[Q] No Root for i815 LP11 - Galaxy Tab 7.7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have followed all of the root procedures laid out here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849235 to no avail. The tablet always gives a "E:failed to verify whole-file signature / E:signature verification failed".
One thing I did note is that the instructions say to open the "root.zip" file. However, I only have the Root_SuperSU.0.96.Only-signed.zip file showing on my external card.
Is this something that has changed after a certain date? I'm trying this as of 12 Oct 2013, and the instructions are from much earlier this year.
Please advise.

The tutorial you are using is for the 6800, and you both own the i815, that's why it isn't working.

[Q] Froyo root for samsung continuum

Hey, I've been working on rooting my continuum with the new froyo leak. Everything seems to be working just fine and then when I try to run cwm recovery it always has the following message: E:failed to open/sdcard/update.zip (No such file or directory) E: signature verification failed Installation aborted.
I've tried starting over, renaming the zip file, deleting it from the sd card and putting it back on again, nothing seems to work and I continue getting the same message. PLEASE HELP!

Use "toggle signature verification" in CWM ?
Forever living in my Galaxy Ace using XDA App
I don't have CWM. That is what I'm trying to reboot into when the file keeps saying it doesn't exist.
I followed all of the directions exactly, but perhaps there is something that I should have done or had on my phone before attempting?

I am having the same problem. It was not clear on the guide I read to just replace the recovery file and now when I try to flash the update file it comes up with the
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation Aborted
I want to try these files you suggest and see if it works. If it doesn't what should I do.
I hate being the stupid noob.

[Q] problem creating update.zip

My phone is a samsung galaxy S3 clone, GT-9300 running ICS 4.0.4
No idea which manufactor it is, I got it from a marked in Thailand, and the phone is marked with Samsung and look exactly like the original. A bit different layout behind the battery cover though.
I did follow the guide from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1610121&nocache=1
I also did use the auosign program to sign the update.zip file and got a new update_signed.zip file
But when I try to apply the update_signed.zip file from recovery mode I get this message:
-- Install /sdcard ...
E:signature verification failed
Signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Any idea why this happens?
I have attached mu update file here if anyone cares to take a look at it.
View attachment update_signed.zip
solved..
I found the solution by flashing the modified recovery that was mentioned in this thread.
Also I found that my phone is identical to the one pictured in that thread by OP.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1921178
I ended up flashing the whole rom, recovery and applied the camera 1013 archive as well, and now my phone is almost ok.
My problem was that I lost my camera after a dubious update. Now the main camera is working, and the gps that never worked before is also working (although weak signal), only problem now is the front camera is not working.

[Q] pollux_windy issue

New member so can't post this in the Dev forums/threads, hopefully someone picks it up here ...
I have a Galaxy Note 10.1 N8010.
I have rooted properly (I think ... ?) and am trying to install pollux_windy to be able to install Ubuntu Touch.
I am however having an issue with the pollux_windy.zip install
When I tried the initial download it gave me a Status 7 error, about checking versions.
I removed the version check lines, but now I get a (Status 6).
When I enable the log it says:
Opening update package ...
Installing update ...
line 1 col 58: syntax error, unexpected BAD
1 parse erros
E:Error in /external_sd/pollux_windy.zip
(Status 6)
Installation aborted.
I:Can't partition non-vfat: datamedia
I:Can't format unknown volume: /emmc
I've been trying this for the last 2 days, and seemingly it's a relatively simple exercise according to
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2168999
so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Anyone?
Do I need to include any more details that I am missing?
Am I doing something blatantly stupid, that I shouldn't be doing?

I haven't tried ubuntu yet, so I may be wrong, but think the pollux_windy image is not for our note 10.1, but for a Sony tablet.

Sorry, I didn't see your post until now.
You are lucky, both the pollux_windy and n8013 ubuntu touch is my work.
So to be clear: pollux_windy is for the Sony Xperia Tablet Z (WiFi only)
You need to flash n8013 (same as n8010, WiFi only versions both).
Just go to my thread: Ubuntu Touch, the rest is there.
Also, you can PM me if you want until you get 10 posts.

[Q] ERROR: E: Signature Verification Failed HELP!!!

Whenever I try to install the clockworkmod on my phone manually it says: "E: Signature Verification Failed"
I have A Samsung Galaxy Exhibit t599n.
Please reply back if you have a solution.
You can toggle this when you go into 'install zip from SD card'. If you select 'toggle signature verification' it will display 'enabled' and then select again and it will be 'disabled'. That should work. If it doesn't, don't flash that ROM, try downloading it again, check MD5 sums, check that it is a ROM for your phone, and if all are the same, have another go.

Don't you need cwm to do that?

Oh sorry! I mis read! Only have a little screen you see. Try re flashing it? Or another method? That is bizzare. Sounds like the one you are trying to flash wasn't signed when it was compiled. So yeah, try another version of CWM
