I got in a car accident yesterday and my phone was in the cup holder, we were going pretty fast and slammed into someone and the airbags deployed and his car was ****ed. I got my phone from the car about 20 minutes later before they towed the car. the phone was fine but later today the colors became really dark. When i reboot my phone the colors go back to normal for a second at the boot logo but one sec later the boot logo is dark again. could this be from damage to the phone from the accident? the phone looks in good condition. and it happened a couple of hours after the accident. i can also now see pixels in all the texts and images i have. Any Straight lines are now dotted lines on the screen. What is going on?

Yesterday, I was watching netflix, when out of the blue my xoom screen went really dark. At first I thought it froze up/randomly shut off, so I did the power+up vol reset, and it rebooted, but the Motorola logo was so dark I could hardly see it. It would still boot up just fine, but everything was so faded that I had to hover right over the screen and squint in order to see it. I was able to navigate around a little bit, till the screen went totally blank(on, but black).
I tried playing with it just a couple minutes ago but it wont turn on, which hopefully means the battery finally died so I can recharge it to see if that makes any difference(I dont think it will, but crossing my fingers anyways).
Now..I'm THINKING this is a hardware issue because even in recovery, the screen was still super super faded. I've restarted it since the screen went totally blank, and Its got nothing now. My rom I'm using was a Team EOS nightly, I think from some time last month, and I have a Canadian market wifi xoom.
P.S. The power button will still turn the screen on and off..and after the screen went black It still made the 14% battery left noise.
Any suggestions at all!? As appealing as the Nexus 7 is..I like my xoom..and I dont feel like spending money on another tablet when i've only had this one since last April.
TL;DR My xoom screen went so dark the colors were pretty much non existent, and the screen was still super faded in recovery/during the boot sequence. Now it only responds to the power button some of the time, and will reset(I'm assuming)when I hold UP VOL+Power. I'm using an older EOS Nightly, and This happened out of the blue with only a slight over clock.
Screen being super dark is usually the back light. Sorry I can't help.
Unfortunately sounds like your LCD back light is broken. So what you're going to have to do is replace the whole LCD screen on the XOOM which can cost quite a bit. Good luck!
Shameless selfbump, but interesting thing is the backlight comes on, just nothing shows up. Did the xoom just manage to brick itself in the middle of a movie on netflix? Also, If I plug the xoom into my computer, the prompt pops up almost immediately showing all the stuff that is ON the xoom. Thoughts?
Hey all,
one morning i was playing mortal kombat x on my unrooted, updated nexus 5 . And the phone got very hot. After 2 min white lines appeared. I turned off the phone wait till it cool down then turned it on but it remained the same. Made factory reset, didnt helped. Every time i increase brightness more white lines appear on screen and the screen starts shaking, icons and all going up and down. I took it to 2 services, 1. guy wouldnt take it because it is too demanding and he talked about it is something glued. 2. guy took it and said flat cable is dissconnected and he will connected it, he did that but didnt helped.
Did anyone had the same problem? Is the problem motherboard or the screen? Should i replace the screen?
How can i prevent that from happening again?
This problem suddenly cropped up yesterday: A few minutes after I turn on my phone screen, dark bands start forming and after about 6 or 7 minutes, phone becomes very dark and unusable. Also, at this time, heavy image persistence develops (which goes after about a minute or two).
The screen leaves trails when I scroll through the homescreen. Now all these faults disappear if I turn off the phone screen for half an hour. Everything will be back to normal by then (and this normality holds for about a minute)
What could be the problem? (I have only dropped the phone one time recently and that was about a week ago and the phone fell on a carpet. I don't know if some water may have gotten into the phone: I was driving my bike in heavy rain, but I had a raincoat on)
(I have some images, but I cant post them, apparently because I am a new user)

Hi, hope there isnt a thread already coz I couldnt find one.
For last few days my unit is starting up with black screen. The lcd backlight is on but no image, just black.
The 1st time I tapped and prodded and after a few mins driving it flickered back into life by itself.
Now it's doing it daily after car has sat overnight. I thought it might be the cold weather, but its still low 20's ish.
I havent done anything to it other than change a few progs. Genuine stock firmware etc. Its a mtcd px3 erising unit.
The audio works fine (if radio left on when switched off) but when the screen starts to work, it gradually fades into life while there are horizontal white flickering lines that are gradually replaced by normal image coming into view. It takes approx 7 mins from start. Isnt effected by roads, bumps etc and once on works perfectly with no flicker at all. Def' a weird one. Any one have any similar experience ?
Hey, today I was listening to music in Spotify, when I went to turn on the phone. No matter what I did, the screen stayed black, sometimes flashing the normal screen for 0,5 secs. I think it´s water damage, since I took some sick water shots with it, and 30 mins later i ejected the sim tray bc I had another phone that I wanted to upgrade from, and it was a little wet, so I cleaned it off. It was just one side of the tray. I left for dinner and left the phone at home w/out the sim tray in, so that water could dry faster. When I got home (4 hrs later), it worked normally until a min later, when it started to flicker black, so I turned it off. Any suggestions?
Bought it 4 days ago and I´m really sad :crying:
Also, everything else is fine (mobo, speakers, touch sensibility, fingerprint sensor, cameras, etc.)
