Hey guys,
I bought a lumia 920 from ebay last week . i didnt know that it was Locked to AT&T .Im currently in Srilanka and there is no AT&T service here.
it asks for an unlock code when i insert my sim.
I contacted AT&T with their live chat system, they told me that they can provide me the code for free but they asked me for an AT&T Account then they can give me the code asap.
so i dont have an AT&T ..
can't any of you guys who have AT&T accounts help me get the code ? ?
Thanks alot....

Hi everyone,
I currently have a T-Mobile locked G1 which I got from a friend a while ago, and now my primary phone is broken. I would like to use the G1 for now, but upon booting with the AT&T SIM card inserted I am prompted for an unlock code. I called T-Mobile to get the unlock code and they told me that I have to be a customer to get the unlock code, but that any T-Mobile customer could call in for me and get the code.
If anyone with T-Mobile would be willing to phone in to T-Mobile for me with the IMEI and get the unlock code for me, I would be extremely grateful. I can also send you a few bucks via paypal if you like for the assistance.
i understand where you are coming from but actually its not that any Tmo customer can get it unlocked its actually the phone needs to be used at least for a few calls on that customers acct. I work for Tmo so have come across this a time or two. You may try and Google Search it a bit or look in the forums and see if there is any unlocks that carrier unlock in the G1 forum or maybe a website online that would get you that unlock code..

Alright, I appreciate the help anyway. The rep I talked to said any TMo customer could do it, or she could give me the number to Google and see if they can help, so I guess I'll try that. Thanks.
Hi guys,
Whats the best and easiest way to simunlock the At&t samsung focus?
I won this from @benthepcguy from Microsoft, but I live in the Netherlands.
therefor I have no use of a at&t simlocked phone, unless I get it unlocked.
Any ideas?
Well, in the US you could take it to a AT&T store and they'd do it for you. Outside the US, you could try calling AT&T, or your could try calling Samsung directly. I think there are also sites that will sell unlock codes online, which sounds shady but apparently works, and is like $30 or something.
Why don't you tweet Ben stating your problem? He should be able to help you.

Have you test the phone to see if it's already carrier unlocked? I can't imagine why they would give away a phone that's locked to AT&T...
If you're the original owner: Call AT&T and ask the customer rep for unlock code. Use the AT&T phone number listed on your Focus's people hub. They'll ask you for the phone IMEI number.
If you are not the original owner it's unlikely that AT&T will give you unlock code (eg. your phone is locked to another account). Or you can't call them for some other reasons. In that case you can always buy the unlock code from various websites or ebay.
I have used this web site twice (http://www.cellunlocker.net/samsung-unlock.php) to unlock my 2 Focus bought from Craigslist. The unlock code cost about $8 USD each and deliver to your email instantly. Please note: that website is not based in the USA, so my credit card got charged an extra $1 fee.
From what I heard these type of sites pay Samsung/AT&T a fee for special access to their IMEI unlock code database. Either that or they have software that can crack unlock code based on IMEI. I don't know, the codes I bought from them work.
By the way, if you do decided to use that web site make sure you choose AT&T under United State of American as the network that the phone is locked to.
I recently bought a Nokia lumia 520 from Walmart (AT&T) USA.... Im from South Africa and have to head home soon due to family emergency..
I have tried a unlocking service that normally provide you with and code but they couldnt generate a pin....
Also AT&T wont release the unlock code as the phone has not been active for more that 6 months.
I do have the Imei number..
Could someone plz advise me what to do as I dont want to throw this phone away ..
Thanks in advance..
Please , anyone with info or help ???
Hey guys
Just switched to mobile and got a note edge. Just wanted to check if it was possible to carrier unlock the phone as the customer service rep was unable to help me out ? if yes, can you refer me to the website which someone successfully used ?

I asked them this question when I first looked into switching over to them. They told me that once it has been on their network for 40 days that they will unlock it for me. Otherwise I would have simply paid an unlocking site that I have used before to unlock it for me.
Phone has to be fully paid off in full as well for T-Mobile to unlock your phone.

I also argued with TMo customer service. They said I needed to keep service for 2+ months or pay $100 for an unlock. They suggested an unlock service (not the one I used) and recognized my frustration as I paid for the phone in full.
You may have already found a reputable unlock service already. Just to be redundant...
I used this service off of fleabay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/291237482332?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
It took about ~48 hrs and the provider did respond to questions promptly. I am using a Straight Talk (ATT) sim in my TMo Note Edge. No probs with voice, text, or data (8-15+ mb down, 2-4 mb up).
Will a Sim Unlocked T-Mobile Note Edge work on Verizon?
No, different type of carrier service. Sprint/Verizon CDMA, and AT&T/T-mobile GSM. You could only get a Sprint Verzion and have the prl changed to Verizon.
Dear all,
I want to unlock my mobile phone (7+ T-Mobile USA)
Can someone help me how to buy code unlock from T-Mobile USA or an service unlock with reasonable costs.
Thanks !
