Galaxy S3 Battery fits and works with Galaxy S4 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 General

If you have spare S3 batteries, line up the battery to the far left...
same height and will securely lock in if you line up the prongs to the battery
you'll have space on the right of the battery, but notice how it lines up on the left!
when removing the battery, do as always, don't pull up where there is space to the right of the battery...
pull from bottom of battery where the notch is.
each S3 battery will give your S4 an additional 2100 mAh of juice as a spare!
Not bad when you think about it... 4,700 mAh of juice in total when combined with the stock one 2,600 mAh S4 battery.
keeps the slim look without having to go to the horribly ugly extended batteries and their over sized battery covers.

hit the thanks if I've helped!

I guess I could have tried it long ago. I have three batteries and the charging unit for my S3. Just bought the S4 Charing unit/spare battery for $30. Oh well I guess I can now have 5 batteries that will work

SWEEEEEEEEET!!!
I accidentally reached for the wrong battery, went to put the S3 bat into my S4 and poof, saints started singing in the background and a bright light almost blinded me with the realization that I am in possession of
(4) S3 batteries (2,100 mAh x's 4= 8,400 mAh) and
(2) S4's (2,600 mAh x's 2= 5,200 mAh) ... 13,600 mAh in total...JUICE GALORE!!!!!!!

I only have two batteries, but I would recommend getting a standalone charger for the spare batteries. It's a pain having to reboot just to switch out and charge the spare.

Has anyone tried to fit Galaxy-S3-Neo-(GT-I9301)-battery inside Galaxy S4?
Does NFC work fine under such conditions (another NFC chip inside)?
Does it support Paywave with another NFC chip (NXP PN544)?
I guess it doesn't. But want to hear it from those who has tried...

As long as the contacts meet, then it will work

Are you guys saying your NFC chip is actually attached to your battery? Or are you just referring to the antenna...

Obligatory Extended Battery Thread

Thanks to the abysmal battery life on the MyTouch 4G Slide, I've taken to ordering extended batteries for my phone. Right now I've got these coming my way:
Hyperion Samsung i8190 Galaxy S III Mini 2 x Battery + Charger (1600mAh each)
3600mAh Extended Battery + Back Cover for Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini i8190 Black
Anyone else have extended batteries?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you've got the money, Mugen released a 3400mAh extended battery (link goes to original thread).
the 3500 battery (not good the cover)
I test for now a (2100 mah) battery
It still amazes me that battery technology is still lagging majorly behind all other tech...
That 3500 battery looks huge!
yes battery 3500, dimension (+- ) x 2.
delivery battery + new cover
3600mAh battery might be good for special occations, but not for everyday use. To big!
I got the Hyperion batteries in. So far they're lasting about 10 hours off the charger. I'm still waiting on the 3600mAh battery.
Got the 3600mAh battery in today. If you're going to order it, I suggest getting a plastic pry tool because this battery cover will be very hard to remove from the phone.

I'll post comparison pictures sometime before 2300 EST tonight.
By the way, Mugen doesn't have an extended battery for either our phone or the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 (which uses the same battery).
Using a SD card as a basis of comparison...
Sorry about the poor lighting, but that's why I put the phone next to the card.

Exactly, except I stick with the trains here in the US and each and every single one of them has an outlet to charge up electronic devices with. This battery is perfect for when I'm at work and can't always get to an outlet.

Extra battery comparison

So I have the TMobile S4, the regular battery, Anker's 2600 mAh batteries, and unbranded 3000 mAh batteries from ebay.
What's the go-to battery tracking app? I'd love to know how these things really are, because just as I expected, the 3000 unbranded batteries don't seem to be lasting as long as either of the 2600's.

As a general rule of thumb, it won't ever last as long. You can't put more battery into the same space ( generally speaking ) or it would come that way from the factory. To get a bigger charge battery, you get a bigger ( physical ) battery along with the new phone back.

I feel the anker battery is a bit stronger than the stock, and the ebay batteries go way too quick, so I really wanted to test them. I figured the ebay battery would be a little thicker and I'd leave the back cover off, but the case on, but it still fits under the cover.

I thing, from Galaxy S3 battery are usually with NFC able, but i will ask question from that about this. Even , I need strong battery, because i make couple days testing. My opinion: LTE (4G) network is worster from 3G for original 2600 mAh battery life, and for my way using, on 4G my original battery about hallf of thay live. Not enought for me, because i order this 5200 mAh (2 pieces, because i have speciall universal Sohsine charger for all handys). Wenn coming after test will request opinion about.

Batteries with more than stock 2600maH

Do you guys know any good ones?
*I am looking for something with more than 2600maH that is also the same size as the stock battery. I dont want a battery that ends up making a bulge in the back of my phone, or end up getting a super fat battery and needing a large back cover*
Currently looking at this, looks pretty decent:

***I CAN NO LONGER FIND THE 3000MAH ZEROLEMON BATTERY ON SALE***
I picked up 2 zerolemon 3000mah extended batteries and a charger for $21 on amazon. They are slightly thicker but hardly noticeable. My factory Samsung back cover still fits just fine. I get at least another 1-4 hours depending on my use. Will last me 12-16 hrs total with wifi, bluetooth and gps running all day.

Hey mate, is it safe to put a much bigger battery than the stock ??
Will it be an issue during charge ??
CBS, using a bigger battery than stock is fine. I've used 7-8 and4oid phones with extended batteries and have never had an issue. they will however take longer to charge due to the increased size.
I used to use a zerolemon 7500 mah battery in my galaxy s3. It was great. Took twice the time to charge but well worth it. Only plug it in to charge at night.

No problem. Sounds like a 7500 mah battery sounds like it will suit your needs. Internet, gaming, streaming movies and music will take it's toll on even the best batteries. A 7500 mah battery will last me all day with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and gps all day for work. The average user will get 1-3 days depending on use. With the right rom and kernel can do wonders.

Zl offers a 3000 may but it does not have nfc. They have a 2650 mah battery that has NFC but that is basically stock. They also have a 7500 mah battery with NFC. I'd rather have their 7500 w/wireless charging instead of NFC.

Glad I could help. I haven't used the NFC on my s3 or my s4. I tried playing with it but it's not a need. S4 Extended Battery?

Hi all,
I'm looking into getting an extended battery for my S4 so it actually last a day without needing to charge. All the ones i've have looked at so far make your phone more bulky and need to replace the back doing so.
Is there a battery out there around 3000-4000MAH that doesn't make your phone any bigger?
Thanks in advance.
There's only ZeroLemon 3000mah battery without NFC. Rest is probably fake capacity.
I have HSA 3950mah battery, it last a little longer than my old original battery (and is colder...), but still it's probably around 2600mah.
(original sometimes gets to 40*C, and biggest temperature, which i've seen, of HSA was 34*C)

That zero lemon battery is (from my own experience) a piece of crap. It's without a doubt the reason I am now talking to you from a note 4. I was forced to buy due to my s4 being fried by that substandard battery.
I know zero lemon has a good reputation but I can tell you this: that battery was discontinued for a reason. After my meltdown I opened my phone to find the battery puffed up and very warm. I then tried to put the factory battery back in. No dice. My phone would power on, then immediately power off. Not even getting past the bootloader. I could not keep it on to get into download mode or recovery. It was dead Jim
If you do manage to locate the 3000 mah zero lemon battery DO NOT PUT IT IN YOUR PHONE. I went out to zero lemon to complain only to find the battery had been discontinued. I'm betting I wasn't the only one to have this experience.
I'm just trying to save your phone man. Don't do it!! Just say no!! Or
..? I'll see you in the note 4 forums when you have to buy a new phone.
I do not know where from, but I received a 4800mAh battery as a gift a year ago. The battery isn't labeled, it is just blank and gray with hard black plastic on the top and bottom.

I say the same as some on before, they're probably fake ones. Currently battery technology cannot go smaller, so if you want more mAh, then physical size grows.

Nowadays I avoid these no-name batteries. I had one no-name extended battery on my SGS2, which suddenly got heated up and bulged out... luckily it did not explode in my pocket :S Also, when I measured capacity of that battery it labels as 3500 mAh, I measured around 2600 mAh...

Note 4 Anker battery

How are you guys feeling about this battery? I decided to try it out, back when I had the GS3 I bought one of those 9000mah batteries and it was an extremely rare day that I went below 50% battery, so I went for the 6000mah anker battery here since it is cheaper.
I definitely feel like it has extended life, but it feels like it's only about 50% better as opposed to 100% longer life. I can usually make it to the end of the day now, whereas before I was putting it on the charger when I'd get home from work every day.
It all depends on the use of the phone. I know people that make 3 days use with Zerolemon and some make 18 hrs.

Im thinking the same!
I want to buy the replacement battery for note 4 3220mah , they say they have stronger cells!

Also if i root it and greenify some sh!t will i see big difference?

I bought the 2 ankar batteries that a rotate with the OEM. they are very good and worth the money.
only complaint would be there is a plastic piece on the bottem of the battery that locks it into place. I left it in my car a couple time and it melted and fell off. so now on one of the batterys it fits loose and sometime makes my phone reboot from being knocked around. but i added some tape to the bottem and it fixed the lock and i dont have the problem anymore. it only happened with one of the batteries.
is the battery life better on the anker one? than the original samsung battery

I just got the Anker 3220 last week & so far it does seem to do a little bit better than the stock battery. Not by much, but I've definitely noticed that I don't need to put on on the charger as much.
