Hi Guys,
I just got my SmartWatch 2, but can't seem to find the stopwatch. Is there one?
This says there is:
http://developer.sonymobile.com/201...ch-2-announced-new-sdk-version-to-come-video/
I guess someone will make an app soon anyway, just seems ridiculous to sell a watch without that function.
Cheers,
Rich
Mine came with a timer app already installed onto it... If it's not showing it might be off in the settings menu an then apps.

Stopwatch is essential for the watch. I am wondering why it missed out but have a timer in it.
Stopwatch for SmartWatch 2
There is a new Stopwatch for SmartWatch 2 available. It needs your SmarWatch connected & synched with your Smartphone.
Check it out

I cant seem to get my stopwatch to work. No amount of pressing the green button starts it, the numbers are just greyed out. Any tips or tricks to make the thing work??

This stopwatch works as a countdown, so you at first have to set an amount of time to start decreasing from (hourglass button).

You're talking about the Countdown that cames built-in with the Smartwatch 2 firmware.
I was talking about the Stopwatch for SmartWatch 2 that is for sale on Google Play
They are 2 different apps

So, as the title says, I have the N1 resting in the dock and charging. I want to use Google Talk so I tap the home button and open Google Talk. Between the tap on the home icon and anywhere after the Nexus One will automatically return to the clock app. I can tap home again and randomly it will again return to the clock.
Is there a way to a) disable the clock (I'll miss it, but it's almost frustrating enough to never use it again) or b) disable return to the clock app? I don't see any settings to accomplish this so it's probably some power user trick. I don't think this is occurring because the N1 is losing contact with the dock while I'm tapping as it's resting pretty solid in the dock.
Any ideas?
I guess you could put a small piece of tape over the middle pin and that should prevent it from going into the Clock app but still allow it to charge.
try dock nothingness from the market, it will let you select it and when its docked it wont open anything.

Excellent recommendation. I tried a couple of the Droid dock app and they were buggy. This app is consistent. Thanks.

That's a good idea. If I run out of options and Dock Nothingness stops working I'll look into this. Thanks.

im glad people use it haha, dumb app, i know, but somepeople find it useful, I did this once I got the dock unboxed, I was getting really annoyed of things opening up automatically.

I don't think the app will stop working because it is not a hack, it's using documented and officials Sticky BroadcastReceivers for detecting the dock, opening "Dock Nothingness" instead, however, the "Dock Nothingness" app is nothing, so it closes it self right away giving the user the illusion of the phone not really opening anything
When I read the thread topic, I was like "yeah, its damn frustrating!".
velazcod: Thanks for the app to fix this nuisance.
I look forward to the next version that does even more nothing!
Updated, make sure to go into the app's preferences -> Phone and select "Nexus One / CM5" if you are on CM5.0.3+

Oh, you need the "LEDs Hack" app, you can find it in the market.
Just received my desktop dock and the clock application was driving me mad within 10 minutes of making and receiving calls etc.
Dock nothingness is great - thanks for the suggestion....................
One of the things I find irritating about the dock is when I'm playing music through the bluetooth connection it initializes automatically and I take the phone off to send a text or whatnot it unpairs its self. Can I force it to stay paired until I turn off bluetooth?

Yes, connect and pair before docking it
I do that now, but I have to dig through the wireless menu. Is there a widget or something that will connect to a predefined device with one touch?

For some reason the dock won't allow to auto-connect when in range, it does this for other devices, like headsets....
Hi all
I'm looking for an app for the SW2 that enables me to pause and play (quite often) audio books using Poweramp. Preferably I don't want to have to tap loads of times to do this!
Many thanks in advance
Here it is:

I haven't bought the watch yet! Lol. It all depends on whether it does what I want it to (I'm in and out of client's premises all day so need to 'fiddle' as least as possible )
So can you tell me how many presses/taps it takes to pause, then play a track, please?

Just tap on the screen and the music stops. Further you can manage volume and next/former song. You have the art as background if your mp3 disposes of this.
Works great

Really appreciate your response - I think my mind's made up. I want one!
Just another quickie. If I receive a Whatsapp msg can I read it on the watch screen?
Yeah. With a help of WatchIt app (notifications) you can read the WhatsApp message too.

Do you know if the rubber strap can be replaced? Or is it integral?
It's a standard 24mm strap that can be changed. Any 24mn bracelet can do.

Or rather, you should double tap the power button then you go directly to last open app that would normally be poweramp control pro.
Before I knew this procedure I was rather dissaponted with the watch (this is not mentioned in the user guide)
from the start I pressed power button - home - app, then I could control the music.
Hey everybody.
I know there are 3rd party Active Displays around, but I was wonder if anyone with the know-how would be interested in trying to change the stock Active Display on the Moto X?
I think its great apart from the useless *lock* icon right below the clock if no notifications are present.
It'd be great if this could show the battery level instead of the lock.
I know GravityBox has a cool way of displaying it on the lock screen, but that doesn't apply to Active Display of course.
I would like for the useless lock icon to just not come on when there are no notifications. I just got the phone yesterday so give me one day to just test it with the native active notification app and then I'll test it out tomorrow. I'll start with the app AcDisplay then the next day goto Dynamic notifications.

I don't think the lock is useless. It saves you from having to hit the power button. I've had physical buttons wear out on me, so this is far from useless for me.

Very true! But I wouldn't mind just pressing the lock button. Any who, I shut off Active Display half way through the day and my battery life as been no different with it off.

hi, i've had my moto-x about a month and this is one of the first things i tried to do, but i don't have much knowledge with editing apks. i was able to decompile the active display app and i found the layout for the main screen in res/layout/breathing.xml. there is actually already a battery indicator coded into the app but it only shows up when your power is low. i tried moving this to where the lock is to see what it did, but it just crashed the app.
actually what i would like to do is have the date displayed below the time and just have the lock removed unless there is a notification. i've unlocked it a bunch of times on accident while holding it in my hand.
//
by the way. the numerals for the time are actually images and not text, such as is used by beautiful widgets. so they're totally editable which is nice. the whole app is essentially a widget.

how did you decompile it? when i tried (after grabbing the apk from my titanium backup) the only layout file i got was aod_tutorial.xml - i'm looking into learning how about xposed and this is one of ideas to try.
i used apktool. the app is aon.apk in /system/priv-app

Yeah, the lock is the whole point for me. Saving hitting the lock button.
Still I would kill to have the date and battery on active notification.

It is an app that you can configure to shoot notifications of your battery percentage level. Notifications that Active Notifications picks up on. That like is outdated. I have a thread here in the Theme and App forums that is kept up to date. When I am actually at my computer and not on my tablet, I can take some screenshots of the app and upload them to my thread.
I know what the Always On Display is. This isn't that.
Is there anything that can keep a Gear S3 (and possibly Gear S2) on and awake for a period longer than 5 minutes? The AOD is nice - but I have a need to demo a few watches together and want to keep them on with the watch face showing. Was hoping maybe an app that would do it, but I haven't found much of anything... at all.
The closest I can think to do so far is find a watchface that has an option for the same face to be used for AOD - like what the Watchmaster app allows - and set that. But I'm still worried about it dimming a bit.
Ideas?
Maybe Samsung Flaunt, from the gear store. I haven't used it thow.

I just installed it and it seemed to work OK. Once it installs, you have to add the widget to be able to use it - then you just select the widget and activate it.
I'll try again, but when I tried tapping "open" (after the app installed) nothing happened, I did check to see if there was an app on the watch, but there wasn't ???

You're not going to see an app on the watch. You just need to add the widget. Rotate your bezel (or swipe) all the way to the right to add a widget. Then somewhere in that list of widgets, you'll see it. Once you add it, just go to that widget and click Start.

Ya, right there with you. Though for my purpose, the 30 minute thing might work well enough. And then just activate it again before the next demo.
I am alive works well for me, I set the screen brightness to 3 and it doesn't hurt the battery much more than the always on display

Any idea if there are burn in issues? I know it does some pixel moving in AOD, but don't think it does that if the watch is active.
Just go to settings the select Device the turn off (Wake -up Gesture), and the face will turn on forever

If you swipe down from the watch face (eg from the 12:00 down to the 6:00 position) you get a new screen with the battery level at the top, as well as a number of other watch status/setting quick buttons (airplane mode, etc).
