From some days now everytime I tried to charge my Tab it would show an X mark on the battery icon and it would charge really slowly. But yesterday the tab ran fully out of battery and when I connected the cable this happened (check the video link) : http://videobam.com/nrRIt .
I can't turn the tab on with the cable either plugged or unplugged. My cable is the original one (that came inside the box). Do you guys know anything that could help me?

What ROM are you on? Did you flash or update anything system related recently? Did you try another charging cable? More than one outlet?

I have been searching for an answer for this problem but couldn't find one
My stock gingerbread 2.3.5 not rooted GR has following problem
I woke up and tried to charge my GR but it didn't recognize the charing cable, so i tried it on the GS2 cable of my dad and it didn't work also.
I have tried the GS2 on my charging cable and it worked and i have already tried an GR battery of my friend and the problem was there too.
The GR does not recognize my OTG cable wich was working a few days later and also works on my nexus7 perfectly.
The GR USB cable does not work also.
I have let it on and it showed me 14% Battery and after one hour (not plugged into the charger) it showed me 30% battery.
When I tiried to charge it when it was off, the Battery appeared and it showed the loading circle in the battery then the screen went off and after 5 seconds, this repeated until you plugged it off.
My question is what i can do with it?

First of all this thread should be in QA thread and not in General...
secondly..by reading your problem...i can say that there is some thing wrong with your USB cable..
have tried to charge it with usb cable on PC ??
if you have left with warranty..then SSC is your destination..!!
I habe tried charging IT on PC with USB cable but id didnt work also. Do you think restoring it will make a Difference because i dont want to lose my Game saves

This is some thing related to H/W...
Have you dropped it on floor or water by mistake...
Better to take it to SSC....

Sometimes high humidity can also damage the USB port...
As suggested by mj.vikram, its best if you give it to SSC..

Heyo guys, I've got a problem with charging my Nexus S.
When I'm using the ac adapter to charge my phone, but it is always showing in the battery menu "not charging". But if I use the USB cabel to charge it by plug it in the PC, it works.
Only sometimes it works with the charge kit, but I don't know why it does not sometimes.
Also, while it's charging with the adapter, the battery drains.
I hope that I'll get a quick answer

Try another AC adapter for nexus s and then check, may be your one is not working, if if does charge through data cable then one thing is clear that there is something in the adapter
same problems for me...
I have same problem.. the only way I can charge is to turn off phone and then insert power chord. Then phone starts off and charges. but when its already on, the phone does not charge with usb or wall chargers. I have tried multiple of them and I think its slimbeans 4.2.2 issue on nexus S.
Would it be better to go to ICS or other ROMS? or is this hardware problem for sure?

i have been on slim 4.2.2 since the first beta and my
NS charges every time i plug it in...

I bought a new one and it doesn't work either. For now, only charging with the USB port works.
I have been searching for this issue but still cannot find any solution.
My tab cannot be charged even with the official charger and cable.
After U plugged in the cable, the battery icon appeared with a lightning symbol
However the battery level didn't increase but declined gradually
I have tried to reflash the rom with full wipe several time yet it didn't help
I have also calibrated the battery. It doesn''t help neither.
It results in sometime it works well but sometime does not.
The attached files are from currentwidget and system setting.
(I know that some how currentwidget is not working well with my tab...)
Could anyone suggest the solution to it?

P.S.I dont know whether it is related to the rom or my charger/cable/tab so I post it here.

Connect to power adaptor charge to 100%.
Fails to charge within five hours then faulty cable faulty charger or faulty battery .

Sounds like a faulty cable can you get another usb cable plug it into the original charger to test.
That will tell you if the cable is at fault.

Thank you JJEgan and hygradeb. I also think the cable is the problem because I cannot have my tablet charged with my portable charger as it used to. I am looking for a stock USB cable in days and report the result to here. Thanks for your advice:good::fingers-crossed:
Hi guys...my friend gave me his Tab 2 7.0 in order to root and flash paranoid android on it...but now something terrible happens it won't charge...but it recognizes if it is plugged in or not...of it is off and I plug in the USB cable it loads the battery sign and shows me a battery with golden "juice" but than the sing disappears again...could you help me please? I read on a lot of forums that it's might just the cable but I can't test...he gave me just the USB cable... One thing I recognized is the phone showed me before rooting a litte red "x" in the battery all the time I was charging.
I'd be pleased to all answers.
EDIT: I've just cleaned the usb cable and the female input and actually it charges but it doesnt show not even on cm10.1.2 stable.

Did you try using another cable? Samsung stock cables are the worst. Most of the problems with my galaxt tab 2 and my girlfriend's s3 were caused by the faulty cable.
Just make sure there is nothing wrong with the cable or adapter you are using then go from there if it still won't charge.
Hello guys i really need your help i have samsung galaxy note 2 gt-n7105 . last night i charged my mobile fine but today morning when i plug my mobile to do charging it wont. After some struggle when i restart my phone it detects charging but actually it wont its only shows the lightning sign on battery icon but mobile is not charging even the charging is dropping . I thought that is some software issue so i turned off my mobile and put it on charging when the battery icon shown mobile get restarted again and again. It also not detecting to my laptop when i plug USB cable to it... but it is detected only by odin and added to its list.. i didnt root it yet.. i really dont know what happen to it .. I tried lots of different chargers and usb cables but they also didn't work....i also clean charging port with wd-40 but it too didnt work. hope some one help me here...
