Thanks . Have you tried my app? Does it work?

Whoa! This is amazing!
Believe it or not, today I was searching for best ways to record the screen directly yet I didn't find anything!
Now, I come home and see this!
This is what I call law of attraction!
EDIT: I just tried running the app on my Nexus 4!
It definitely works and the video quality is great, however, it does not work when the audio source is set to internal (It says the recorder cannot start).
Anyway, thanks a lot for sharing the app with the XDA community!
P.S. What's the link to Google Play store? I might as well purchase it.
Every time I try to start recording I get an error message (screen shots work fine).

Sooo great!! Working on Xperia T (LT30p)... Thanks dude!
I think also that there is no sense to add ads to this app ;p. But I'll try this app for sure
Great App. This really well done. Very smooth transitions through screen slides with no pickup on any lag or slowness. Although Playback of the captured video will not play the internal sound of the clip. Moto X

Very nice screen recorder but I'm more interested to the mirroring feature. Any plan when it will be available for testing?
Is it possible to mirror screen to a dlna compatible TV?

This Internal source require high efficient audio encoders, so most devices won’t support it, I'm trying to fix it by adding new audio encoders.
Note: The Stereo Channels is needed if you choose Internal audio source. Just change Shou's settings to use stereo sound, then try again.
If you could provide some logcat output, will be great to help locate the exact problem.
I've write FAQ at https://shou.tv/pages/faq
The Google Play is not ready yet, thanks!!!

1. Have you changed Shou's settings?
2. You must choose audio source as MIC or Internal to enable audio recording. The Internal source also requires you to enable stereo in most devices, just try it.
Thanks for trying! Please keep me updated.

The mirroring can work with about 2 seconds latency and very unstable right now, so I'm trying to make it better, may take about one week to make it for testing.
The DLNA will be supported too, you can even view the screen with any video player.
Also, could you provide some information to help improve Shou?
1. What's your device and Android version?
2. Have you tried to change Shou's settings to test different features? e.g. Output format, Audio source, etc.
Really thanks!

I'm running it on an LG Optimus G (LS970 on Sprint) running PAC-man. App works flawlessly. I've changed all video settings and haven't noticed much change in how the app runs and records. I haven't tried audio yet, but so far it's amazing.
Just tried with my Razr M default settings running Paranoid Android and it's working so far. I'll post back after I use it some more.

Very impressed as a first app. Highly polished and working as advertised. I purchased since in looking more forward to the mirroring. I'm hoping it can incorporate Airplay audio streaming and maybe even Miracast streaming of audio only and not do any video encoding on device, particularly if this can save CPU and/or increase the audio quality and reliability.
Now, for the recording, it worked great with default settings but would not start after attempting to change audio quality.
I'm on Nexus 4, official CM 10.2 nightly (10/09/13).

Hi everyone!
Asus EeePad Transformer hosts a very nice audio codec by Wolfson that powers both the headphone and speaker output.
Its the ultra low power WM8903, implementing a midrange DAC (Wolfson-scale) that outputs a clean and musical signal, and my favorite Class W headphone amp, that gives a clean controlled and accurate output, and is able to drive full-size 300 Ohms headphones without distortion.
The transformer audio power stage is not as powerful as other device I tune so at maximum volume but I'm sure you'll be surprised by the capability of this amp if you compare it to any other mobile non-Voodoo device.
I might limit the maximum gain to +3dB to avoid saturation.
Voodoo sound is:
A control Android application
- Free version (semi broken on Honeycomb ATM, will fix soon): https://market.android.com/details?id=org.projectvoodoo.controlapp
- Plus/Donate version: https://market.android.com/details?id=org.projectvoodoo.controlappdonate
Plus version gives the ability to get full Voodoo sound implementation without depending on a custom kernel. Root is required to load the additional driver.
Free version requires a kernel implementing Voodoo sound GPL patches as you'll find plenty on XDA.
Features of the v1 :
I'll be very accurate and describe the exact change so far.
As usual, you get what you see.
What Voodoo sound driver v1 does on transformer is mapping volume to the headphone amplifier hardware control.
In the standard configuration, here is how it works: Most time only half or less of the Dynamic Range of the DAC is used (depending on the current output volume) by trimming the signal amplitude in a digital way.
What brings the driver v1 is a maximization of the digital volume, so the system works really on 16bit instead of 12 or even less at low volumes. And instead of that you control directly the analog gain of the Class W headphone amplifier built in the codec.
It allows to get more powerful sound, like to drive full-size high-impedance headphones at desired volumes, but for most people using sensitive headphones (same for in-ear) the sound is improved because there's far less hiss by reducing the analog gain.
When you reduce the noise level, the sound is more clear and defined.
I have some more leads in development for this codec, like:
- better oversampling quality (128x oversampling, require also clock reconfiguration on the SoC)
- alternative digital filter to reduce the very high frequency intensity ( > 20kHz) in order to reduce the listening fatigue.
WM8903 doesn't support digital effects like parametric EQ or 3D effect so I won't be able to activate that, but there's still some headroom to improve the quality and neutrality of the response, audiophile-style
Here are measurements I made without any modification, on 3.1:

Planned features
- Better SRS presets for the speakers
- Maybe some volume boost for speakers if possible with reasonable quality.
- If usable and providing sufficient quality: customizable EQ & 3D effect using SRS software engine for the Headphone out.

Yes its an additional driver built around the existing one in order to use the audio hardware in the optimal way.
Most manufacturer are happy enough when their device output sounds, but in many case the result can be improved, sometimes vastly.
And I must say.. its particularly interesting when the audio hardware is made by Wolfson, because you know the result can probably reach audiophile-quality levels!
Will this also help the tf's speakers? I've beem ok wirh the headphones but not the speakers.

The first custom Kernel supporting Voodoo sound is this one, by Clemsyn! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1109630
As stated in the description today the free App is semi broken (the manual volume slider crashes on Honeycomb, but the volume key mapping works)

Voodoo Control 1.0.7 finds the driver here: http://twitpic.com/5ei07e (only the volume key mapping works ATM)
If it's not detected it means your kernel actually running doesn't implement Voodoo Sound.
Note: Clemsyn published the kernel very recently!
Just tried your apk and it's pretty impressive, sound is clearer and cripspier when I play dungeon defenders with my kids and it seems louder than the Gtab now. Didn't even think my transformer will sound like this

You're talking about the headphone output right?
Because the speaker output is not (yet) affected. I hate to contradict people hearing improvements but I must sometime by integrity
Just dl'd the free version from the market to run with Clemsyns kernel and it seems to be working nicely. Thank you very much for the hard work.
Couple of requests would be:
1. Mic gain control
2. The stock music player always pauses when the screen is off. When using headphones you can hear what sounds like the headphone feed being turned off...

Hey SC,
First, awesome job on getting this to Tf (bought the donate app awhile back for my Galaxy S, and now you're making me ha ppy with Tf).
Main feature request from my side would be mic sensitivity, this time the other way around was too sensitive on galaxys, needs pumping on tf. Also, if anything could be done to the internal mic quality on software level, would be awesome.
Thanks!
On a side note, I was sure i heard an improvement with speakers after installing control app, but that might be placebo effect.

Okay I'll take a look.
I'm already experimenting with Speakers ATM, messing with registers.
It seems its possible to boost a little bit the speaker output, but really only "a little bit": +2dB
I doubt anybody will notice, but it's still better than nothing.

4. Plug in your Jack-AVC composite cable to your TV properly, turn on TV to the right mode. only AFTER that, plug in your cable to the phone's jack.
5. Start Terminal Emulator,
6. and according to your tv standards type in one of the appropiate command:
PAL

It will ask for Root permissions. Grant it!
Will start soon. Enjoy!
On my HDTV i could only test stvpal, probably it will work on any HDTV. If using with older TVs, please report back if one of these scripts works for the tv. Not that I can fix it, but im curious.
The app will stop if you plug off the cable. Restart the app if you replug.

DEVS, PLEASE DON'T INCLUDE THIS IN YOUR ROMS. Rather link to this post.
For best results use it with Pyr'o'Ice ICS 1.0.2 or Pyr'o'Ice Sense 1.0.1, as audio-to-tv most probably won't work with other ROMs.
KNOWN ISSUES:
- Glitches some apps, especially those that use Alpha/Transparency in 2D.
- Glitchy with Live wallpapars and launcher transitions
- Frame rate is sometimes lagging, but since 1.1 much better
- Audio out might not work to tv (it works with Pyr'o'Ice ICS 1.0.2 and Pyr'o'Ice Sense 1.0.1)
- check the youtube video above to see how it works
BE AWARE THE APP IS USING YOUR CPU EXTENSIVELY, SO IT'S ADVISED TO USE YOUR CHARGER IF USING FOR EXTENDED TIMES!
DONATION:
Please consider donation if you like how the app works with your phone, it took a big heap of time to work on this! Also hit the Thanks button if you like this.

Advice:
- For gallery camcorded video playback the Gingerbread movie playback seemed to work better (no black glitches), while ICS had some troubles.
- for video playback you can try different apps. Some might result with more glitches while others with less or none. Let's try to find the best player for this app, if we can.
- some glitches appear momentarily when popups happen like Media volume setting popup.
Btw, look for a cable something like this:

Outstanding!
For a first edition beta - this is awesome.
I'm a PAL tv owner in UK (LG 720p 32" LCD) - stvpal, stvpaln, stvpalm all appear very clear on the TV screen, nice job
As well as the known issues detailed in OP first usage for me illustrates the same 'incorrect' aspect ratio on my TV as your Youtube demo.
By incorrect I mean the horizontal/width is to wide (slight cut off on both left/right side), however the height seems fine.
Very nice Tballer

The original stock rom would output the correct apect ratio to the tv (no cut off) perfectly - adjusting portrait/landscape appropriately.
On stock, the output to tv would reflect the correct persepective from the phone. Hence portrait mode on phone comes up portrait on tv (hence central on the tv screen). Again if phone is in landscape mode this is then reflected on tv screen by filling the tv screen in landscape mode without cutoffs.
I am using a HD TV, if that's what you mean.

i wont struggle with the portrait mode, its pretty much doesnt make sense to have it. but i will look at correcting the ration, although that means loosing data...the tvout device has a bigger screen to fill in horizontal resolution, a shame its not fully displayed on the tvs...

I agree, Portrait mode is perhaps not needed, unless some gamers play some games with preference in portrait mode.
Ratio, frame rate & glitch is all that's desired I guess.
I'm unsure as to why the output to tv is cut off slightly, but I'm sure some tweaking on your end will make good
Edit:
To make usage of this feature a little easier for users, I've created the necessary gscript scripts to fire up your 'tv out app' from either within gscripts or even better - add a homescreen 'gscript widget' for your appropriate tv standard (ntsc or pal/n/m) using the appropriate script for your tv.
The download below is a zip containing a gscript folder itself containing 4 scripts. Unzip this to your root sdcard such you have the gscript folder on your sd then install gscript. (Alternatively extract the individual gscript(s) and place into your pre existing gscript folder if already installed.)
Enjoy

What resolution are you getting once you are connected to an hd tv? This capability always seemed pointless to me. I don't understand what the point is since I would expect bad quality on red/white/yellow cables going into a tv

720x576 in theory. pointless or not, its fun to play games on tv either way. I wish we had the MHL chip, but we have no way to have that confirmed yet... and by default jack tvout is the only option now.

I have a spare AV lead in my car, for if whenever I'm out at a friends or wherever and we may want to watch some youtube or watch an entire series or movies from my plex servers or my slingplayer via my phone to pretty much any tv.
Point being we don't tend to go everywhere with our laptops. Your scenario illustrates home usage. Where as my angle/perception of this tvout feature is that the device is capable (ok not at 1080p HD but rather SD) of general playback & streaming in an utterly 'mobile manor.'
Which is the feautre rich aspect I refer to. Rather then the loss in signal quality you're stumbling on, I'm more for this feature as an extention to the swiss army type phone we have.
We use our phones in different ways

Raccoon Audio a.k.a R.A

Raccoon audio is audio optimization applications in the audio device is a modification and combination of multiple applications with the interface of the sound enhancer noozxoide EIZO-rewire ™ PRO simplified and modified to incorporate some engine sound enhancers like beats audio, dsp manager, SoundFX, dolby and some other.

-The difference is more RA refers to the optimization of the sound on your android device and maintain the stability of the supporting hardware audio device.
-Besides installing the RA in quite easily.
-Install RA without using CWM,
-Install RA without a push into the system,

-Effects of raccoon audio not only do you feel when playing on the music player, but the effects can be felt when you play back audio in the file browser that supports audio player, the youtube app, the internet browser

FAQ (Please read before running raccoon in audio)
Q: RA only smaller?
A: Yes, RA is a combination of several audio enhancer such as I have described above, to our use of noozxoide interface, but we simplify and modification. Our consideration is a small file so for those of you who have a small memory can also be shared in the RA, in addition to that we have some other considerations especially for low device.
Q: Is the RA safe to run?
A: Safe, because of the way RA is relatively easy to install and does not cause brick, bootloop when you install applications such as audio enhancer should use CWM, or push to the system. Besides applications like RA and other articles on tips droid always through testing stages before publication so that readers tips droid safely use our applications and tutorials. RA is also safe from viruses and mallware (tested with some antivirus on your PC and android and declared clear of viruses and mallware)
Q: RA can run smoothly on the android version is it?
A: Our RA test runs smoothly on the stock ROM and some custom ROM from several different devices both vendors (Samsung, LG, Sony, HTC, Hi-Sense) and type. In Gingerbread, ICS and Jelly Bean goes smoothly, but on froyo not work.
Q: After using RA why even a small sound effect almost no change?
A: In addition to RA, running or not depends on the compression of the song, when you use an uncompressed song irregularly, RA can not run optimally.
Q: My RA force close, what's the solution?
A: We minimize these events, some tests we did, but for some applications audio enhancer, I have tried to make the RA is compatible with other sound enhancer, but in some cases RA sometimes can not run smoothly with sound enhancer, if it happens, you should take the solution is please to freeze sound enhancer you have used before.
Q: Is the RA only have an effect on the music player?
A: No, the RA will provide overall audio effect, like on youtube application, browser, file manager that has audio player, ringtones and other (including voice when you call, but only a small effect to reduce noise so that the sound can be heard clearly when your phone, it also depends on your signal and your listener while also mic your speaker and your speakers)
Q: Is the RA can damage hardware audio?
A: RA helps you to optimize the audio hardware and software you. If you do the proper setting in RA, the audio device you will be more durable and optimal than not use RA, but if you are setting up the force in excess, will cause damage to your audio device.
Actually not only RA, but all applications enhancer and music players can damage your audio hardware, if you make the wrong setting volume dimaximalkan example, setting dimaximalkan without tolerance. Without the application of RA or audio enhancer memaximalkan even if you force a continual and regular basis, I can guarantee your hardware will be damaged, but it is less convenient when you hear the organ and can damage your hearing. DWYOR.
Q: How do I set RA is best?
A: For this question I answered "relative", we suggest you to try to do their own personalized settings, and the ability to tune your audio device. If you are confused you can find references on the internet how to set up the equalizer on the right and the best android.
Q: After using RA, why is music to be large or small volume suddenly?
A: Make sure you play good music and not compressed extrem, also make sure the bitrate of the song, make sure your music player and speaker capabilities of your audio device. Also make sure the RA runs and does not crash with audio enhancer you use before you install RA. Setting RA also affects the quality of the sound produced.
If it happens that you take is a solution uncheck audio compression options

Welcome to SRS Panel 2.0, a small project that I've done a little work on so far. The aim is to improve the bland UI of SRS Panel "1.4" to be newer and more polished
Note: I did not make this app, this is a themed version with some fixes. Credit is below
So far I've only done a little, but I'm aiming to make it better over time
Screenshots

Features of SRS Panel
Tweakable level of "SRS WOW" (3D surround effect)
Tweakable level of "TruBASS" (Proper bass effect, similar idea to Beats audio)
5 level equalizer, with + and - to 15dB
11 preset levels, 1 user level (1 preset is SRS extreme, for the best effect)
Compatible with any music player that uses the Android equalizer API (inc. Play Music, Now Playing Beta, Apollo etc.)
Themed features so far
The action bar is now 'solid', and a dark grey Holo colour (#202020)
The text uses "sans-serif-light" (Roboto Light) in some places
I fixed a few strings that were incorrect
Things to do:
Improve app UI
Add a logo to the actionbar instead of a title
Installation
Installation is a little complicated if done by hand. By far the easiest way is my app SRS Installer (see my signature, direct linking isn't allowed), but this is how you do it:
1.) Make sure you don't have any other audio mod installed already, they will clash. If you do, reinstall your ROM without wiping
2.) Download the SRS 1.0 zip from the attachments
3.) Reboot into recovery and mount the system (just in case)
4.) Flash the zip
5.) Reboot your device
6.) Open a root browser and mount the system once more
7.) Navigate to /system/lib/soundfx
8.) Delete (or rename to .so.bak) libbundlewrapper.so and libcyanogendsp.so (might not be there, skip if not)
9.) Navigate to /system/app
10.) Delete DSPManager.apk and MusicFX.apk (if there)
11.) If you have any equalisers installed from the Play Store, such as MusicFX, uninstall them the normal way
12.) Reboot again
You now have SRS Panel 1.4 installed
13.) Download the 2.0 apk from the attachments
14.) Install it as a normal apk
You now have SRS Panel 2.0 installed
How to use
Open a compatible music player and play a song
Press menu > equalizer
Turn on SRS Panel at the top right corner
You are done. Enjoy your music with better sound! (SRS is tweakable from that panel)
Note: WOW and TruBASS are only available on headphones or 3.5mm out
Compatible music players
- Google Play Music
- Now Playing Beta
- Apollo
Incompatible music players
- PowerAmp
- Neutron Media Player
- WinAmp

Hm, could be.
The "Now Playing" player doesn't really give any change as I hear,
The default one on my rom does give an interesting effect.
PowerAMP gives the same effect with the default player, considering i turned off the effects from the player itself.
Quite strange, but I hope this'll help.

The slider works as it should.
This is PowerAMP, I'm testing it on the three players I've mentioned. Now Playing doesn't give any effect strangely enough(using the most recent version).
EDIT: Added the equalizer pages, The headset icon resembles Now Playing, the tiny speaker Default(flat EQ).
EDIT 2: More clear screenshots showing which player is which.
Reporting this to be working on Galaxy S2 with Chameleon 3.0.1 (JB 4.1.2 XWLS8). Using default Google Music app.
Well it has to be working, since I do note a difference when the fx are switched on and off, and when I move the sliders around.
Too bad this was the last free version of SRS by Quinny899. I wonder if there's really any difference at all compared to the latest SRS Manager.

Wavelet
Headphone specific equalization
Introduction
Wavelet may be the most powerful equalizer for Android to date that doesn't require root or an unlocked bootloader. It is capable of processing audio system wide and supports optimal equalization settings for over 3300 headphones. That's way more headphones to choose from than the Sonarworks and Dirac android apps combined have to offer.
Supporting this many headphones has been made possible by Jaakko for letting me use his awesome AutoEq project.
Features
The app features a minimal UI with plenty of options for customization:
You can use AutoEq to equalize your headphones to the Harman standard. The graph visualizes the compensation applied.
There's a 9 band graphical equalizer you can use fine tune the result or set up when your headphones don't appear to be available in the database.
The effects section offers effects such as bass boost, virtualization and reverberation. There's a bass tuner option too to give your beats that little extra thump, or reduce bass if you're not a basshead.
At the bottom you can find the gain controls. There's a limiter allowing you to reduce dynamic range and a channel balance feature for when you find one channel playing too loud or if you just want to reduce the overall output volume.
Installation
Wavelet can be downloaded here from Google Play.
Features displayed vary on the mode you're using and what output device is connected.
I strongly recommend checking out the README and read up on legacy mode to help you get the best experience

First impressions - awesome work! Nice UI and my headphones were recognized. I could only get legacy mode working but the graphical EQ is nice to have if the headphone correction isn't quite tuned for your ears. I think this is going to be a popular audio mod/app...looking forward to further development. :good:
Can you explain how this app is able to apply EQ effects without having root access or being a system app? What kind of APIs are you using? Thanks!
edit: actually, would love if we could chat more about this project. Giving this a shot right now with my Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones and it seems pretty nice. Feel free to email me at [email protected]

Thank you! I put a lot of thought in the design.
Legacy/regular mode is the best solution I could come up with to cope with the finicky audio sessions design Android has implemented. If it works or not depends on the music player you use and if your device manufacturer allows processing the global audio session or not. Sometimes both modes work and in the worst case nothing might work

The app makes use of standard libraries Android provides. Most of them are available since Android 2.3, but the DynamicsProcessing library is relatively new and allows for much more customizability. It allowed me to build the equalization and gain control features.
Default mode listens for audio sessions started by music players and applies these effects to them. Legacy mode applies them system-wide (session 0), but this may not work on all devices.

Interesting, I haven't seen that in the app myself.
Bought the app for developer support, awesome job! I was waiting to see when someone would pick up the audio development.
One less reason for root.
The only thing is clipping when adding bast boost. Bass tuning helps but volume clipping still happens.
Still awesome though.
I can confirm. my device also requires unlocking to even test the effects. I have a Galaxy A20 stock phone and quite frankly, it lacks severely with the sound quality on my headphones (Sony MDR-XB50AP/R). I have been looking for an alternative to Viper4Android which has really shown the power of the earbuds, but that requires rooting the phone and a supported ROM. I can understand the monetization of an app to help support the development and do not have an issue with that, but I gave this app a hard pass for two reasons:
1) You can't try the effects mode without paying the fee.
2) The fee for me was $5.49 to take a chance on it, yes I can get a refund on an IAP through Google, but that's not what I'd really like to do.
Why not set the app up to allow people to try the effects for say 20-30 minutes to allow them to see if it works for their needs and then charge the fee if they want to continue using it ?

Thank you for the app. I've tried work fine with Spotify but not with PowerAmp (i've tried legacy mode with PowerAmp but not working) but as it a first version I hope this can solved in the future update.
So I guess I'll stick with Viper4Android from your release for now.

There is a build in closed testing with a new function that reduces clipping at cost of increased latency. If I'm satisfied I'll release it publicly.

Thanks for the input and the support. I will think of a way to cleanly implement a short trail. It's easier said than done

Thank you for the app. I've tried work fine with Spotify but not with PowerAmp (i've tried legacy mode with PowerAmp but not working) but as it a first version I hope this can solved in the future update.
So I guess I'll stick with Viper4Android from your release for now.

PowerAmp might work if you disable direct volume control in PA and enable legacy mode in Wavelet. The result differs depending on your phone. Else you may be able to get it to work using https://zackptg5.com/android.php#acp (requires root).
Current implementation is the best I can come up with. Android audio sessions are mess..
Works pretty well with my S9+ (Exynos) and Sony 1000XM3, I tried Spotify and Spotify Stations, for Stations the app doesn't realize that music is playing, can you do something for this or is it up to Spotify?
Working fine in legacy mode on my Pocophone, MIUI 11. I bought the pro version but i couldn't see the limiter option.
Could someone share some phone models for me to search in the autoeq list?
Very, very nice. Have it on my Pixel 3a and bought the pro key. Using my Sennheiser HD 120 and sounds fantastic. I like the Legacy mode as I use Google Podcasts most of the time and Wavelet doesn't detect it as a session but I believe this is correct. Could it detect GP so I could use the non Legacy features? Anyway, well done on a great app and slick UI.
I needed to use legacy mode with Poweramp on my Samsung note 10 plus. I have yet to test this on my pixel 4 XL but I think it'll be the same thing I'll need to enable legacy mode in order to run this app through Poweramp. Sadly I'm missing the limiter option and all the audio effect features like bass boost virtualizer and stuff like that I'd have to pay for I thought the application is free. Is there some kind of code being passed around? If not let me know
Also, are there plans to update the application in order to fix some of the notable errors or issues that have been mentioned, particularly with audio static? Beyond that this is an exciting application and I'm excited to see where it goes. I've been looking for a viper4android alternative that didn't need root and this seems to be the gym that potentially can match that app. Keep up the good work!

How does Wavelet sound compared to Viper?
No AutoEQ for me
