[q] [help] how to deodex a stock .ftf [xperia e] - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

Hi!
I would like to know how you could deodex a stock ftf and repack it as an ftf, as many users still have a locked bootloader so they can't flash zips?
There are tutorials like this, but they involve flashing the deodexed zip via a recovery, I am looking to how to pack it into a ftf or system.sin I could use?
Thanks!

You could try this guide I found, I'm not sure how well it will work though.

Not working tried it!

It is not possible...
You will have to extract system from the ftf and then deodex it...and you can't repack into ftf

[Root] [CWM] Xperia J

Root and CWM for Xperia J Finally!
Thanks to srl3gx and Bin4ry for their awsome work!
and ME for taking risk!
Make sure u are in 11.0.A.3.28 or 11.0.A.3.18 firmware ALONE with Locked Bootloader..
This method Dosent Work on 11.0.A.7.5 Firmware! (working on it! )
for .28 firmware download from here and flash it
if u dont have a flash tool download it from here for windows and install drivers located in C:\Flashtool\drivers (choose all drivers)
since flash tool does not have xperia j drivers..u may hav flashing problem...for that
1.download and extract d ST26.zip ive uploaded
2.open flash tool
3.click devices>import
4.navigate to d file u've extracted
5.now xperia j driver is installed
u can now flash without problems
Now back to rooting...
Root first! thn apply CWM!
Steps for Rooting:
1.extract Root_J.zip
2.make sure 'usb debugging' is enabled in devolpment settings
3.double click Runme.bat file for windows users...runme.sh for linux users
4.wait for process to finish (mostly should work)
Steps for CWM:
1.extract CWM_J.zip
2.'usb debugging' on
3.double click 'install.bat' only for windows (linux not working! my bad..)
4.wait for it.....installed! close the shell program and switch off the phone..
Plug in charger or USB....the phone switches on....press up and down volume keys repeatedly when SONY logo flashes.....voila u get into CWM!
You need plugged in charger or USB to goto CWM! Else CWM wont Work!!
reboot to system and see if supersu is installed finish! ur phone is rooted and cwm is installed !!
CWM has little bugs ..but its a never mind stuff..
use arrow keys to navigate..power button to select and 'go back' option in cwm itself to go to previous options.
Comment if it worked for you...let others know!
Tested on my xperia J and Miro
Dont restore factory setting or else CWM will vanish...n u hav to reflash whole firmware again
for questions and problems ask srl3gx
HOPE I HELPED...hit thanks
Sorry for the last update! It Dindn't Work for many devices!
wow finally it arrived.
Anyone tried this already?

Followed your instructions on my Experia J. I have build 11.0.A.3.18 (UK on orange/EE). I decided against flashing to 3.28 and to try with 3.18, but to get the Flashtool working I did the following:
Once the ST26.zip file is extracted (using Winrar) I then have to open this extracted file again in WinRar to get the files that should live at C:\Flashtool\devices\ST26 (loader.sin etc.). I then had to copy the original file ST26.ftd to c:\Flashtool\devices. I enabled USB debugging in the Developer settings on the phone and Flashtool started working properly.
I was able to root and CWM the device as per your instructions on buiild 11.0.A.3.18. Cheers.
The major problem with this CWM method is that it's designed for the Tipo, so when you try to flash a zip made for jlo, it fails. I had to remove the assert from the top of the scrip to flash with this.
Thanks for trying on .18 firmware... I'll update d thread

Have you tried flashing a compiled ROM? It fails as the CWM thinks it's on a Tipo device.
Plus if you wipe your system partition, you lose CWM, it's not a good solution. I've posted a CWM as a boot.img in my CM10 thread

OK, plus this will work for people who cannot unlock their bootloader. But perhaps you should put a warning as some people may want to wipe their system partition before they restore a backup (which will work) but if they for what ever reason try to reboot the phone they will be lost and will have to restore via flashtool!
thanks for report...updatd
very good work thx!
It's recovery from Tipo thus works like work: (

I've updated my xperia j to firmware 11.0.A.7.5 and now i can't root it with this method...
Any help?
Yea im the same 11.0.A.7.5 cant you flash the phone with older firmware?
Okay i flashed that firmware from first page and now my phone is rooted thanks alot
If we can get ftf file of 11.0.A.7.5 firmware and flash it with Flashtool without wiping data (just wiping cache) maybe we don't loose root... but where can we found that ftf file???

[Q] Please Help :P

i want my xperia j to downgrade to 11.0.A.3.18 or 11.0.A.3.16 cuz my firmware is 11.0.A.7.5 and I'm facing problem with home screen "it's so slow not that smooth enough " i heard that the problem might be from the firmware version so if it's not so please another solution ... and i want a safe way of working ... also i want a way for backup my entire my current firmware so i can go back to it when any problem has happened
thnx a ton already
1.search and download ur desired firmware .ftf file.
2. root ur fone.
3.install cwm recovery
4.enter recovery and make backup.
5.flash the .ftf u downloaded earlier via flashtool.
these are the basic steps! if you dont get any step, use the "search" feature!
All the Best!!

Just flash boot.img that came with a ROM zip.
Extract it and take boot.img to firmware file. (use Flashtool for Xperia)
Make sure you use fastboot to flash the kernel.

Flash Kernel without bootloader + fastboot

Guys, my bootloader allowed is :NO, so i cant use fastboot to flash insecure kernel.
can i flash INSECURE kernel by another way ? please, help me.

You can't , there is not another way to unlock the bootloader.

As far as I know, the problem is not really the flashing of an insecure kernel by another way, the problem is that you need to unlock the bootloader to install an insecure kernel.
Hope it helps!
I'm thinking of trying to insert a cm kernel into the Sony ftf file and flash it with flashtool... Only problem I have no idea how to convert .elf files into .sin

Don't do this. Locked Bootloader verify actual installed kernel. If something is wrong with him, it just won't allow your phone to start.. as I know xd

[Q] Facebook inside Xperia for tipo in cm10

If you are rooted, you can make a backup of the apps you like to have in custom rom using Titanium backup. Then you can install the apks (extract them titanium backup files) in your custom Rom. However, remember that this will not work unless the custom ROM supports it or the apks are standalone!
Good Luck!
if you want facebook inside xperia on cm10, then flash z fusion rom.
if I want to go back to stock

one more question if I want to go back to stock android what I have to do I have original firmware files (.ftf) and boot.img in which order should I flash these files
you can flash ftf file directly via flashtool. usually ftf file already includes the stock kernel(boot.img).
but just to make sure you can first flash boot.img in fastboot mode and then ftf file in flashmode.
Happy flashing.
OK Thanks

XPERIA J ST26i --> Defect // Looking for ROM / FTF Download w/o MALEWARE

Hi at all.
I'm looking for any STOCK ROM or Custom ROm for my chrashed XPERIA J ST26i.
Most linked servers at XDA threads contains malware (ace archives wich holds some *exe files) or ZIP files which will deny from chrome browser during download.
Short history / describtion of my problem.
original ROM: 11.2.0.a.31
wanted CM11
unloocked the bootloader
installed flashtool on PC
was able to flash CWm recovery
CWM recovery booted
Flashed CM11
recognised buggy camera and not working SIM card
wanted to flash back a stable ROM with camera and SIM
Download some infected zip's and exe
MISTAKE: flashed via CWM eXperia ROm which was only created for XPERIA E
Nothing working
With Flashtools and a 11.2.0.a.31 FTF file I was able in fastboot mode to flash it
Now: I can see a SONY start screen- but than it hangs up
This for now.
I'm thankfull for any help and for any FTF or ZIP wihch I can try.
Proably I can get the CWM working again, but yesterday I was'nt able to do that.
Then any CM10 JB Rom with camera root and SIM card will be nice.
Thank you
You can download ftf from XperiFirm in Flashtool. It's straight from Sony server so it's clean. Than flash it with Flashtool.
Good Luck!

Thank you- it works again- at least with the stock firmware
While I had XJ, stock was most stable i good battery. You just need to clean it little bit, uninstal apps that you don't use and clean cache from time to time
All the Best!
