those who bought the Hyperion Desktop Charging Cradle...does your One S indicate A/C or USB Charging when being charged on this dock?
Mine for some reason shows USB, but the Parameters Output: 5V 1000mAh (on the box)
Shouldn't that be A/C...not USB?
anyone try the oem evo 3d dock looks like it might be a good fir plus added hdmi functionality.
Anyone know if the hyperion will work with MHL adapter to bring hdmi functionality while docking?
I also found a dock made by a company KIDIGI that offers case compatibility while docked.
I am useing the evo 3d dock, Posted a picture. You would need to modify it alittle.

RND Nexus 4 dock review

Hey guys, I bought this Nexus 4 dock on Amazon and received it today. It's specifically designed for the Nexus 4 and fits like a glove. It is currently OOS but this dock looks exactly the same and is $10 cheaper than what I paid. D'oh! The dock works with or without a case thanks to a little insert that changes the size of the dock port. I tested the dock with my Diztronic TPU case and without.
What I like about the dock:
Plain and understated design with no logos or blinky LEDs
Matches the Nexus 4 with or without case perfectly
Works with or without a case
The N4 slides onto the micro usb port with little hassle. I think this will end my attempts to put in the micro usb cable upside down in the dark before falling asleep.
Surprisingly, the speaker doesn't sound too muffled despite being covered by the dock. I was able to comfortably have a conversation over speakerphone and watched a couple YouTube videos without issue.
You can lightly tap things on the screen without it tipping over
Charging works fine thus far. You can also plug it into a computer USB port to sync stuff
Cheap, at least compared to a Qi charger
What I don't like:
You need to hold the base with one hand to pull out the N4. It's made out of hollow plastic. A heavier, more solid feel would be nice, but the base would probably have to be made out of iron to slide out the N4 with one hand.
Included USB cable is short, around 3 feet long
Included wall charger works, but looks and feels cheap. I just plugged in my OEM charger instead
Here's a flickr set of some additional pics I took of the dock.
I'd highly recommend this little guy. IMO, current Qi chargers aren't worth the high cost for the extra convenience they provide. This dock strikes a better balance of convenience and price, and doesn't scrap too much on quality where it counts.
Looks decent. I had something similar for my old Evo. Be interesting to compare to the new Orb one. I just like the idea of magnets doing the work and not worrying about misalignment of the usb port.

Agreed, the orb charger looks ideal. That said, I don't think that this dock will hurt my micro usb connector - I can dock it with far less fuss than connecting the wire manually. But maybe that's just me and my poor hand-eye coordination. :highfive:
This looks ideal. Does anyone have a link to order one from Hong Kong? I have much better luck ordering from there to Canada than I do from the US...
Not sure if this is the same dock, but looks almost identical: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KiDiGi-Ne...520772?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2327426fc4
A question to the OP, I noticed from your pics that you were able to use the dock whilst the Nexus was in a Distronic case...was this a comfortable fit? I have bought the Ringke Fusion which is similar in shape to the case you're using.

Yep, the Diztronic case fit perfectly. Not too snug, not too loose. The phone slides down to the USB connector just by gravity alone. You then push the phone down a little and it locks in.

I own 2 of the RND docks, one for an HTC Inspire and one for the Galaxy Note. I went to buy one for the Nexus 4 but it was out of stock then Google had the Orb so I ordered that instead (a lot more expensive but I need to keep the phone for 2 years at least so might as well enjoy it). I really do like these docks, they are very easy to drop your phone into, holds it at a very nice angle and I have never worried about damaging my USB port with it (unlike the Samsung Car Dock which always worried me).
I may still buy one of these for travel as they are small and seem to pack up well. I cant speak to this one specifically as I don't own it but if it is anything like the other two I have it is a very well build product. The one thing that has me a bit concerned is the statement about the cables. The cable they shipped with the old ones were definitely not short, I use one in my bedroom and it is about 6' long. They used to ship a long charge only cable and a shorter data cable, maybe they stopped doing that.
@rmgill Just wanted to thank you again for the recommendation. I bought the cheaper version you linked to in the OP and it appears to be the same as the more expensive one you bought. Very nice dock and killer price. Unfortunately, they're out of stock or I'd pick up another one for my desk at work.
I have a Ringke slim case on it and it slides into the dock with just the right amount of tension. Doesn't feel flimsy or particularly cheap and the back supports it well enough that I don't worry about the microUSB port getting damaged. Definitely recommend it.

Looking for a case that covers USB port

I Bought my mom a Galaxy S3 and the otterbox case and I like how it covers the USB port to prevent dirt from getting into it.
My question is, is there something like that for the Nexus 4, I have the nexus 3 and it's gotten the always charging indicator and the power level is kind of out there (showed 43% for a couple hours popped the batter out and back in and it was at 11% instantly) so I am getting ready for a nexus 4 but want a case that will cover it since the only time I need it exposed is when it's charging. (also help full if it supports a larger battery not a deal breaker though).
I've tried searching but all of them I can find has the USB port exposed or what looks like it is exposed

I'm not sure you'll ever be able to get a larger battery, so there are no cases to support them.
I, too, have never seen one that covers the USB port. I'd think that might be a more common request thanks to wireless charging.

You can find the little rubber USB and headphone plugs on eBay.

oh cool, I didn't think they sold just the cover by itself I thought I had to find a whole case for them.
While my Nexus 4 is still on the order queue, I'm looking for a case. Not sure yet.
I'm currently looking at the Rearth Ringke Fusion, Mecury TPU, and the Cruzerlite Bugdroid Circuit TPU.
A bumper with port covers too!
I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a a protective bumper with micro usb and earphone port covers. I use wireless charging and bluetooth earphones and seldom use those ports.
The separate plugs look kinda cool except for the fact that I would have two little extra pieces of plastic/rubber to keep track of, ugh.
Search eBay for " Black Rugged Hybrid Hard Case Belt Clip Holster Kickstand Google LG Nexus 4 E960 ".. Covers earphone jack and USB port.. Be warned though, this case has a toxic odor that doesn't go away for like a week or 2.

Another vote for the iBolt dock. Secure, functions well, doesn't obscure the camera, lets the S4 in a Trident Kraken/Otterbox Defender fit, etc... pricey but worth it IMHO.

It does not fit, but you can shave down soft plastic of the iBolt connector pretty easily with a x-acto/hobby knife. Or any sharp knife really. Took me 1-2 minutes to do. See my post with pictures here:

There's also a bunch of other useful info about the iBolt dock in that thread.
I'm a big fan of these
http://www.amazon.com/cell-phones-accessories/dp/B002K9IPOC
It mounts securely and it solid and it's easy to clip and unclip the phone one handed. Adjustment is also one handed via push buttons and you can rotate it to and from landscape without changing your adjustments. My S4 will be my third phone to occupy the mount.

I've tried all the better model of car docks and the Craigsdocks dock is by far the best, IMO.
http://www.craigsdocks.com/samsung-galaxy-s3-s4-note-ii-car-dock/
Charges, secure holding. Can put the phone in and remove it, all with one hand. No putting it in the dock and then plugging in the USB cable. Nope, this one is all done in one easy motion with just one hand.
A bit more $$, but it will work with any Samsung Galaxy phone. S2, S3, S4, Note II. So it's pretty much future proof as long as Samsung keeps putting the USB port on the bottom of the phone.
It also works with extended batteries and large cases. And billet aluminum. I just can't really say enough good things about this dock.

That's exactly what I was going to do, right flat on the base with industrial strength Velcro tape - don't use screws, just Velcro that thing right to it and it should work just fine that way, the CraigsDock has a very flat base on the back of it and would work great with the flat face of the ProClip vehicle mount! Just make sure to get all the screws set first, obviously, or else you'll have to peal back the one side of Velcro just to get to it. Use Velcro tape and not double-sided tape because then you can't work with it quickly or switch out components when you get a new phone as easily! PROTIP :good:
Has anyone here tried out a magnetic mount?
I really like the iOttie One Touch XL that I just got. It has a very strong suction cup and an easy one click lock/release mechanism.
I got it on a sale from Meritline.
I'd also tried another iOttie that's more compact. While the S4 fits it, it's near the end of the range so it's more of a two handed operation to put the phone in the holder. I much prefer the Easy One Touch linked above.
I've had an iottie. Works ok but with my galaxy s4 my phones has fell out a couple times. Worth the extra money for ibolt

[Q] Dock for Neo Hybrid

Hi Everyone.
I am looking for a docking station (mostly for charging) for Note 4.
The catch is that I would love to have it working with Spigen Neo Hybrid case, specially because they have released aluminium version of it (http://www.spigen.com/brands/samsun...te-4/galaxy-note-4-case-neo-hybrid-metal.html).
So far I know that Neo Hybrid case is too thick on the bottom to let the USB port form official Samsung Multimedia Dock reach phone USB socket.
Does anyone have any experience with any docking station which would charge Note 4 in Neo Hybrid ?
This is one of the primary reason why I dump the Spigen Neo Hybrid I had for my S4. It looks like Spigen carried forward the design problem to the Note 4. I'm having no problem using my charging dock with my Note 4 that has a Samsung Protective Cover.

THANKS! And the USB plug is long enough to reach through the case? That's the only problem I've been having. All of the USB plugs on the docks are too short, even those which are supposed to support a slim case.

After Friday, (and after jhom52 confirms my question) I'll order this dock. Friday is payday. I also have a Neo Hybrid case (it made my phone too wide and tall, but was really nice, so I kept it JIC). I can try the dock with the both cases I have.

Yep. It works with my Note 4 with the Samsung Protective Cover and my S4 with UAG case. I use it every night to charge my device.

Just had to confirm!
I've bought and returned 2 docks from Amazon so far and don't want to do it again. -_-

No problem. Unless they changed the design, you should have a working dock for your device. Enjoy.

I will!
And I'll report back here ASAP with how it works with the Neo Hybrid case I have.

Given my experience with the S4 and the Neo Hybrid, I'll bank on the dock not working with the Note 4 Neo Hybrid.

Honestly, I agree, but I can at least test it since I already have the case and will be getting the dock anyways.
The Neo Hybrid case adds almost 1/8 inch to each side of the Note 4, so the phone gains an additional 1/4 inch in height and width. So, finding a dock that has a USB connector long enough to reach past the extra 1/8 inch on the bottom of the phone+case, and still fully plug into the phone will be pretty hard. But, as I just said, I'll still try it. Who knows? Maybe it'll work.
EDIT: BTW, the case I'm always using is in fact the Samsung Protective Cover. OP, if you are looking for an alternative to the Neo Hybrid, I highly recommend the Protective Cover. It's really a nice case, pretty slim, and is really comfortable in the hand. More comfortable than the Neo Hybrid.
Personally, I don't understand the design of some case companies. There is little consideration about the impact of their design on other aspects of the device such as in this case charging stands.

Thank you for suggestion. I already have 2 cases which fit perfectly in Samsung multimedia dock (from Note 2 I believe). One of them is Spigen Capsule and other one is Diztronic.
I just really like the design of new version of Neo Hybrid with real aluminium (looks like Note 4 itself). But it has to fit to the stand. Samsung multimedia dock has too short USB plug.

I am looking forward to hear about your experience with this dock. Thank you.

http://www.amazon.com/RAVPower®-Uni...sim_cps_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=15FY5K212N5WMP0WPB9S. Here is link to a less expensive version of the same dock I bought. They look exactly the same but distributed by a different company. I believe this is closer in price to the one I bought.
@TherionTheGreat:
The dock arrived today and YES, the Neo Hybrid case DOES work with it!
The dock has a spring loaded piece that the micro USB port sticks through. You put your phone on the dock and press down on the phone until it starts charging. After that, you release the phone and it should stay in place because it will rest up against a pretty "sticky" (not sticky as in leaves residue) rubber part. I put my phone in my Neo Hybrid and put it on the dock. I had to press fairly firmly (not enough to possibly cause damage to phone, case, or dock, but enough to add pressure), and sometimes it took me two tries, but the phone charged! I even lifted the dock and gently tapped it against my dresser a few times and the phone kept charging!
I have a few pics.
The first one is of my phone's charging light while my phone is on the dock with the Neo Hybrid case on.
The second picture is of my lockscreen while the phone is sitting on the dock and wearing the Neo Hybrid Case. (The black bar is just me censoring my real name, which I have on my lockscreen).
Third picture is of the front of the dock. Notice the black rubber piece (looks gray in the picture)
Fourth is of the front with me pressing down on the spring loaded part.
If you're still interested in the dock, buy from the link in the post above. At the time when I bought mine (from the original link), there were only 3 left in stock.

Good to hear that the dock works with the Neo Hybrid. Spigen must have widen the USB port on the Note 4 version as compared to the S4 version.

Great to hear that. Thank you. I will try to order it. It even looks like the usb plug is very long.

Welcome
I didn't even take the USB cable out of its package. I just used the stock Samsung one that came with my phone. I can measure the dock's USB if needed. I'm at work right now, but can do it later tonight.

Pretty sure a dock won't make your phone explode. Only a third-party battery or charger, or even a charger that's too powerful.
