Dear All,
Appreciate your helps in advance. Android default email client when connected to office wifi doesn't sync my e-mails while if i configures my exchange account in enhanced email it works absolutely fine and all my emails starts syncing on same office wifi.
I was having an offline chat with my system administrator and he told me that they have blocked something to avoid IP pool full issue ( new users were not able to connect to office wifi as almost everyone was using two IP, one on smartphone and one on laptop).
Question is how enhanced email client is able to sync? Can i make some changes in default android email client to make it sync.?
Hope i am clear.

The company I work for doesn't support android phones for our corporate/enterprise email server, but I can access my email account on my phone through the outlook webmail site. Are there any apps that can use outlook webmail site to pull emails from? Anyone have any other suggestions for me?
Thanks!

Exchange for Android v2.x?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
What I did was create a work Gmail and then added it on my phone and have my work Email (exchange) forward all my messages to my Gmail work one, it worked for a while and then they changed security policies or something. I tried forever for a work around for it but nothing came about until I actually talked to the boss about it and he asked the IT guys if anything could be done about it, and sure enough I can now connect and use my work email
Have you asked your manager/boss about it? I wasted like 2 hours trying to get find another way to do it and but a 5 minute conversation with the boss sorted it out lol.
Yeah, I spoke with IT a few times and all we came up with was either getting an apple device or Blackberry to use on our exchange server, or use outlook webmail. Strangely, they support the droid incredible but won't let any other android device on the server. I can check everything just fine on webmail, but it would be cool if I could get notifications, or at least have a mobile friendly interface I don't have to keep zooming in and out on.
I tried that exchange for 2.x and just can't get it to connect. I have the correct server info from my blackberry and from what I use everyday on my work pc. Verified by logging in on the webmail site.
Thanks for the help so far.

For Touchdown (Exchange for 2.x) try inputting your settings as if you were setting up an iphone to connect to the exchange server. The address should be sync.domainhere.com or something like that. It may work then.
I posted this in another thread.....try Seven, it's been working great for me.
I can't post links so.... (www).seven.com
I used the default froyo email program, just set the owa address as exchange server (without h**ps://), ssl encription, my login (without domain/) and password and It has worked well .
Yeah, none of that's working for me. I've spent the day trying to configure 5-6 different apps to use the webmail exchange server with no luck. Guess I'm stuck with using the website until the IT department starts supporting other android devices on the server.
Thanks again.

What mail client should I use to access comcast acctt ? I am a totla noob, get my G-Tab today. Need some expert advise on setup...
Your mail client can be found on Comcast website.
Your POP setting should mail.Comcast.com and yiu smtp should be smtp.comcast.
Since its on your mobile device you may have an issue sending or may not...but check their website as well if that doesn't work
Hope that helps

again, we need more info or you should ask you admin / provider. you need to know if you are using ssl or not, you need to know your pop3/imap/smtp server address.
if you are able to access internet on your phone, then this is not related to T-mobile (if you don't have emails from them) or any network provider...
This are the settings used for configuring YAHOO mail manually....maybe these will help you see where you are going wrong:
For Yahoo.com
Incoming mail server (POP3): plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
For Yahoo.co.uk
Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk (Use SSL, port: 995)
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk (Use SSL, port: 465, use authentication)
Many thanks

It doesn't work for me at all. I have to use k9 to access my company mail..
No problems at all, I'm connected to an exchange 2003 server and an exchange 2010 server (home and work accounts).
Are you able to receive emails?

What mail account type is it? Hotmail, exchange, etc...
Do you enter it manually?
Probably the port is wrong. Or your provider doesn`t support imap without a premium account.
Hey guys
Long story short my company has turned off activesync for exchange.
My tablet will not run the application that we use for email.
I'm looking to find an alternative device,
Does anyone know if this RT will run exchange email without active sync???
Thanks in advance for any input

Yes. Outlook anywhere or normal MAPI works fine in Outlook (you'll need to upgrade to 8.1).
But those protocols need to be enabled by your admins.
You can do IMAP/SMTP just fine in the Windows Mail app in 8.0; no need for Outlook. You'll only need Outlook if IMAP isn't enabled on the server. The web access (usually https://exchange.server.address/mail) also usually works just fine.
Just to let people know I figured out how to do this
If any one wants to know or needs help let me know
