While i was fiddling with some apps through Titanium backup i deliberately wiped stock music player app. I do have a backup(done via Titanium Backup) of the same but i cannot restore it the way i backed it up. Can someone please help me to get the apk file of Samsung Stock music player app... ?
And also the method through which i can install or restore it in working condition ? Any help will be appreciated.
I really liked the sound customizations of stock music player app which is even greater in stock Samsung JB music player app. Someone help me get either ICS or JB Samsung stock music player app which should be compatible with my Galaxy R.
I'm on Stock ICS (I9103ZSLQ3) with ardatdat kernel v4.2 b6

Delete odex file of music player app if exists.
Flash it in recovery. If it doesnt get installed then extract the apk file and install it like normal apk or push it to system/app/ and set permissions.

Use any root explorer (say solid explorer)
Go to root folder -> system -> app
there you will find MusicPlayer.odex file. delete it.

You just need to copy and paste the apk file from your sdcard to system/app folder.
here is about how you set permissions
In this case you need to set permissions as 0644 (-rw-r--r--)
P.S. Flashing the zip file i attached will do everything. Manual procedure is just incase if it doesnt work.
I flashed it through CWM although it plays the song but none of the sound effects are working... and the player itself keep crashing once in a while.
Are you also using the same version of that ? Is this compatible with our SGR?

Yes I am using the same. For me it crashes only when i press 'End' button in options. Else it works flawlessly. For you It is crashing oftenly may be because you didnt delete odex file! Equilizer doesnt works, it is a known bug. Visit this thread.
If you dont like this S3 music player. i can upload stock one also!
SGS3 music player is great. I was using it for a while on ICS.

I wanted that stock player for Equalizer only if it won't work then its of no use to me. I uses Galaxy Tab 2 which has the same music player as SGS3 and i really like its Equalizer very much but i can't use tab for my music needs everywhere, that's why i wanted it in my SGR.
Anyway could u please upload Stock Music player of Galaxy R ?

Not working for me too.
if you desperately need that music player only, then you need to reflash rom.
else you could also give a try to MiUi Music player. Equilizer works flawlessly and Music player is awesome.

Flashing the ROM is the last thing i'd do coz i'm too lazy to do all that backup and restoration thing. I'd try this Miui player.. thanks for that

Here is logcat
it wasnt mentioned hence i took 2 logcats
1) during pushing file to system only (logcat1) (ignore following if this is sufficient)
2) first one followed by reboot (logcat2)

been using acura 2.3.6 tango rom for a while now... it has dsp on it. while it crashed frequently before when i had equalizer (app) installed as well, it behaves much better now that i froze equalizer. movies sound really great with dolby+dsp using the stock player

Beats Audio
After flashing the latest beats audio libs (attached), the music quality in headset has certainly been improved. It doesn't add any Bass to the music but indeed it adds quality to the music.
[TESTED ONLY IN STOCK 4.0.4 DEODEXED]. I have no idea about other ROMs. Please keep the CWM backup ready .

For the music lovers who wants the right music player (besides Poweramp) that uses beats audio libraries here you go.
MIUI Player with Beats audio rocks. Unlike SGS3 ported player, MIUI has equalizers. Though it doesn't have predefined effects option to choose (that supports all the effects of beats) but still it rocks and it is the best player that uses beats audio as of now.
If I find any DSP manager modded with beats that really supports all the beats music effects and works fine with SGR, will keep you informed.

Can you check if the below files exists and their permissions as well.
Inside /system/app folder - MusicPlayer.apk
/system/lib - libmusicsquarelib.so
The permissions should be rw-r--r--

Cwm zip seems to be perfectly fine. I removed the files manually and then flashed the zip file. Got the files back and everything working fine.
Can you check the free space of system lib folder.
If you have experience in moving files to system folder you can extract the zip file and manually move the files inside system folder.

You mean to say only .apk file is ti be installed ?? no CWM flash ??
well i downloaded this and flashed it thru cwm..now the problem is the phone boots up to homescreen and after say some 10sec, it just freezes up...and only thing i could do is restart....
also i noted that app is installed...
rite now restoring back the cwm backup..
any else facing the problem..

thanks for ur post. i flashed it on rocket rom v3 xxls7. i didnt notice any difference. or is there any other of enabling it. btw i opened it in applications and enabled it. but no difference

It doesnt work with all the music players
Use google play music and enable in awesome beats app
This is not my work, but a personal editing that I did based on the mod created by AC! D TEAM; It works great on both Sammy rom and AOKP / AOSP.
If you want to try, of course, at your own risk (sorry, but I have to specify it).
Personally, I always use it and I am very satisfied.

lee's file in general section worked fine for me on rr v3 ls7
just make sure you have enough space in system before flashing it.
go to sounds- music effect enable it
then enable in app in app drawer , mine doesnt ask for upgrade though

I think it's a matter of free space in the system; however, I only use this package and has never given me problems ...: (
If you can not resolve, you may delete the cache of applications that conflict and then delete them manually ...

Hey, after flashing the AwesomeBEATSv3.zip
Go to Settings->Sound -> music effects -> select Awesome Beats
then in your app drawer go to awesome beats set settings as wanted
the best settings for me are
Speaker - Beats Boost - Enabled and Slight effect strength
- Beats Equalizer - enabled and preset to vocal booster
Headset - Dynamic Range Compression - Enabled and moderate
Beats Boost - Enabled and moderate
Beats Equalizer - Enabled and preset to bass booster and loudness compensation disabled
Headset virtual room effect - Enabled and room type to stage

I cant play music via any music player for 5 to 10 mins.. vibrates and force closes.. no way to fix or uninstall..
Disabled the noozoxide and nooz player in application manager but no use...
Please help me to get rid of this problem...

Deletes the cache of applications, then use a file manager and delete them (the applications) from "system\app"; reboot in recovery mode and delete cache/davilk cache.
I hope this helps, otherwise you should delete / restore all the dll...
But what rom are you using? I have never had any problem with the roms used...

Do not use it, probably that rom has integrated some other sound mods that is in conflict with this ...

Force closes on every music player I tried Stock, Google Play, and Walman app.
On RRv3 - Awesome Beats was made for RR so don't think its the ROM at fault.

if u really need that stock player
1. try installing stock rom again
2. backup the stock music player using titanium backup.
3. reflash the rom u want.
4. now restore the stock music player using titanium backup.

This is the music player from the S5, it is a flashable zip.
It doesn't work, you can only open it and see how it looks like some people said it's working but not for me but at least you can try it.
It crashes all the time but I was hoping someone could get it working.

It works for me if i dont go to the album chart. Chosing artist works fine but it fcs if i press album.

Because of my random stupidity I totally forgot to backup the old music apks. Is there anybody who has the original files saved on a file host and is willing to share them with me? I'd be very thankfull, since I'm still on (rooted) stock rom and don't have any ROM around to extract these files from. Thx in advance!
