[Q] [ROM] M.O.A.R. v6.0 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I have a VZW Samsung GS3. I have MOAR v5.0 w/Morphology installed on my phone. I saw that a newer version has just been released (V6.0). I can't find anywhere any restrictions as to what carrier the version is applied to. Basically, I saw in the forum heading relating to Sprint (why I was directed there, I don't know). Can I use the v6.0 on my verizon GS3?? Thanks for your help.

As of now (October 19, 2011) there is no AT&T Gingerbread for the Captivate. The latest official OS is Froyo/2.2. The FAQ from Samsung explains how to install it. Those instructions are of course only relevant if you're coming from a stock Eclair/2.1 Captivate. If you have one of the developer ROMs on your phone, then the one-click thread in the development forum is going to be your best bet in finding a way to return to stock.
Check out the [Stock ROMs (All OneClicks at one place)] + [Kernels (Stock & w/ CWM)] + [Modems] thread in the Development forum. I think the one that you are looking for is the Froyo one (I897UCKB2) which was the one that you had to use Kies to get installed on the device or came with the later Captivates.

The kies update installed kb1. Later refurbs and new units were shipped with kb2.
Epic 4g just got sources... so maybe not much longer. I hope.
My wife has the epic and it runs so good on froyo... I'd hate to screw with it.

Update to Jelly Bean if Rooted?

Hi all, I have the Verizon GS3 (SCH-I535). When I first got it, I flashed it using this guide - I apparently installed a rom by invisiblek that stripped out a lot of the applications. Well, since I'm a first time smartphone user, I asked in that thread that since my G3 was now rooted if I should accept OTA updates in the future, to which one person told me no. Last night I got a notification that my phone wanted to update to Jelly Bean, so now I'm not sure what to do. I don't accept the update because it will brick my phone, right? And if that's the case, where do I download a rooted version of Jelly Bean for it? (I searched this forum but couldn't really find anything other than people's custom versions, like Slimbean). I'm really confused with all the different rom versions available for the different carriers and models, though I suspect I can only use one for Verizon. Side question too - "rooted" is a modified version of an official OS release, right? It's not a method of installing an OS, it's an actual modified version, right? And if I want Jelly Bean, I have to continue using these modified versions, right?

Jellybean has not been officially released in any capacity to the Verizon GSIII. The update you see is roughly 30mb at the most, it's an incremental update at best from when you purchased the phone. No, it will not brick your phone. If you have a custom recovery then the update will fail. If you do not have a custom recovery then the update will unroot and unlock the bootloader and install successfully. We're months away from a Verizon update to Jellybean.

Download custom roms from the development section. Only flash roms for the Verizon GSIII aka d2vzw. These custom roms are people's different versions of the software available for our phone either officially or in jellybean's case unofficially.

"Rooted" just means the user (you) have the ability to make changes to the system or root of the device that are not possible for stock non-rooted users. Just rooting your device means you gained administrator access to the system but nothing is changed until you install roms or other mods.
There is a truly great post in the development section by DroidStyle that details EVERYTHING you need to ask as a beginner. Here:

Ah, I see, I thought it was JB since there were reports of people in some countries getting the JB update today. Coincidental timing!
Anyways, I went through with the update but it failed.

Ah I see, so if I were to download something that's JB, it's just someone's "fan" version of it? And the JB version that leaked to the international phones today won't work on our Verizon ones?
Thank you for your help!

My pleasure, no worries! I have to much respect for any dev who undertakes developing or porting roms to call it a fan version. It's best to refer to it as "customized" which is what they are: custom versions of what may or may not be available.
Nah, unless there is a leak for the Verizon Jellybean update consider any news you hear/see about GSIII updates as completely useless unless Verizon is mentioned. The international version has completely different hardware inside the phone so any roms meant for that device will not work in the USA GSIII. You also can't actively flash another carrier's roms for this phone, it's not suggested and has the potential to render your device unresponsive.

[Q] DaRTHSTALKER S3 EDITION

Are there any plans for Pdroid support for this ROM (DaRTHSTALKER S3 EDITION Verizon), or is it already threre?
Why not ask in the roms thread where the dev is more likely to read it?

Dev support

first, may i say a HUGE THANKYOU to all the devs who have stuck by this phone, and those who have moved onto other devices that still support this one. but what are the moderators thinking!!?!? the maker of SOLID ROM (and a main part in the community) 'Tribulattifather' was banned for forgetting to remove a tiny thing from his rom and was banned instantly without chance to reason. i moved from the DESIRE HD to ONE S then to ONE MINI, and the support was awesome on those phones, but this one is quickly depleting, with no help to the moderators.
sorry for the rant but i can't be the only one thinking this,,, am i?

HTC is lacking on the support for the mini also. The latest kernel source is the 4.2.2 and the at&t version is still 4.2.2. It's currently updating to 4.4.2 or 4.4 for the at&t version. I wish there were roms that are based on the at&t version because I can't seem to get paid apps working on the google play unless it's the at&t version.

[Q] lollipop on unlocked at&t note edge (sm-n915a)

I have a question I have searched and found no answer to.
Can I install any lollipop version or any Samsung official lollipop version on a unlocked att note edge? If so where would I find the file and instructions on installing lollipop on a unlocked sm-n915a?

Imo it'd be best to wait for Samsung and AT&T to release the official lollipop update for your specific device. Unless a developer builds a custom lollipop rom for the AT&T model.
Flashing another rom from another device/carrier can easily lead to a very very expensive paper weight.

I would also suggest waiting but if you are VERY comfortable with ADB and ODIN, on the older Samsung models, you USED to be able to flash T-Mobile ROMs on the AT&T variants, but this was on my Note II...

How did you get the bootloader unlocked? SIM unlock won't let you install a custom ROM, only having the bootloader will, and so far as I have read, I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I have a question on the same lines. If we insert ATnT sim temporarily in unlocked ATnT Note Edge (currently using with TMO), will it perform Android Lollipop update OTA?
