Anybody planning on selling their S4's for iphone 5S - Galaxy S 4 General

There seems to be a few people on other forums i visit that are selling their S4's for an iphone 5S, maybe because of KNOX or they just bored with android or something & the size of it.
I've had a hold of the iphone 5S, and while i do think it's a good little device, i don't think i would be tempted to part with the S4 for it.
I mean £629 for an iPhone 5S 32gb, you can get a Note 3 for less, but each to their own.
So how many on here are planning of getting shut of their S4's for an iphone 5S.

i m definitely not getting an iphone 5s as imho it doesn t bring major changes from the iphone 5 but i actually love the ios 7 so i will keep an eye on the iphone 6. for now i m more excited about the nexus 5 .

I'd only sell my S4 for a Nexus 5. Not even sure if i'll do that

for an i5S??... NO WAY!!
i'll buy a Xiaomi Mi3, and will give my S4 to my mom.
and she will give me back my i5 and maybe i sell it.

For i5s? No fkn way!! But for note 3 yeeees!!

i don't want to waste my money to buy iphone 5s..i'm rather buy Xiaomi phone or Note 3 if i sell my S4..
if i buy iphone 5s/c it just for basic phone only.

Lol no way to a ip5s bit nexus 5 I will probably jump ship to mainly because of the vanilla android experience. Sick of the bloat now with samsung and now its becoming a pain to root. If I wanted their ****e app store and tripadvisor id install it myself. My device so I should choose wots on it

Buying a newer Android device makes sense to me ... replacing it with Iphone doesn't except if someone never used an iOS device and want to give it a try or he did the same for Androd and didn't like it .. or just to show off with latest popular device ...

I'd be surprised to hear many people jump ship on this forum... just way too many restrictions and disadvantages imo using an apple device.

Help me decide my next Android purchase

Now... I've been wanting a Nexus 7 ever since it was announced, but only now that I can afford one.
But now I see I've got a chance to buy a 16gb Nexus 4.
I was planning on continuing to use my Nexus S as it totally rocks running CM10.1 and using the Nexus 7 for browsing the web around the house and playing games.
If I would buy the Nexus 4 I would obviously not afford the Nexus 7 for a while. But the Nexus 4 is such a sexy piece of hardware and it has a much better camera than the Nexus S and I've got a baby on the way and I would love to be able to take good pictures and HD videos of my little ones.

I vote for Nexus 4 as well.
Wow... no love for the larger screen of the Nexus 7?
Granted, I use my Nexus S for reading, checking facebook, Pulse News, Flipboard etc. I often wish for a larger screen, but I might just be fine with 4,7 inches.

But honestly if i got the money i'll save it 'til Nexus 5 arrives, or until nexus s completely loses support from all devs
Nexus s+7 too many reported issues for the n4. I'd actually choose gn or gn2 over n4. Reports issues: fragile, overheating, and cracking around speaker.

Ouch! That's just about the same here in Manila. Woe for us non-Play Store countries.
Nexus 4 FTW!!!. People have been complaining about the Nexus 7 lagging on games. (Not sure about that. My friend bought one from Hong Kong and said it lags sometimes) The glass on the N7 is also really fragile IMO. Good thing you can get it at a Google Play rate, in Singapore, it is about $USD465.

Wow, that's a serious ripp-off for N4 in Iceland. I would not buy it for that kind of money.
In Croatia, N7 32GB is around 365$, that is also kinda high for our standard, but yet it's more affordable than Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" and Apple iPad Mini. N4 is unavailable and probably won't hit the stores until late spring.
No hardware in Croatian Play Store in either...

Hy there, for the past 5 months i have been using a combination of nexus s as a phone for when i am out and a nexus 7 for where i am at home. And i must say that this combimation really works. When i am out i don't necessarily need the greatest performance for gaming and simmilar but i appreciate the form factor of my nexus s. But when i am at home i have my nexus 7 for gaming and multimedia. I must say that the performance of nexus 7 on the latest games is very good with an appropriate rom and kernel. If you still like your phone like i do, then i would recommend going with two device combo(weak phone+tablet) rather than one extra powerful phone. And on the battery side of things as i primarily use my tablet at home and i have my phone in a dock whenever i go out, my phone battery is always charged as opposed if i had just the phone and would be using it at home

If you didn't have a tablet before, go for the Nexus 4.
If you did have a tablet before, go for the Nexus 4.
If you get tortured by your neighbor, go for the Nexus 4.
If you like sitting on the toilet for 2.4820 hours, go for the Nexus 4.
If you do(n't) sound familiar with the above lines, go for the Nexus 4.
I'm actually swaying toward the NS+N7 combo.
I'm seeing a lot of threads about issues with the N4. I'm not the type who has to have the newest gadgets so I think I might just wait until most of the issues with it have been resolved and then it might have reduced in price a bit here in Iceland.

I'm upgrading next month

Its been 2 years since I had my nexus. It was a great device and didnt really feel dated to me until this year. I already have my iPhone 5, so I guessim going to use this upgrade for a galaxy note 2. But my question is, what do you think would be the best successor to this device? I'm not sure if I'll even hack at this point anymore because my house now has WiFi and using my cell as a hotspot was main point.

Got nexus4, note 2 , galaxy tab 2 7.0, 10.0 and note 10.1, tf300t , nexus 7 and GS 2.
I say go with note 2, small enough to fit into or pocket, not bulky to play games on it, closer to handheld console than large tabs, not too small. I love the spen.
Bottom line. If I could take only one device. Note 2 would let do all that I would wanna do in both phones and tablets.

Iphone fails 5s

Been following the new iphone 5s/c press conference and actually was waiting for something great.. but the innovations seems to have dissapeared with steve jobs.. in my opinion.. sad to see they seem to stay with the 4 inch screens at apple, a 4.7 inch iphone and i would have got one the day they released it.. if they'll continue to stay with the "old and reliable" concept they will soon be upon a new nokiagate. . More than one reason to not like the Iphone believe me. Although for some looking for a simple easy to use interface that does require them to think then its great. I too was expecting more since if they came out with something big it would only entice and push the android developers to go even bigger. Sadly the phone is still small still boring but now boring and small with colors...

Free fingerprint-database with linkage to name, phone numbers, photos and GPS data for the public to access, what's not to like?
(Yes i'm referring to the security vulnerabilities in apple products which is a fact causing concerns not only for private people but for large companies as well)
I think they cannot use bigger screen because it means they need bigger resolution to keep the retina display trademark. Bigger resolution makes problem for apps. Iphone apps cannot automatically adapt to different screen resolution like android.
This I think is the flaw of ios.

Worth trading a Note 3 for a n5?

There's a guy on Craigslist looking to trade his nexus 5 off. Do you guys think it'd be a good trade?
Sent from my SM-G900A using XDA Free mobile app
Not really. Note3 has a higher value than the Nexus 5. Best to sell your note 3 and buy the nexus 5 probably even get a brand new piece.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
have to agree, while the n5 is a better phone, the note 3 sells for more money
From what I've seen on Craigslist in my area (Washington, DC) the Note 3 goes for around $300-$320. The Nexus 5 32gb goes for around $250-$300.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You'll miss the screen real estate .... Note 3 is a better phone unless you want the latest OS. Better battery, larger sceen, better camera, expandable storage..etc
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
You're all wrong look at Swappa and locally on Craigslist, as much as I would like the Note 3 to sell more that's not the case. I sold my note 3 for $425, although some might be selling for $475+ people aren't buying them. I found a new sealed Nexus 5 for $380 on eBay who has overstock on them and in desperate need to sell and with tempered glass protector and case I spend another $20, so I pocketed $25 big deal. But ya no way Note 3 is selling for more right now. Oh and with bootloader locked like in my case I'm on AT&T (SCREW you AT&T) I rather have my Nexus 5 any day regardless of screen size. I'm just wish OnePlus One hurry's the heck up and sells the darn phone ASAP.

You could always ask if he is interested in buying your Note 3 + cash. I don't know the prices in US, but in Europe it +/- 100 euro differences between the two. Don't know the state of your phone and the accessories.

This review favors the Note, but man it doesn't even begin to outline the difference in capabilities. This thing is a productivity pro! The split screen stuff, 8 cores, massive RAM, scrolling screen shots, 2000+ pressure sensitivities, note-taking from screen nearly off, etc... Just amazing.
I own the Note 5 and will be owning the 6S Plus since they both have Nano Sims and easy sim swapping for the monthly bill of one phone

I want root too...but pure Android? Hell no. Pure Android is like Vanilla ice cream without all the nice toppings and flavoring drizzled on top. The first thing I usually do when I root a new Android phone is to install a custom ROM with unique or interesting features or customization options. I'm more of a power user, so the minimalistic approach seems insanely boring to me, especially if it's on a phone with high specs like this one, which could be able to handle some additional workload/features.
thanks for the replies, ill be keeping my note 5 as well. Maybe purchase the 6s as a second phone to play with in time!
What's the point of a second phone? What can the 6s do that you'd be unable to do with this phone?

I had the 6 plus for about 2 months and like my Note 5 way more. I can't imagine the 6s plus is much of an improvement. Definitely not enough to go back to iOS.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0b-FcR5KD8 cracked open apple iphone 6s
I have both phone (for work) and I can say the Note 5 is more for power user...those that want to customized their home screen, tweak settings. The iphone 6s plus is just as good though... I'm not going to knock it. It has a good camera...I use it for social media app and tons of games.
Like others my wife has an iphone 6s plus. I had the choice to switch to the 6s plus also but decided to stay with the Note 5. The S-pen is a big draw for me. I find I use the S-pen more than my finger. It gives me a lot more control then my finger does especially when using calendar applications such as Pocket Informant
I also find that the note 5 is extremely fast and shows no sign of any sort of lag. Keep in mind I am using package disabler Pro to turn off software or bloatware that I don't need.
Just the fact that I have the option to disable bloatware or programs that I don't use or want is a reason for me to stay with the Note 5 over the iPhone 6 plus.
The only disappointment I have with the note 5 is the aggressive memory management. I have no idea if Samsung plans to fix this or not. I really hate how the bootloader is locked down on this Verizon version and therefore I can't make a simple change that would fix the problem. If the bootloader was unlocked on the Verizon note 5 it would be hands down the best Android device I have ever used.
