It appears no one has tested this yet as I just have and you just get a black lockscreen.
I will look into this tonight and try and fix it.

Wow blank lockscreen meaning NO TEXT OR WIDGET AND NO CLOCK ON IT?
if thats the case let me know I will download this mod ASAP
---------- Post added at 07:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:09 PM ----------
Do you need to have de-odex rom for this??
I copied the file and changed the permissions and then hit reboot, but nothing changed..
Now deleted the odex part of this file from the folder and reboot..now i get a black screen with clock widget and screen lock icon which is vanilla rom style ... I have attached the screen shot below..
Also after doing this change, I do not get the lockscreen wallpaper option under personalization anymore...

Yes, I am working on this.
If you delete the odex file then it reverts to aosp lockscreen just like deleting the lockscreen apk.
The problem I have now is that the default image is a .jpg which does not support transparency.
I have fully decompiled the apk and am going through all the xml files to find where I can enable .png support.
I though I had found it in a hex colour string for the background colour and changed the first 2 numbers to 100%
i.e. 00000000 to FF000000 which should be 100% transparent but it do not work.
More work to do I think.
As some have asked, I can mod this to make more blinds on the lockscreen and and also to make the "twist" in the blinds a bit more pronounced. I can also hide the clock, camer and music icons for those that want it.
I am locking this thread until I sort out the issues.
If you can help me please pm me

Once, again, I am on a transparent widget kick. Here is the google search bar widget in a transparent theme.
Changelog: I have also themed a Black Google Search Widget with the browser symbol from Gingerbread. Download and pic below.
This is a system app, so you'll have to be rooted and have access to the system/app drawer via a file manager of your choice. I recommend removing the existing Google Search widget off your homescreen if you have one before replacing the .apk. I also recommend copying the stock, existing GoogleSearchBar.apk from your system/app drawer and keeping it on your sdcard in case something goes wrong, or you want the stock search bar back. After replacing the existing .apk with the themed one reboot your device and re-check your widget list.
as always, since this requires modifying your system/app drawer, I take no responsibility for you gorking your phone. If you don't know what your doing, take some time to ask, or read.
I also take no credit for the development of this .apk. All Credit goes to Google Development.

Sorry i dun think ur update.zip for transparent google search widget is working, i flashed using cwm, my original one is still there.
According to ClockworkmodRecovery, it won't accept the zip because it used a deprecated udate script. Simply installing the apk doesn't seem to work either.
has anyone been able to successfully install these? awesome widgets but the .apk file will not install and trying to install the zip via CWM tells me its not compatible with cwm 3.0.
easily got it to install. Reboot after uninstalling original and install just as any other apk via root explorer, however it was not transparent. Original white
Thanks, works perfectly. Simply backup stock google search apk (if you'd like) and remove it, unzip and place the apk you wish to install on usb storage, install and add widget to your home screen. At least that's what I did and have had no issues with it...
it didn't turn it black or transparent still the same stock white
Doesn't work for me either, just says "Application Not Installed."
you take requests? I am looking for one that I saw the widget was solid black with google and the microphone in ics blue ???

I've modified The SystemUI.apk with Custom Status Bar Wallpaper support of tomixdev OFFICIAL THREAD
This should work on every Rom based on ivendor cm9 but i only tested on Ultragen Rom..
IF YOU GOT COLOUR SUGGESTION'S LET ME KNOW AND I DO THEM!!
if you like this please hit the Thanks button!!
Instructions:
- Dowload .zip
- Open .zip with WinRAR (or similar program)
- Navigate to /system/app/
- Open SystemUI.apk with WinRAR
- Navigate to /res/drawable-hdpi/
- put in any PNG named custom_bg.png and replace the existing one
- WinRar will ask if u want to update the file in the archive, click yes
- just close all windows and put your modified .zip to your sdcard and flash it
NOTE: The PNG you use will be automatically streched to fill out the full statusbar background.
so try to resize it to 480x800 pixels if you want to prevent a strange streched picture.

Very Nice! I think the normal blue one would do it for those who just want to change the background. I wanted to post mine, how can I take a screenshot of it? If I keep pressing power it will close my statusbar... Also icons are a little different from yours (but maybe it's normal)
I flashed with twrp on hypnos' biohazard
Looks great! Thanks for the effort :good:

I do not find the option to put shortcuts on the lock screen
Settings - Locksreen - settings (the 2nd button) - shortcuts -> you can not only turn it on or off but also tap on the "shortcuts" and place that three shortcuts on the locksreen..if it is not in your options, than i don´t know.

Well lot of people well looking forward towards the transparent navibar , so i made it by patching the files myself ! This is tested and works 100%!
Things you need:
1.Rooted phone
2.Deodexed phone
For deodexing try this following link:
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2401199
3.Any root browser , I prefer root-explorer
4.Download the zip from the attachment.

How to do it
Step 1: Copy the systemui.apk to the "/system" , then change the permissions to "rw-rw-rw" and then copy to "/system/app"
Step 2: Copy the "android.policy" to '/system/framework/" and change permissions to "rw-rw-rw"
Step 3: Restart your phone and wait for sometime , it may take long time to load
Step 4: Enjoy
If you want smaller navibar , you can use my previous mod :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44797304#post44797304
If you are using clean and tweaked rom then you can download the package named it
For clean and tweaked there is no need to copy the androidpolicy.jar , only copy systemUI

Why this doesn't work for me? I replaced both files and set permissions as requested in first post.I'm on 2.17(c2105),i deodexed it,have root...The only thing that chaged is the battery icon and i think some graphics in notification area(when you pull down the bar)..but navigationbar is still black. Also I rebooted couple of times, waited more than 30 minutes, but no luck.I used root explorer to move the files. Will put back original files and try again...who knows
edit:did it again and it's not working.it's the same as above.i checked the permissions, everything.please give me an advice to make this work.thanks!
He puted wrong files. I have made it my self but not sure if it's working (haven't tested yet). If you won't to test it PM me.

Hello guys, just a quick question.
Do you know if the LTE icon in our SystemUI is located as a PNG or is it generated 'at-the-moment'?
Because I've been looking for the .... icon in this Customized CE1 SystemUI.apk and I can't find it. I just want to replace it by a 4G icon (or 4G LTE as VZW for example).
Thanks.

Everything is possible, you only need to find the way. Unfortunately until we have deodexed SystemUI i can't say. You can try to add amdroid:visibility=invisible but it may not work if it's in smali.
