I think you can boot your phone in download-mode and flash recovery with odin. Maybe try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1151704
Then boot the recovery and use it as mass storage.
I think gingerbread CF-Root won´t work on froyo, but i don´t know it seriously.

you can flash cfroot form donwload mode and boot to recovery, but your will not booting into the android.
boot to recovery, and use adb shell to copy out your sdcard data

[q] help me please

Im in dire need of help, i rooted my nexus s and i got stuck at the boot logo. Then tried to go into clockwork, but my sd wont mount properly
I feel like crying
In windows explorer, there are 2 usb devcies that are greyed out and say please insert a disk into drive
I just want stock 2.3.3,
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, im shaking here, only had it a day
im trying the odin files?
Is this the right thing to do?
I wouldn't try Odin just yet I would put the sdcard into a micro SD adapter and move the file to another sdcard the try booting into recovery mode. Have you downloaded the recovery and tried to get into recovery mode the normal way? And if you did get into recovery can you still get into there and just put a rom on the root of the sdcard and wipe data, cache, delvki and the flash the rom and see if that works just a few ideas before you break it completely lol

Sdcard? The nexus s doesn't have one. Odin works but it isn't popular.
I'd go with clockwork recovery. Is your phone bootloader unlocked? Clockwork recovery fully flashed?

[Q] how to remove ClockworkMod Recovery from nexus s ?

I unlocked and rooter my nexus s and after than I am enable to reboot it "normally" ... Each time I reboot it, I get ClockWorkMod.
How can I uninstall/remove ClockWorkMod from my Nexus s or prevent it from loading when I reboot it?
Thanks
Try downloading a ROM and transferring it to the phone. In Clockwork recovery you can go to "mounts and storage" and then mount usb so you can connect to your computer. Copy the ROM over to the root of your internal /sdcard and flash it, unmount usb, then flash/install the ROM in the main recovery menu.
Yes, flashing a stock Rom may do the trick.

Is it possible to restore the original ROM? if so, where can I download one?
It is the first sticky thread at the top of this forum.

Maybe I'm missing something, but unless he installed a custom rom, wouldn't flashing a new rom be like replacing the engine to try to fix a dead battery? If it's booting recovery when it should be booting system, could that be a problem with the bootloader or mount points (or could recovery have overwritten the system partition)?
Flame me if you want to. I'm just asking.
I interpreted his problem as CWM was staying as recovery when he was expecting stock recovery to return after reboot. I thought he wants stock recovery.

Double post.
I thought he couldn't boot any ROM and was stuck booting into recovery every time.

Yes it's the case: every time I reboot, CWM is loading ... and no ROM to load.
I finaly downloaded a ROM from (a14a2dd09749.signed-soju-GRJ22-from-GRI40.a14a2dd0.zip ... because I'm new to this forum, I am not authorized to post links) and with the help of a few commands I got back android 2.3.4.
To summarize what I have done:
- download a14a2dd09749.signed-soju-GRJ22-from-GRI40.a14a2dd0.zip
- put it in the tools frolder of android SDK
- rename it update.zip
- send it to the device: adb push update.zip /sdcard/update.zip
- in CWM select: Install ZIP from sdcard
- then select: Choose ZIP from sdcard ... it then installed the ROM
- reboot
So now, I have my (new) android ROM loading back.
I think at the beginning, I have done something wrong when install CWM ... I think I installed it not as recovery boot but as normal boot.
Is there any complete guide to avoid such error?
Thanks

I suppose <fastboot flash system cwm_recovery.img> would do that. If that command is in a guide somewhere, I'm getting my flamethrower out.

[Q] Formated /boot and phone dont inicialize

Edit:
Hello everybody!
I formatted / boot through the Clockwordmod and now the phone does not boot the android, always turns on Clockword.
I tried to use fastboot to install a new boot, but does not work, is always "waiting for device".
What should I do? Is there any way to install a new boot using the Recovery?
Please! I'm desperate!
By /boot do you mean the bootloader? To me you seem to have removed the OS from your phone so you may have killed it.
Unless you have a bootloader I'm which case your fine.

I formated /boot. I can enter on Clockword normaly, but just it. I remove the OS, I think.
I had lost my phone??
If I use fastboot with one bootloader img, can I solve this problem?
So, I cant use fastboot. My PC doenst recognize my phone!
Anybody help?
Please, i´m very sad about it!
u might need Odin then to flash your original firmware. Make sure you download the right version for your phone.

Boot into recovery go into backup and restore from a backup you made earlier. You can also just restore boot using the advanced backup restore.
If you don't have any backups and clearly you have a custom recovery installed, what can I say... serves you right.
Boot is the kernel.
Mount USB storage in clockworkmod recovery. Put a kernel on the phone and flash it.
Or flash a rom
Or restore a backup off the boot as mentioned .

[Q] How do I install stock recovery on my SBKv2 TF101?

Hello,
I flashed CWM on my tablet but it is encrypted. I need to decrypt it to be able to flash new ROMs. The problem is that I cant wipe it with CWM because of the encryption .
Where can I find the stock recovery for my WW B80 TF101 with stock ICS ?
I did find a US recovery for Honeycomb on the Unlockr, but I'm not sure if that would work.
I can't use NVFlash since it's SBKv2 either .
I'd appreciate any help I can get on this. Thanks for a great forum, I've had a lot of help here before with my old Windows Phones .

What version of CWM recovery do you have and how did you flash it?
The stock recovery from the unlocker.com need to be flash via CWM, since you say you can't use your CWM that's useless.
Have you tried installing a different CWM recovery?
Here you can find Roach's 3.2.0.1 and Team Rouge CWM recovery.
(both are install via RecoveryInstaller)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22359727&postcount=218
What do you mean by "encrypted"?
What are the errors you see when you try to wipe data on this device?
What is the CWM version you are using?
Perhaps someone will correct me, but a properly installed recovery does not care about data encryption to be able to format the partition (i.e. wipe). Stock recovery will not help in this. It will simply remove all the useful commands and interfaces and show a nice picture of a dead droid.
I can flash things trough CWM but CWM cant see the sdcard since its encrypted trough honeycomb/ics builtin encryption setting. If I find the right recovery I would be able to flash it . If I try to factory reset from settings it does absolutely nothing since it tries to boot into stock recovery . Factory reset from cwm does nothing since cwm cant touch the encrypted sdcard .
I've read that no CWM can touch the encrypted partition since it doesnt have the password. Only stock recovery can wipe an encrypted tablet. Other than my cwm cant wipe encrypted tablets it works fine for me. I can flash other roms but they are completely useless since they cant read my encrypted drive.
Does someone know if it matters if I use the US recovery for honeycomb? Or where I can find the recovery for tf101 ics ww.
Ps . Im sorry if this post seems like a mess, I'm really tired and my soft keyboard sucks.
your only choice in your case is if it's CWM 3.2.0.1 is to take your SD card out of your tablet use a card reader and FORMAT your Card FAT32 then save the roms you want to it then boot back in to CWM and it will see them after that
if you have the newer CWM with the Blue controls is Will not use the MicroSD CARD
is uses Onboard Memory and your going to need to some how get ADB to see it.
install android dev kit and send a few commands so CWM can see the microSD card. it's very much like fixing recovery bootloop.
i know your pain i own B50 (SBkv1) B70 & B80 (both SBKv2) and a prime
Did you try the team eos superwipe?
Also I think he is talking about the internal sd and not the micro.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
ok here is what i did for my boot loop i did to figure this one out with encryption on
only Do this IF you have ADB working
Get in to Recovery and Format your Partations Then reboot to recovery a 2nd time
and do a adb push i pushed (Team Rouge CWM Recovery) But in your Case
pushing TF101 Rooted Stock 9.2.1.17 + bootloader + modded recovery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1552303
Might be best as it will fix and problems your having with recovery and switch it back to the MicroSD Card Slot for ROMS
after trying it i think i will Stick with TeamRouge Recovery
lots of guides around on how to setup ADB

What version of CWM do you have? If it's the 5.5.0.4 than it only read from the internal SD.

He means the internal mmc (the location of /data).
@rodstrom, if I understand you correctly, you are saying that once you encrypted your tablet (through an option in the security settings), you cannot wipe /data (or factory reset) through normal options in CWM or another recovery. You think that the only way to wipe data on an encrypted /data partition is through a stock recovery. Correct?
That sounds weird to me, but I have read similar comments in other places. If this is true, then the "encrypt tablet" option is a danger.
Have you tried to format /data using the CWM's "mounts and storage" menu? What was the result?
Have you tried what @Dreamboxuser suggested: the superwipe?
Can you try to format using adb commandline while in CWM?
feisty_noodle exactly!
I can't wipe from settings since it tries to reboot into stock recovery . And I can't wipe from CWM since the eMMC is inaccessible because of the encryption .
From CWMs "Mounts and storage" I am unable to format /data since it is inaccessible . It says something like that it cant read it...
I have not heard of the superwipe, but I'll have to google it. I haven't tried formatting through adb yet, but I'm not sure if that would help.
I'm pretty convinced that I need the stock recovery to wipe the eMMC .

OK, I misunderstood.
@rodstrom
The SuperWipe can be found in Revolution ROM thread.
Becareful using it, if you have a CWM version that read internal only such as 5.5.0.4, it will wipe all you files. I suggest using Roach's 3.2.0.1 or Team Rouge recovery if you're going to use SuperWipe script.
I had the Team Rouge recovery earlier. Although now I have 5.5 something and I can't do anything at all with it . How do I install Team Rouge again ? I tried the modded RecoveryInstaller but nothing happened , just a reboot .
Also I have to cold boot everytime it has turned off . I really need to change my recovery now , if not to stock then at least to something else than 5.5...
Bump,
I'm in trouble here, I have CWM 5.5.0.8 which can't read my external MicroSD, nor read my encrypted internal SD.
I can't flash anything now... What can I do? Is adb an option?
If I can't find my stock recovery I would at least like to have a useful recovery which can read my external MicroSD so I can do something at all.

This member was successful in mounting his external sd with adb shell
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24007127
Hi again!
I'm back and I have tried to follow the post you linked. The problem now is that I can't seem to connect with adb when the device is in recovery mode. Adb works perfectly when booted normally though.
To mount trough adb in recovery mode seems to be exactly what I need, so if I can get adb running in CWM I believe this would be solved.
Maybe another possibility could be to change the mounts in CWM's init.rc before I reboot to CWM, but I don't know if it is possible, or where that file would be. What do you think?
restore stock recovery
I have a rooted TF101 with stock ROM and cwm recovery. I would like to restore stock recovery and keep the other things as is so that I can do OTA when its available. After did may search, I finally found a way and restored stock recovery
successfylly. I would like to sharte my experience with you:
1. The stock recovery is "8239USrecovery.zip". The file name is kind of misleading, but it actaully is a universal
stock recovery for TF101. See "Asus Transformer EPIC NOOB GUIDE."(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494230)
2. The cwm 5504 as from market app "ROM MANAGER" has a "boot into recovery loop" bug. I changed to roach's cwm version
by
2.1 boot into cwm recovery and flash cwm_recovery-5504_roach-tf101-r2.zip.
2.2 cold boot, use terminal emulator to issue
su
echo boot | dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3 bs=1 seek=0
2.3 reboot
3. boot into cwm recovery (roach's version), flash 8239USrecovery.zip and then reboot.
After reboot, cwm is gone.
I can't flash anything at all though, because of 5.5.0.4 only reading the internal sdcard which is encrypted.
If I could get adb working in CWM I could mount the external microsd and flash things again.
Is there any possibility to change CWM's mountpoints from within Android OS?

First of all you need to flash your backup if U have one, system partition would be enought for your effort.
If U don't have any kind of backup - full nandroid backup or adb backup you must flash stock rom.
U have SM-G355HN, download your regional version ( region) from http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SM-G355HN
or register and download it from http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and find your regional version for your phone.
You can flash the stock with odin or kies
Odin :
Second you need odin3 for samsung flash, you can find tutorials how to here in xda or youtube, just search for it.
You will have to have installed usb drivers
Kies :
Kies download : samsung kies, install usb drivers and flash and download it from the net.
You will find a lot of how to's here in xda or youtube, but how to do it with G355HN is really the sama os for the other phones.
thank you for your replay.. the think is that I have already try this steps and instead the fact that I have installed drivers using kies. adb sideload ,kies and odin cant recognize device.. so I was thinking to put flashable build prompt in sdcard and flash it using stock recovery..

If Kies or odin cannot recognice the device ...
If you have previously installed odin correctly and the odin has made partition in your device you should enter download odin mode while phone is off. Use power + Home + Volume down and if it works odin will flash the stock.
If U can't enter stock recovery mode power + Home + Volume up this would be a biger problem.
If the device wont boot and the download and recovery mode doesn't work, your stuck with easy options.
Been messing with recovery ( built in ) and nandroid backup. Cannot create the whole backup just because of the limitation of the file SDCard FS, system recovery program or recovery kernel or update binary.
So far I found only ADB backup via recovery working fully to backup /system & /data partitions.
For all other partitions I can make flashable zip and it's all working good, only /system and /data are limited because of the restriction of fs or kernel/recovery program.
adb backup/restore via recovery / adb:
Code:
adb backup -apk -shared -all -f backup.adb
Code:
adb restore backup.adb
Waiting for custom recovery for phone and full backup/restore within recovery.
its the first time using odin..my custom recovery works fine ( I can flash files using update from external) except sideload which cant recognise device... so if you can create a flashable system to flash it using recovery it might works..!
Provide your stock firmware fregion or link and I'll make you system or data backup - stock only.
Waiting for the firmware region.
my stock firmware region is EUR (Greece).. waiting for the file..! thank you..

Here is the package.
But guess the zip is too large for our phone to handle, check it.
It's only system partition. Try flashing only system partition with odin if this doesn't work.
