Bluetooth crackle problem with car stereo. help! - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Hey I'm having trouble playing music through blue tooth on my car stereo. It crackles every few seconds and it only does it through my phone with most roms I try. No crackles through cd or aux or other people's phones. It happens with all media I play.Anything I could do to fix this?
Thanks

I can't find android beam. But s beam is off. Is there anything else that you did to fix it?

Try turning off the NFC all together. Are you running stock ROM?

Nfc is off. I'll try turning off wifi tonight on the way home. I'm running jb 19 and I've tried a few others but the only one that didn't make static was liquid smooth but it was so buggy with my swype. Could a new kernel help it?

I read post about bluetooth issues after ppl went to 4.3 someone made a thread about it in this section and for the swype issue with liquidsmooth i dnt use swyoe im on SwiftKey but someone did mention it in the ls thread did u try LS 2.9

I tried LS 2.9 because its 4.2.2 and I had no problems but my swype would force close over and over and got really annoying. Im on jb 19 now. Its 4.1.2. Do you know any roms that are different then 4.1.2 that are good? Thanks

I have an issue with crackling when I use the equalizer with headphones. Are you using the equalizer with bluetooth?

I've been having this problem too and it is SO frustrating. Ever since switching to an AOSP ROM. I even just tried LS 2.9 since you said it was working for you, and I STILL get the crackle and skips. I've tried tens of ROMs at this point, and all of them say that this problem is fixed but it is not. At least not for me. There really needs to be a fix for this. I'm hoping 4.4 gets ported soon and that fixes it. *Fingers crossed*

[Q] Paranoid Android BT Issue

I installed Paranoid Android on my Verizon GS3 and everything is fast, smooth, and awesome....except the bluetooth continuously disconnects. If I make a call when it's connected it will stay connected, but if it's connected but not on a call it will disconnect within 2 mins. Any ideas on whats causing this or how to fix it?
I'm in the same boat. Eventually, it will be patched.

Brining this back up...is this still an issue with AOSP roms?

Bluetooth Issues

Hi,
I am using Rogers Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE. Its running superheavy_CM10_JB ROM. Everything works fine the problem I have with this ROM is when I connect my phone to a bluethooth device eg GPS or my car. It connects fine but when I call people volume doesn't come through my car speaker. It comes through the phone same goes to music, but my car will mute itself if I am playing CD as if I am on call. I tried Liquid smooth rom as well same issues. Ginger bread, official ICS and CM9 satble Rom worked perfectly fine. Anyway Superheavy ROM is more stable for me compared to Liquid smooth which gave me issues like when I call someone they can't hear me and I can't hear them but minutes go up as if I am on call. I love this ROM(superheavy) except for this bluetooth issue. Any body know how to fix it? Please let me know. Thank you in advance.

anyone have problems with the phone mic running CM10?

I'm running CM 10-20120919-nightly-evita and everything was working fine for about a day... then I was using my bluetooth headphones and I switched a call from them to internal phone. Since then my mic, doesnt work. It still works while using bluetooth and speaker phone. If anyone can help with support or has had this problem please help.

Yes, multiple times. I have tried returning to my bluetooth head phones and now it wont even let me uncheck the "use for phone audio" box if that means anything.
If I'm reading correct you on a September build? There is so many fixes since then including some mic issues. Download the latest nightly. And the stable build is a bit misleading cause it really just has a HTML file with the source in it.

Im a little confused I don't see the GPS toggles Does this Rom not have GPS yet? Other then that Damn this is nice and smooth like butter.
I'm just wondering, is the phone call hearing problem still a bug in 4.2.2 or is it fixed? Also does YouTube work? These are the only 2 reasons why I am hesitating to flash this.

I've been using the Neutron Music Player. The sound quality is amazing, but most people don't like the UI. I actually kind of like the interface though and the sound is simply amazing.
Tethering via wifi
Is this possible on the rom? I tried it just laughed at me and called me fat (well it did not work but hey) Making sure i did not miss something.
Did you try using Barnacle or the Wifi tethering for root users apps previously suggested for people with problematic tethering?
Fixing the built-in wifi tethering is a goal, but one that probably needs wifi itself to properly work first. Or at least, to work without needing to be activated through another script...

Are there any definitive fixes for BT audio streaming?

So I've been battling with this for a while now and I really don't want to have to go back to my TW based ROMs to fix it. I updated to CM 10.1.2 and discovered that BT audio on Jelly Bean was horrible, it was distorted and skippy to the point that I could not listen to it. I then tried updating to CM 10.2 because some people have said it was fixed in that... no dice, still skippy and distorted. I tried the PAC-MAN ROM, both the latest RC and nightly, still not working. I also tried ParanoidAndroid 3.99 with no luck. So I went back to CleanROM (a TW based ICS ROM) and everything was fine.
But the AOSP ROMS were too good to stay away from! I really love the PAC-MAN ROM and I recently flashed back to the 9/19 nightly. Before I did this I made sure to wipe EVERYTHING. I did a full SD card and internal storage wipe, wiped the system, wiped data, factory reset, wiped cache, the whole nine yards (although when I boot into download mode, under the binaries it says "3 count", what is that about?). So I flushed the whole phone and reflashed PAC-MAN, I still had the problem.
What I want to do here is get any accounts from people who have had the same problem and fixed it. I know a lot of people have posted about it before but I've tried everything with no success! So please, let me know if you know how to fix this, or any insight you might have on the issue.
Thank you so much!
Had the same issue today when I flashed to eclipse 5.1. Reset my head unit in my car and booted in to recovery on my phone and fixed permissions. Works great now

What do you mean you reset the head unit? I'm using a receiver that plugs into 12v and outputs the audio via headphone cable to the car. Do you think just unplugging and plugging back in would be equivalent?

Tried fix permissions but still distorted Thank you though!
I don't think there is any type of reset on the device. This is what I'm using http://www.amazon.com/Technologies-TuneLink-Bluetooth-Wireless-Adapter/dp/B004NQDU5E/ref=pd_sim_sbs_cps_1 It connects to my phone and then outputs the audio via a cable that goes into my car stereo's aux input. I'll dig around and see if there might be.

It could be the specific ROM you are running. Like I said, Eclipse 5.1 works fine, so did Paranoid Android 3.99. Have you tried streaming with a different application (Pandora, etc)

I'm not on an AOSP rom but have read many similar posts to this while trying to fix my 4.1.2 issue for voice input not working on bluetooth devices (which I still haven't solved).
In any case, I have seen instances were people have modified the /system/etc/bluetooth/audio.conf file in order to resolve the choppiness and sound distorting. I can't remember all the specific changes but I do believe they involved changing some of the following lines:
from:
Code:
#AutoConnect=true
#[Headset]
#HFP=true
to
Code:
AutoConnect=true
[Headset]
HFP=true
Couldn't hurt to look and try.

Yeah, I've seen stuff like that too. Thing is, on AOSP (at least from what I've observed) the Bluetooth is setup different. There is no audio.conf file
Thank you though!
Edit: I think it is actually 4.2 that is setup different, probably not unique to AOSP, but all the 4.2 ROMS I've used have been AOSP

Ah, good to know. I have not used any non-TW roms on my S3 yet (hence I have not gone above 4.1.2).
Another thing to look at is your kernel. Are you undervolted at all? Undervolting too much caused similar issues with my GNex back in the day. Could be worth looking into raising your voltage just a little and see if that helps.
I haven't undervolted in a while. I've changed ROMs a ton of times since then. That would reset back to stock voltages, correct?
edit: sorry for the double post

Depends on what kernel comes with the rom. Some kernels are undervolted out of the box while others are not. It's at the discretion of the kernel developer.
