Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300
I installed a custom ROM, so details are:
4.1.2
Kernel
3.0.31-1314436
[email protected] #1
After flashing the ROM and reinstalling Titanium Backup, I ran a batch to install all aps and settings. I was having a little trouble with a couple of apps, nothing major. I noticed about half a dozen seemed to be showing up twice in Titanium, so I deleted one of each. All was fine, except for S Memo.
It shows as a Widget, but not in the app draw. When I try and use the widget, nothing shows and it fails to open. I have tried reinstalling from Titanium, and I have also tried downloading apks, but it never works. In Store it says incompatible with the phone, which I know it is not as it was working before I tried removing the duplicate.
Any ideas how I can get this thing working again, please.

Hi, I've had a weird problem where Go SMS Pro seems to have disappeared from my phone. I clicked the icon for it on my LauncherPro dock last night only for it to tell me "could not launch the requested activity." I looked in my app drawer and lo and behold, Go SMS Pro was gone! I tried reinstalling it from the market but once it finished downloading nothing happened, and when I tried restoring it from titanium backup it made my phone reboot. Using root explorer, I found that the app still had data on my phone in several directories, but according to Android the app is not installed at all (so I can't uninstall to remove all that data and start fresh).
What I think may have caused the problem is that I used Apps2SD to move Go SMS Pro to my phone so that I could get the widget to work properly. Could something have been corrupted that way? Also I flashed Infused v1.5.0 yesterday, but I don't think that's the problem; I wiped data and cache, although maybe restoring the app+data from TiBu after flashing messed something up. I didn't have any problems until after I moved it with Apps2SD though.
Basically I want to be able to use Go SMS again (I prefer it to the stock messaging app), so I figure I have to delete all the old data from it from my phone. If anyone with a better working knowledge than me of Android's infrastructure could help me figure out which directories I need to delete data from if I want to be able to do a clean reinstall, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
Hello
my xoom is wifi rooted/unlocked rom is stock honeycomb
Anybody out there have apps start corrupting tablet rebooting randomly?
bout a week ago some strange S*it has been going on with my favorite toy
my wifi xoom. hardware? Rom? WTF!
load a new game, it works fine. then hours later get an instant FC when i restart the same game. have to reinstall it, works for a while then same old thing.
anybody have an idea?
thank you
Try full wipe, reinstall a diff ROM and try your apps. If it works fine then
it might be your Honeycomb ROM that is giving you probs. If so Reinstall
a clean download of a stock Honeycomb ROM.
Yes I have had this. Exactly the same symptoms. One app would be installed and further would fc. When doing a logcat and looking the uid of the app, it didn't match the uid of its /data directory. So you would see permission error to open this or that. Cwm permission fix didn't fix this.
Sometimes it would correct itself. I think at some point it resulted in Google play crashing or even the tablet rebooting. Uninstall everything, reinstalled, restored backup and problem still there. Now I reflashed but did not restore my titanium backup. Also installed less app to try to find out.. since then no more problem but can't really say why, less apps, new gapp, and new rom. Maybe you could list your apps. I suspected some apps but have no real proof, so I'm careful.
Haven't seen this on the Xoom but seen this on my phone.
Turns out it was an app which was an app causing this problem.
It's not a stock app but most likely a modified app if you have any.
Figure that out and your problem is solved.
Maybe if you list which apps force close I could help you isolate the problem.

Honestly, not sure that this has to do with my transformer, but my tf101 seems to be the only device affected by the following problem:
When i go to google play, if i try to install an app that i had purchased in the past, it stays stuck on download and doesn't even start. I tried to redownload the same apps on other devices (lg 2X for example) and it works fine. My transformer did work fine until last week as well.
I've got no idea of what could be causing this, any suggestions? I tried switching back and forth from different google accounts but the problem persists. Reinstalling google play didn't work either.
Edit: it would look like redownloading certain apks works, seems like it only doesn't work with larger apk files (> 2mb, but it may be a coincidence). I'm even more confused now
Edit2: The issue is definitely related to apk dimension. Can't install from market apks larger than 20mbs. How is this possible? i'm still on honeycomb stock to avoid the ics mess, and i can remember downloading large apks fine just few months ago. Any solution?
You could try wiping your cache, force closing play, and if you're rooted wipe market stats in Titanium Backup, that should probably fix it.
Also try the install button off of a computer, and then it sends to your tf, that might get it to work.
Regarding large files... is your wifi connection decent?
Also, make sure you are able to connect and login to Talk. The Play store doesn't work properly unless you can log Talk, been there a few times. With mine, even trying to install free apps would give a purchasing error because Talk connection was getting interrupted before logging in.
I have searched everywhere for someone having a similar problem and a fix, but for the first time on xda, I haven't been able to find one.
I have a Galaxy SIII on Verizon currently running Hyperdrive RLS13.
When I open the Application Manager, click on an app (any app, it doesn't matter whether I installed it from the Play Store or from an apk) and then click "Uninstall", it does nothing but goes back to the application list. It doesn't install, I get no error message, Settings doesn't crash...it just does nothing. It's the same as using the back button.
I CAN uninstall apps within the Play Store. Occasionally the uninstall button in the Settings will actually give me the confirmation pop-up to continue with the uninstall or to cancel it. But 90% of the time it doesn't and I have to use the Play Store.
I have done a clean flash once already and the issue still persists. My fiance who has the same exact phone as me (but in white) is also running Hyperdrive RLS13 and his phone is fine. In fact, I flashed Hyperdrive onto both our phones with the same exact SD card, using the same zip file.
I've been using custom ROMs for several years so yes, I've done all the obvious things, but I've reached the extent of my knowledge on what could be causing this. Can anyone tell me if they have heard of this issue before or a possible fix? I've never had this issue outside of Hyperdrive (I would post in the Hyperdrive thread but I don't have enough posts to reply in Development).
Have you tried flashing rls14. I would do your wipes and then flash the newest release.

I just downloaded it yesterday but I haven't flashed it yet - it's moving to my SD card right now. The only reason I posted for a fix though is because reflashing 13 didn't help... the issue just randomly started occuring about 3 weeks after I originally installed Hyperdrive. It makes me wonder what caused it.
I will be flashing 14 shortly and will report back.
Following a clean RLS14 flash, I still cannot uninstall within the Application Manager.
My fiance's phone (which I also updated to 14 as well this afternoon) can do so like usual.
So...any ideas?
workaround
assuming you nandroided coming from 13 to 14, just dont select those apps you want uninstalled to backup.
flash 14, restore apps, and only the ones you want will appear.
another workaround to try is install nova, long click the icon on a homescreen, select uninstall. not sure if this is a prime faeture though.
Well, sure - the even easier workaround is to just uninstall them with the Play Store, but I'd rather find out why this is happening.
So I've searched the web and the Hyperdrive thread and can't seem to find anything ANYWHERE. Any insight would be helpful. It seems to make sense that it could be a permissions issue maybe, but I don't know enough about building ROMs to know how to go about testing that.
Repost from reddit! (someone told me to post it here)
So I was browsing through RedditIsFun today when all of the sudden the app crashed. I tried opening other apps such as Whatsapp but it kept crashing too. In fact all of the apps started crashing: from the Launcher to the Settings, they all displayed the same message:
Unfortunately XXX has stopped working
Replace XXX with the name of literally every app.
So I tried to do a Wipe. No luck: my recovery died a long time ago (and the Clear emmc option doesn't work anyway).
I tried removing the SD card. At first I thought the problem had been solved, but then the apps kept crashing again. I had Facebook and Instagram installed on the SD so removing it meant that these apps were greyed out. Trying to uninstall them lead to the apps crashing immediately.
I tried using Flash Tools to install the ROM again but the 2 times I've done this the result was the same: the phone was in the same state it was as before installing the ROM.
Later I realized no matter what I did: inserting files, deleting files, installing apps, uninstalling apps - it'd all be useless, no changes were done after rebooting.
So... is my phone dead? Is there any other option I could try before throwing it to the garbage? (the screen is broken anyway).
(Phone is an Azumi A50C, by the way)
