Power + Back button, select Bootloader, then select Recovery.

Hold volume up and home buttons and power up to boot to recovery.
I did not discover this, just found it buried in a thread somewhere and thought it should have higher visibility.
Awesome find. Thanks!
Great job

On another note the menu back button is not working for me in cwm. Is anyone else having this problem?

Yes, for some reason CWM is not recognizing the button mappings. It is on my TO-DO list

I hold the volume up and home key and then power till the samsung logo comes on, then release power. About 5 sec later I release volume up and home and it boots to CWR.
Hope this helps

If you scroll through the menu 3x it will enable go back. Once you select an option it will show up on the menu
Thanks OP for this info. Was able to test on a friend's Charge and it worked. Scrolling through the menu 3x also enabled the Go Back option in the menu.

Alright, I currently have a HTC Aria running CM9, I was going to purchase an HTC One X from AT&T. However, I have one question. If I root it, and the device begins to bootloop or hangs for any reason, how will I stop it? I wouldn't be able to remove the battery....
reboot to recovery by manual, n do reset.. hehe

How would you go about that? Just power button and down volume button? Sorry, on my current phone the volume is broke, so I have to do it through CWM

also you can push power button for 10 seconds or more, with a bit of luck phone will turn off.
But after that you still need volume button ...
I understand now, I didn't realize that there was a kill switch and that after holding the power button down for 10 seconds, the device turns off.
Hi guys I just got my Blaze today... I was able to root and flash CMW But I don't know how to access it... can any one please tell me the button combo to access CWM.. Thanks in advance

Power your phone down, and then power it up holding either both volume bottons or the down volume button, when you see the "Samsung" logo pop up, let go of the power button but keep holding the volume button(s), and youll go right into CWM
Download anreboot from Google Play, set the shortcut on the home screen and get into recovery the easy way.
I have gotten s-off by using a method i found on this site (can't link to it), then i rooted by using Gingerbreak. When i boot my phone (volume down and power) i choose recovery and enter recovery mode but when i choose "backup and restore" or any other thing, the menu just disappears and the only thing i can see, is the text revolutionary in big (the thing in the background). Anybody know what i can do to fix it? I want to install another ROM and overclock my phone. It is a HTC Wildfire.

You need to use the track pad to select the options (not the power button).
Hi there,
I have a HTC One S and I am wanting to unlock my bootloader and root in order to put CM10 on my phone.
I have gone through the bootloader unlock process and have succeeded right up until the point where it asks if you want to unlock the bootloader or not, it gives you two options, "Yes" or "No" and tell you to press the "Power Button" to confirm selection...
I select YES, press the power button.... Nothing. Nothing happens at all and I just have to hold down my power button to reboot.
Why is this happening?!
I read elsewhere your phone must not be a courier branded phone. I am in the UK and on the '3' Network. They gave me the phone. Is this why I can't do it?
Also, I say about putting on CM10, but wondered what is the recommended ROM? I would like to have a jelly bean ROM.
Thanks to all, in advance!

Are you selecting yes with the volume buttons or pressing it with your finger?

I make a choice with the radio buttons, using my volume keys, then press my power button on the top of the phone to confirm my selection, but nothing happens.

A good ROM that has recent updates is JellyBam. Thats what I use as my daily driver. Lots of customizations and tweaks on that ROM. Another good one that is popular is Dark Jelly. The 4.1 version of Dark Jelly is more stable, but there is a new thread posted with a 4.2 base for folks to experiment with.
