Just wondering if anyone has experience with this keyboard.
Thoughts/Opinions?
I ordered one this morning I will have it by Monday sometime
I'll give another post on Tues.
Anything in particular you are looking for?
I got mine Friday and I love it! (Wish it came in other colors besides white!) It pairs up easily and stays connected. I have note had to use the back light keyboard (the screen lights up the keybaord plenty in a dimly lite room) I love the "touch" of the keys! Makes my Note 8.0 much more functional, to me.
I wasn't sure about paying 99.99 for a keyboard but I'm glad I did! It is just what I was looking for!! Buy it, you will not be sorry!

Hope this helps courtesy of my Android buddy- Gerry:
I just love the Zaggkeys Folio for Galaxy Note 8. A sturdy and solid case with a "rubbery" feel exterior. You just know your Note 8 is well protected with this keyboard case. White is too plain for me though, so I just splashed on a couple of vintage style stickers to my liking.

I think this case with keyboard is the most aesthetic looking for the Note 8.. The bluetooth keyboard definitely adds a lot of functionality if you like to type and email a lot using your tablet. Individual keys are the right size and you won't be fidgeting and fumbling pressing those keys. Lengthy entries are a cinch. However , navigation and key input is not intuitive. The layout is not a typlical QWERTY layout so will need some adjustments on your part. Navigation using the keyboard is tricky and cumbersome, so your best recourse is to use the S-pen or your finger along with key inputs. Think mouse and keyboard like on a desktop. I was hopping to map some keys for gaming but at this point I think it will not be even possible.
Oh! And I can say that watching movies in bed is so much more fun. The screen angle stays in place not like my MOKO slim folio case which hardly stays put.
The backlit keys sure look PUURRRTTYYY!
Final thoughts:
This case somehow takes away from the pure tablet experience of the Note 8. It makes your Note 8 feel like a "small netbook/laptop". With the keyboard, you are mostly forced to use the Note 8 in landscape view. In portrait mode, it feels like you are holding and reading a hardbound novel. The weight difference is significant from a naked note 8 or even one with a slim case. They Note 8 is also not that easy to take out of this case if you want to move between cases. So be prepared to use this as your main case once you pop the Note 8 in.
But for my own purpose, this is a perfect accessory that I need. Useful as it is, I think it is still overpriced at $99. Although I can't find anything cheaper that comes close to the aesthetics and slim fit of the Zaggkeys folio. If $99 will not set you back much, then I recommend you get this one.
I received mine on Monday and is very nice and works perfectly
Some things to note
The hinge does flex dont know the long term durability
By doing a function right arrow you can change the colors of the keyboard
Wish it came in different colors
the charging cable for the keyboard is on the opposite side of the charging of the note 8
Thanks Baratheonist. This is what I was looking for. Still debating if I should get it... not sure if i want my tablet set as a netbook or if I'd like to take it out and put back in from time to time. I have the Asus Transformer Infinity with the dock and I find I use the tablet mostly without the dock but I do find it handy from time to time... plus it acts as an extra battery so that was a plus. Maybe I will give it time.
The nicest looking set up I have seen, but, would it kill any of these Bluetooth keyboard makers to add a small mouse pad?
$50
Now only if they could price this thing reasonably!!! $99 + tax I think NOT!!! This needs to be around $50 before the average joe like me would ever even consider buying it.

I definitely agree. This would be a more popular accessory if not for the price tag.

Looks nice.
I wonder if my Note 8.0 would still fit in my front pants pocket with this case on it?
Does the onscreen keyboard still popup when this keyboard is paired?
I have this keyboard too and it's really nice! It's one of the best gadget I've invested in

I just installed the Soundgate M2 car mount. So far, I'm impressed.
I had been looking for a low profile car mount that would work with any phone case.
I took some pictures of how it looks in the car.

Wow like the sleek look. But how does it stay in place? Im guessing you need some type of clip holder? I personally like my phone naked but man this looks pretty rad.
You attach a flat disc either on your phone or case. Size of a quarter coin.
I can't even tell its there.
amazing....
that mount puts your n1 in a perfect location to make EVERYTHING electronic below it obsolete, instantly. ok, the AC is kinda 'portant, but that high dolla nav stuff is shot outta the water by the stuff on the n1.
nice mount. do you have a bluetooth reciever so you can continue to play tunes in the ca r after work ?
I do have a bt dangle, but it isn't perfect. I have handsfree Bluetooth through the factory stereo, but if I have both connected, the stereo "skips" often. So I just connect directly to aux.
Thanks for the review.
Was the discoloration around the M2 from the cleaning agent that comes with it? It seems like a perfect match for me, but according to review from Amazon, the cleaning agent is a bit too strong to discolor the surface.
If you don't mind, I'd love to see a close up of the disk that's attached to the phone/case.
The discoloration from the cleaning agent faded away after I wiped it with a moist paper towel.
There was discoloration on the case too, but it faded away also.
Good lookin setup
Wow thats a good lookin setup. I might have to get one now that i see it.

Thanks. This was the only placement that didn't block anything else, eg. AC, view,iDrive display.
Oh, its an M5 though, not a 7 series.

Though, mine didn't have pictures. I'm thinkin' I might get it, and use it connected to my Gel case. And, just use it like at all times, and have a separate case when one releases to my liking
Not sure why this mount hasn't been more popular. It even comes with 2 attachments for the phone.

Nicely done man. I spotted the ///M on the gauges...
Hopefully I can get into another ///M a couple years after finishing law school... I miss my M3.
Nice find. It really looks great and this is going to make the wait VERY difficult for the official one.
Nice car, I actually missed the Nexus One in the pictures trying to figure out the model BMW it was..
I had the V1 radar detector and switched to the Escort 9500CI. You should check it out, it has built in GPS so it knows where all the Food Lion's are and never falses.. But the coolest thing is if you drive on a street everyday, it knows where all the falses are, but if it senses a police radar a mile away it goes crazy because it is a new KA, V1 would give me 1/4 miles warning...
Been looking for a 335I 6MT Sedan for months, can not find the one i want..
As for the mount, I am ordering one today, tired of waiting for Google to finally release one..
Thanks for all the comments.
Only little quirk about it, now that I've used it for a while is because it's attached to a semisoft case, I have to hold the bottom of the phone with my thumb to click on the icons. Otherwise it's solid. No movement even under hard acceleration.
Does the escort have a good K band detection? In my area its still about half k and half Ka.
Good luck on your search

It all has to do with where you place, and how you orient the disc that attaches to the phone/case
The disc doesnt release from the mount until you twist it well past horizontal, so if you have the phone resting on the dash, then it can stay on landscape mode.
But trying to place the disc at exactly the center of gravity to keep it horizontal without resting on something, would be impossible, especially during times when your car is taking turns or on curves.
Hey all.
Spring is coming, and I usually start to work out again around this time of year. It's warm out, and I want to run. This time last year, I had an iPhone, I had an armband for it, but never really liked it. I also didn't care as much about the phone. Has anyone found a good way to keep your superphone safe while working out?
wii excellent question. I love running. Just recently discovered runstar in the market. I am ready to go.
But unlike the iphone unfortunately the nexus one does not have a variety of 3rd party support
+99999999999999 on this question
Try an iphone armband? They are not _that_ different in dimensions.
119 x 59.8 x 11.5 mm on Nexus One
115.5 x 62.1 x 12.3 mm on the iphone
Hi Guys,
I do a fair bit of running and wanted to take my Nexus One for GPS tracking my run. I use this armband. Very comfortable on your arm, and the phone fits perfectly.
Hope that helps.
I cant tell from the Amazon photo... Is that one thick, or does the phone just fit in there?
You have a side view of it?
Thx!
I too am looking for one...
I'm in the market for an armband as well. Thats why I clicked on this post
Anyway, I'd like to add that CardioTrainer (free version) is hands down the best work out app I've found. Amazing amount of options and settings for the free version. Its really fun to use for tracking in all kinds of workouts. I even fire it up when I play tennis and golf.

I just did a large 8k run, and I have a belkin iphone armband.. my nexus one fits in there perfectly, and the opening is at the top so the headphones fit great.
only downside to cardiotrainer is that it eats your battery! I was at 100 charge when I started and down to 70/60 when I was done.
I had the same issue with Cardio Trainer until I set the GPS to sample every 10 seconds (settings in CardioTrainer). The default I beleive is 1 second, which is a bit excessive...
Yeah there is somthing going on there. I'd lower most of the settings if its that bad.
On my jogs, which range from 3 miles to 6 miles, I use cardiotrainer and stream Pandora with 100% 3g the entire time and at most it uses 20% of the battery.
Thanks for the tip on the belkin. I'll give it a whirl
Looks like everyone likes the armband approach. Maybe I'm just too OCD to like it. I feel off balance or something.
Honestly I'd rather just have it strapped to my chest or something. But I used to use the belkin, I gave it away with my iphone, but if that's your thing, definately go for the belkin, it rocks.
Hey guys,
Just wanted to let you know that I bought this at a local store for 20€. Fits the N1 like a glove, lets you plug in the headphones, has a nice touch and a firm grip and the touchscreen works if you touch it through the plastic front, don't know how. Please ask me if there is any other thing you'd like to know.

I'm not a fan of armbands. I just use generic waist belt case to hold my nexus and this rocketfish bluetooth headset from bestbuy. I can't post a link here but do a search on their website "rocketfish bluetooth" sku is 9246862.
Its my first bluetooth headset and I like it alot. I can answer calls, change tracks, up/down volume without touching my phone. No more tangles with headphone cables.
For the lucky few who have their transformers, how is the build quality? I'm actually typing this up from my Motorola Xoom right now and really like it. But the transformers IPS screen is really drawing me. Also some of the other features like the dock, and front facing speakers. But the larger size is scaring me away. The bezel looks alot bigger the on the xoom especially length wise. Is it noticeable \ bothersome? I really like the xooms design and build quality
. How do you guys feel about Asus's? anyone with experience with both who can comment?
I have a few more days to return the xoom so I need decide if waiting for the transformer to come to the us is worth it.
Also is the transformers bootloader going to be unlocked for sure?

its very nice build, does not feel cheep. there is a little movement on the back if you press it in the right place. but apart from that its perfect in my opinion. im using swiftkey tablet beta. which is perfect and makes typing on it super easy. and in portrait its super easy to type. im finding everything on it much easier to do than on my girlfriends ipad. i've always like asus since i got a eee 4g surf(one of the first netbooks). and a eee pc 1001ha(netbook). and always been impressed with there build quality and design.
cant say about the bootloader. but im sure people will try. i know paul from modaco. has a eeepad. and has all ready rooted and optimize it. just waiting for honeycomb source so they can deodexed the system allowing. custom kernels, roms, mods ect
You've been watching videos, but haven't actually seen one ?
The bezel looks big in the videos becasue you can't see the very nice old gold casing that surrounds the device, i may be a bit larger than the xoom or galaxy tab, but after you've picked it up twice you don't notice it.
the main unit, pad, is solid built, and most of the unit is metal, i will consider it heavy, especially if you combine the keyboard, as both unit has built in battery, but you do get over 14-16 hours of use, comment from asus rep, and it's very thin.

By far the best keyboard for a 10.1 tablet. I tried them all including the swiftkey beta. Thumb keyboard just released a beta you can get for free I was using the paid version before the beta. Are you meant to, as the name suggest, typing with you thumbs?
On real keyboards I type with all 10 fingers, so I wonder how it works on a touch screen. Probably not at all.

It's just a name man... It has a layout very similar to the swiftkey beta split layout(just works a hell of a lot better). There are actually 4 or 5 different layouts in the the paid version and you can have different layouts based on landscape or portrait .

Yeah you can. The point is to be able to hold the device and type at the same time. With a tablet, it is kinda hard if the keyboard isn't split because it is physically hard to reach the center part of the keyboard.

It'll be in exactly the same position as the screen in the photo, except I plan to use the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus (the photo is a Dell Streak 7). I've read some threads about excessive heat generated especially while using and charging the tablet. I think this'll be an even greater problem if I put it in that housing and have it under direct sunlight.
Do you guys think this tablet is a good idea for this application? Also, how does the screen fair under sunlight?
I'm also considering the HTC Flyer as an alternative, but that's a bit bulkier and the front face of the tablet isn't flat, the top and bottom parts of the bezel stick up slightly.
It's fairly glossy, so reflection will be an issue if the sun is at the right angle.
You can easily hook up a vent and a quiet fan if heat is going to be a serious issue, so I'd think you can work around that fairly easily.
Very cool setup
The steering wheel is on the wrong side of your car.
I used my 7 Plus as a GPS high on the dash, for a long trip. At night the headlights reflecting off it drove me nuts, when the sun hit it is was bad, other then that it worked well.
It is quite literally on the 'right' side of the car..lol. That's not my car but it is what I plan to do.
Thanks for the quick replies, another question I have is regarding the GPS. I have a Nexus S and my experience with Samsung is that their GPS receiver is rather poor compared to those used by HTC. My previous Nexus One could find my location faster and track me much better than my Nexus S, which tends to lose signal when I'm under a tree..
Also, I'm open to suggestions for other possible tablets.
My GPS has been stellar for in-car nav and geo-caching. Locks way faster than my epic 4g ever did and I can usually get 10+ sats even in car.
Can anyone tell me how good is the screen brightness? I've read some reviews and they say that the screen is pretty dim compared to other tablets. I'm afraid that I wont be able to see it under the sun.
I'm currently looking for some used Tab 7 Pluses on eBay, they're so rare...
I use my P6200 for driving navigation for a few times already.
I think the brightness is acceptable but I always have to adjust the angle to avoid reflection. I am thinking of replacing the screen protector with anti-glare one.
i used mine 4 to 5 times already for navigation.. i suggest getting a matte screen protector..
Thanks for all great information! So I guess screen brightness is alright, the main issue is the glossy screen. I'll definitely buy an anti-glare screen protector once I find a used galaxy tab 7 plus on ebay...
Hi everyone, I've got another questions regarding the Tab 7 Plus. I know it doesn't use micro usb but rather a samsung connector.
Can someone please tell me how much this protrudes from the tablet when connected? I need to make sure I have enough space for it. Thanks!
I have another question: If you plug in a charger while the tablet is sleeping does the screen turn on?

I have the Galaxy Tab 7+ mounted in my dash where my stock CD player was. I don't have any issues with the device overheating. I live in GA and it is usually pretty hot down here, but I do take the tablet out of the car when I am not in it.
I don't have any real issues with seeing the screen as long as the brightness is all the way up on sunny days. I think my device being lower and in the dash helps reduce the glare on the screen a lot.
I have taken it on trips of about 2-3 hours but not any longer than that. I was using GPS and streaming internet radio or listening to audiobooks the whole time and the device didn't get hot.
Has there been any details about the Samsung keyboard for the 8.4? Not much out there but a few images. Wondering if this had become available anywhere that people have experience using.
Not available where I am atm (Indonesia) really like the keyboard and kinda annoyed they release a product and not their accessories at the same time, seems the norm these days though.
the original keyboard is only available for 10.5 not for 8.4
There does appear to be a smaller keyboard.

Wow thank you so much for posting that video. I'm somewhat sold on the keyboard since it looks actually pretty dope. The layout does seem cramped. Might have to pick one up if it comes in white...
I thought it was only for the 10.5, i'm interested in this. wondered when it's available.:good:
Hopefully it hasn't been cancelled or anything.
Geez! After preparing my reply with links to the available for purchase genuine Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4" keyboard dock / case I found out that I can't post outside links yet. Oh well. Go search Amazon and eBay, there's a UK seller that sells the 8.4" of the keyboard. I'm thinking about getting one myself. Does anyone who owned the 10.5" version ever got into accidentally dropping the tablet because of the way it is docked on it? No lock at all, just propped into it.

Keyboard language
Hey guys, as ill be using this keyboard for typing mainly in french, will i be able to change the language in my tab s settings ?
The only thing is that it seems all Samsung keyboards that are available at the moment for the 8.4 have Korean characters on the keys. And they're all shipped from Korea.

The one thing that would stop me buying this keyboard is I want to see how stable the tablet remains if I pick up the keyboard, while the Tab is attached and 'open', to move to another location. I instinctively do this with a laptop and it's inevitable I'll do it with this combo one day without thinking, if the Tab falls off and does a 20,000 refraction's of life shattering performance I'll be gutted.
AT&T sells the keyboard for $99 but only comes in Gray
I got it from AT&T and while the grey doesn't match my bronze tablet, I can live with it. It's a very nice quality. The only issue I'm having is with it regularly disconnecting and reconnecting to the tablet. This ends up causing the last character typed to repeat a lot until the reconnection. I expect I will exchange the keyboard in hopes that it is just a flawed device.

No, it isn't held by anything other than gravity. Here are a few pictures.

Thank you very much.....
So although there's a 'groove' in the Keyboard for the Tab in reality it's a balancing act and sounds like it can on really be used static on a flat surface?

Yes, I'd say that's correct. I know that I wouldn't try to carry it open for fear of the tablet falling out. I've had similar keyboards for a couple other tablets, so I'm used it it.

Just to let you know I managed to pick one up (specifically for 8.4 to avoid confusion) and after playing with it for a while I would say.....
Although the Tab only 'rests' on the groove it's pretty stable and as long as you don't move suddenly it would be unlikely to fall out.
I'm going to have a think if I can Heath Robinson something to make it more secure.....just a peace of mind thing.
Although the keyboard is small I have large stubby fingers and don't find it a problem to use.
The closed case mode is excellent, what I want/need now is a leather sleeve case that'll hold the two together.....I had a look at the PDAir sleeve for the Ipad Mini which I'm pretty sure would be the right size but they only do it in black or light tan/brown, what I really want is an antique or dark brown to match the bronze.
