Mod is listed under the international version of the one x, but i wanted to repost it over here so the rest of us aware of this awesome mod.
Original Thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1582506\
Basically it gets rid of the option bar at the bottom of the screen on non-ICS apps/games and makes the multitask/tast switch button, the new options menu.
Long pressing the home button becomes the new switcher.

But I dont want the extended power menu.
Is this even safe? This is for the international version and while they are similar, they are not the same. Someone already softbricked his phone trying to use the odexed version of this mod. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1652566

Flashing an RUU does not erase files on /sdcard... I'm assuming you have them backed up in Titanium Backup? So this method should work for you.

I flashed the RUU and my music and photos are still there, but I lost all my apps because there stored somewhere else on the device (thanks HTC), at least that's what I thought.

That's what Zonk7 meant. Of course it wiped your apps. In order to be able to use most apps while SD card is mounted as USB drive, the apps are not stored in the SD card.
Hence the comment about Titanium backup.
Simply restore your apps after you RUU from the titanium backup you have in your SD card.
the mod should work for us Rogers users though, shouldn't it?

Yeah I know, but I didn't make a backup with Titanium. I know I should have, but I didn't think about it at the time and I'm just concerned with space.

My i9103 lost its IMEI by itself (100% stock phone). I tried to fix it in some service shops, but they all failed. It's hardware problem, they say. Since I cannot contact samsung to repair my phone, I am using it as a "tablet", and I'm ok with that
However, since the phone is damaged, battery consumption is huge. "Cell standby" and "Dialer" consume most of the battery. For example, after 6 hours "Cell stanby" - 73%, "Dialer" - 7%, "Display" - 5%, "Phone idle" - 2%.
Now the phone is rooted, with stock 2.3.6 rom. Whatever I tried to flash, some stock or custom roms, the problem was the same. The phone is in "airplane" mode, but once activated it cannot be deactivated. Turning off the radio from the config fail.
Is there any possibility to disable (remove) those applications from the Android using terminal emulator on rooted device?
Thanks!

As I already said, I tried to flash all possible roms, wiping cache and everything was the number one in to-do list.
That is the main reason why I posted question here. Maybe somebody know something about system applications, and how to do some hocus-pocus witchcraft on a rooted device If the question was so simple, I would handle it myself, probably

If EFS backup is not there then its not possible to restore IMEI, only way is to go to SSC....

Well, here is the story. All of the 'Galaxy S' (aka, Galaxy S 1) devices, except a few (sgs4g, sk4g, I think there is another), come with an internal eMMC (embedded multimediacard). This is usually where they put the data partition, for instance on the i9000, vibrant, captivate, etc.
For galaxys4g, we've been getting around this issue for a while with apps2sd. I really don't install that many apps anyways, so I never really run into this problem, but for those who have, that's what they've used. Most roms provide apps2sd (or similar functionality). I think with titanium backup, you can move apps to the sdcard.

Also, I think that the fascinate is the other without eMMC

Actually, here is a nice comparison (fascinate vs. galaxy s 4g vs. vibrant).

I moved most of my apps to my SD card.. but the problem was still there. Then I unnistalled my Rom Toolbox pro.. and THAT seemed to fix the problem.. Very ODD..
One more question if I may...
I flashed Valhallah Final on my phone.. I have A Voodoo sound app on my phone as well.. but when I clicked on it, it said that I didn't have the right kernel for it. Is it just a matter of flashing the right kernel to get the features of Voodoo sound on my phone? Or will that screw up the functionality of the rom that I already flashed?

I'd suggest flashing with cwm. Flashing the kernel won't change the rom. Except for blastoff which will change the wifi.conf.
With titanium, you can integrate those Rom updates into the Rom. That can free up a bunch too.

It deletes the old file that the update replaces. You won't have the uninstall updates in settings anymore. I (assume) that when a system Rom gets an update, the old apk gets scrunched and lingers. This option frees up that space.

Updates to system apps get put into data/app integrating updates overwrites the original app in system/app so it frees up internal memory and takes up system memory. Also integrating dalvik into rom frees up like 50-60mb of internal memory.

Meh, I'll stick to releasing zip files
☆Root required☆
☆Supports for all Android devices!☆
It's aimed to support all Android devices running Android 3+.
This is an improved and more generic implementation of EFS Backup.
This application auto detect all your device partitions and let you save a backup of any of them (Boot, EFS, Modems...), to keep them safe from getting corrupted after bad Rom flashing issues.
You can backup any partition to your internal or external SdCard, the backup supports 3 formats:
Raw partition image (Img)
Tar archived image (No compression)
Compressed GZ image (Small size)
This application was made to be a generic solution for all Android devices, it does NOT use any static/hardcoded block numbers.
Notes:
The backups are saved on /Sdcard/PartitionsBackups.
Do NOT leave the EFS/Modems backups on your Sdcard, make sure you keep them on a safe place
It supports stock and custom Roms (CM, Omni...)
Do NOT use the restoration feature for tests purposes, it is recommended to use it for small partitions only (EFS, Boot, Modems...), you can restore other partitions backups with Fastboot, Odin or any other flashing tool depending on which device you are using.
Bugs reports:
Post your Exact device model
PM me your logcat (you can use Syslog App)
Download.
Changelogs:
12.3:
- Various bugs fixes
1.1.0:
- Add restoration feature, the backup file must be a raw partition image (with img extension)
- Minor bugs fixes
1.0.0:
Initial release
Suggestions are welcome, if you like the application please rate it.

I think it is a path detection issue of the sdcard, di you get the correct path on the App settings?
This application was tested against N910C (Stock), G900F (CM11) and Nexus 5 CM12.
Hi,
regarding those settings: if i set it to "external sd" backup path shows /storage/sdcard1/partitionsbackups which is correct. if i close and reopen settings "external sdcard" is still selected but patch suddenly shows /storage/emulated/0/partitionsbackups.
I tried to make a backup of /data (i guess this must be userdata) but i got a very small file in size (about 100 bytes) if i remember correctly. i tried a backup of /system which i think succeeded but android itself thinks the app has frozen. Also... it seems that the backup is as big as the partition (1.6Gb) even when there only 500 mb used. sorry, no logcat for now

It seems this one can't be done in a generic way, each device has its own pit start/end.
New update 1.2.3 has been pushed with various bugs fixes related to Android L and some customs Roms.
Hi,
Since a few days I'm unable to see any data in my phone via gallery or file manager or any application, and I'm unable to save any data to internal storage. (example: I'm able to use whatsapp for texting, but I can't receive/send any audio/picture and I can't access the old ones).
And I keep getting this error message:"com.android.providers.media.MediaApplication keeps stopping."
I don't know if that's what causing it or if that's just a consequence of not being able to access internal storage.
I can still see all the used storage from settings though.
Phone has unlocked bootloader, but no root/custom rom/recovery.
I saw other Oneplus users started getting the same error these days... (I have a Oneplus 6, but others have different models like Oneplus Nord).
Someone resolved by wiping system and they were able to retrieve storage content and functionality, but they lost apps data, I'm trying to find another way since I have an unlocked bootloader.
A user on stackoverflow suggested I should clean the com.android.providers.media.MediaApplication app data to regenerate the database, but I couldn't figure out how to do it
I tried cleaning media and media.module packages (not media.MediaApplication) from adb but no luck even if successful.
I tried removing "com.android.providers.media" (not media.MediaApplication, I couldn't find that one) folder from data/data with twrp file manager but no luck...
Is there a way to specifically clean "com.android.providers.media.MediaApplication"?
If anyone has any other suggestion on things to try, post it here please.
