[Q] Am I being Tracked/Monitored/Hacked? - General Questions and Answers

Posting In General For More Exposure...Nobody in the Verizon subforum could help me...
Background info
So... I traded my nexus 4 for a Verizon S4
I odined my phone a week or two ago to restore it back to stock and I switched to the provider Straight Talk....I found this problem
I'm having this problem when I send MMS.
1. I didn't notice it until today when I had a group MMS....A random number popped up in the group by 7329259297 (supposedly some New Jersey Number)
2. Didn't think of it until I started responding and the response of the 7329259297 number responded EXACTLY the same of what I wrote...
3. I thought I was being pranked on so I sent myself an MMS...and I found that it sent an MMS to myself and the 7329259297 number
*I sent a NON-MMS message to myself and the 7329259297 number does not show up... Is it possible that the number above is a gateway MMS for Straight Talk? or Am I being tracked/hacked?
I am stock rooted on ME7 build.

Manually change the MIN number

Alright guys i did search on here, and google before posting this thread and haven't really found an answer. Anyways my dads S3 has been acting weird lately, he lost his IMEI and we restored that and everything was fine, well a few days ago he had to travel and put the phone into airplane mode on the plane, got off the plane and it was stuck in roaming. At that time he couldnt receive text messages, but now he can't send texts, receive them, make or receive calls, etc. Well come to find out his MIN (Mobile identification number) somehow got changed to a phone number that hes never used or recognized. The S3 was bought brand new from verizon, and wasn't having any issues until recently.
So my question is i know in years past verizon phones had service menus that allowed you to manually change that number, but i'm not sure if the S3 has that capability or not. The other question is if it doesn't is there anyway to get it to change back automatically? He'll be home in a few hours and were gonna reset to stock and restore IMEI and reprovision again just incase that fixes it. But i wanted to ask now, so if that doesn't work, we'd have a solution.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
The MIN is not supposed to match the MTN(phone number) . They are always different.

I don't mean to argue but not 2 hours ago I borrowed a friends samsung galaxy phone to see what settings I needed to tweek on my fascinate. We are both on Straight Talk and her min was exactly the same as her phone number. Her phone works fine (data, mms and voice), mine just sends and receives text and the min is completely different from my MTN.
I am going to change it and see what happens, I will keep yall posted.
I have never had a matching MIN in my life. Most carriers use a different MIN then your number to help deter cloning.

I wouldn't if I were you. Mine is different, Walmart Straight Talk is not Verizon
my min is the exact same as my phone number
...been that way from day 1!
Mine are different, been that way since day one. Same with my previous phone too.

On Verizon my MIN same as phone number also.
Edit: from what I have been able to find it will be different if you ported your number to Verizon and will work fine. If not ported it usually someone else's old inactive number and can lose data. If you have data and call number you may get someone you don't know or will get other carrier you ported from. Can't find anything on how to change. May have to contact carrier if restore doesn't fix it.

No Service- Galaxy S3 Verizon

Hi, I rooted my phone earlier today for the first time and later installed cyanogen mod and once it was running on my phone, I was unable to connect to the Verizon network.
I flashed the phone back to stock and I still have no service. It says it is Roaming and that I am outside the US.
Messages fail to send, and when I dial a number it wants to send me to a Verizon Representative
If anyone could help I would be so thankful!
Josh

Text / MMS strangeness on ATT

Hi everyone!
Just received a new nexus 5 a few weeks ago and I love it. This is the first time I moved to Att so it took a while to port, activate, imei, this phone. Everything eventually worked and LTE seems to be working flawlessly.
However, I've been noticing that certain ppl ( both my parents iphone 5 also on att) cannot receive my txts at all. MMS or regular. However, other iPhone and android users on Att and non Att can receive my txts.
Also, my mom in law (also iphone 5 on att) cannot receive my txts when I include her in group MMS. How've, if I send her text direct, it works fine.
My APN is the default Att phone. Any ideas what I can do?
Other than these issues, everything seems great. On L 5.0.1 and have tried full resets too.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions. loving this phone!

Unlocked and s off random loses service

Well back in 2014 I purchased the htc one m8 from Verizon which was a huge mistake because the bill was huge aswell. I then left Verizon after about half a year and went to metropcs and purchased an lg. Me being a noob I didn't know that you could unlock phones for a different carrier. So for the longest time I've just been using the m8 as a really nice Ipod. So just a few weeks ago I purchased sunshine and unlocked and s off my m8. I did research and found I needed apn settings and I found the correct settings I needed for my phone. After that I called metro pcs and they tied the device to my account with the imei and the SIM card number, over the phone. It worked out dand, I could see the word metropcs at the top and I could call my friends and my parents, I could text and send picture message. It even said I had 4g lte at the top. But here's the problem. About 4 times a day I will lose all service, and to make it come back on I have to attempt to make a call and as soon as I make the call it drops and says call lost. And then give it about 5 mins and I have my service back and I get all my messages that I would have gotten before all at once. Unless I try to make that call I won't have any service. This happens about 4 or 5 times a day and it's really annoying. I need help on how to fix this. Would I need to flash a custom rom like viper rom instead of this Verizon crap? I'm running android version 5.0.1 and I am unlocked and s off.
Try a different ROM like viper and see if it solves it?

Problems with receiving MMS messages.

I have the HTC U11 Unlocked Version running on Verizon. about a month ago i switched to Android Messages because I hate verizon messages+. Everything was going great and out of the blue I no longer could receive MMS messages. I tried Textra same result. I switched back to Verizon's app and could receive them. So i took my Sims card and stuck it in 3 other phones and got the same scenario. I put my wife's Sim card in my HTC and I was getting MMS messages with Android Messages. Today i got a new Sim card activated using my G5 (Verizon version) because i read somewhere perviously to get the HTC to work with Verzion the sims must have already been activated with a phone they support that uses HD calling and all that. After activation i was now able to receive MMS messages using Android Messages on my G5. I put the new card in my HTC and I still cannot get MMS messages using Android Messages. I have also noticed my internet speeds using 4G on The HTC have dropped considerably. my G5 will consistently get 50-75mbps down and now my HTC only gets half that. Any thoughts? Could it be corrupted files in the actual OS?
Can someone delete this thread. I didn't see someone had started the same thread the day before.
