Xperia J, stock or FXP? - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

What do you use? I'm on stock jb .31, locked bootloader. In the FXP, the battery duration is better than stock rom? what are the differences between stock and fxp?

I prefer stock ROM with vengance kernel! Works great

How is battery duration? Are there any bug on vengeance? What version of vengeance and stock kernel do you use? Can u list me what apps do u use on your phone? Thanks ^^

Nope there isnt any bug in vengeance. You should try it.
i use social apps like FB, we chat, walkman, etc
And yeah soo much of internet surfing via chrome.
Battery duration works good but i have to charge it twice a days when using lots of internet..
But thats ok cause it happens with almost all the androids!
Hit thanks if i helped! It wont take much time!

For my part, will tell you so if you want a fast and software without the "crap" then go ahead and install FXP CM
Stock soft works very well but sometimes you who had a previous unit of cm or fxp.miui etc are just longing for what was on the phone.
I'm not a proponent of playing on the phone but always test a game like GTA III, for example, the Xperia J jams even on the lowest settings, detailed graphics.
Custom ROMs just eliminate this problem :fingers-crossed:

I'm under CNA currently, and I like it a lot too. Battery life seems good. This ROM is not very different from CM10 alpha 1, just has more tweaks. However I don't know if I installed it correctly but I couldn't find a file explorer whereas there's supposed to be one included in the ROM. Did you guys have a file eplorer right out of the box?

Good question in OP. So many new roms coming in and it's really difficult to choose!
Been using RemICS-UX and was good. Now on CM10 for a week, but it seems the ram is always kept around 400mb with minor lags (maybe because of some junk apps).. battery use was so-so.
If you prefer stable one then ICS but for me, i think i won't go back to ICS anymore.
Now i will consider CNA rom.. Seeing loads of good reviews.

CM10 is still working great (with some reboots due to RAM overload) so I think I will leave it as it is first!

Lightest Rom?

Hi.
My Nexus S is kinda slow now and it cam be embarrassing sometimes.
I only use my phone for Google music, Tunein radio, podcasts, email and basic internet.
I was looking the other day to see what was eating my memory up and I noticed things that I don't use any more like twitter apps and stuff that I will never use like Google play books and play movies.
I am rooted and using a tweaked kernel, but I'm still using stock ROM. I think this weekend that will change.
I'm not interested in overclocking, just a little bit more quickness and stability.
Can anyone recommend a good kernel and ROM combo.
Kernel must have voodoo sound.
Cheers.

If you want blazing fast rom try Metal Dragon Overlord, only drawback it's 4.1.2, if you want 4.2.2. rom try Hellybean or CM10.1 nightlies.
Pretty much every kernel's got voodoo sound so that's nothing to worry about.
Rom&kernel combo? - Metal Dragon Overlord, matr1x kernel.
Hi,
Initially I was looking forward to a 4.2.2. ROM but I have read comments about lag after a week or so of using those ROM's. So I may just stick with a 4.1.2. ROM.
Looking for something that I can flash and forgot, something very mature that I can keep on my phone for the next year without thinking about it or getting reboots. Don't want to be flashing a new version every day.
Cheers.

This is the closest, or one of the closest, to a stock 4.2.2 ROM you can get and it's light, no bloatware. Also if you're using a 4.2.2 ROM, you these mods as well: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2158329
It really increases your performance and doesn't affect battery.

[Q] [MIRO] Is it possible to port/make GB Rom for Miro??

How easy do you reckon it would be to create or port a GB Rom to our MIRO?
I am not a developer but I pick things up quickly. I gather, for porting you need a rom for a phone that is very very similar in hardware and spec to the miro.
I may have a go if you fine people think it is possible

I would say original android development. That would be totally amazing. I am not a dev at all but as I said above I'm quick learner and if I could help or test in anyway just pm me
Sent from my ST23i using xda app-developers app
Im not a dev but can I ask some questions? We all know, cm7 is gb / 2.3 so the standard kernel is 2.x. Do you actually want to use cm7 2.x kernel or the original ics kernel? The hardware itself already run on 3.x kernel. If you choose 2.x, would some hardware capabilities being disabled, like it isnt there in 2.x but 3.x have it (ext4 for example). What do you say if cm7 ran on stock 3.x kernel instead? This would bring cm7 to locked bootloader too. Just a noob asking questions.
Paradox ST21i
Well I would say no. Surely it would cause hardware to not work properly.
You can't use JB for instance using ICS kernel can you? I don't know.
Bootloader is easy enough to unlock though.
I just think that ICS runs okay on the Miro but think GB would be so much smoother.
Sent from my ST23i using xda app-developers app
So no cm7 on stock ics kernel? Thats too bad for people that have unlock: no. I thought it should be easy like x8 / e16i but that phone itself ran on 2.x. Miro on gb would be faster. It would be like running xp on 8-core amd pc. Easy example is galaxy ace plus s7500. It is smoother than my custom rom tipo.
Paradox ST21i

I believe this is mostly because JB uses newer features and hardware specs again. I believe backward-compatibility would work easier than forward one. Therefore I agree with zzztidurvirus.
Also I doubt if it would be 'so much smoother'...
Regards, Drago
Well it is possible... but you would need to compile it from source not port it. It doesn't work like that. And second, by the time you make a stable release, fxp will probably have an even more stable release of jb.

[Q] Recommendations for 4.1.2?

Hey there, I have an i9020a and after trying tons of 4.3 and 4.2 roms I found they all lacked something or other that old 4.1.2 roms had, but now that I'm out looking for them I find they were mostly lost in time. I'm currently using Slim Bean 3.1 but I mostly use the phone for IM'ing, and for some reason it keeps on killing apps after a while when the screen is off, and I'm not alerted of messages until I open the apps again. It also has a huge battery consumption, although in every other aspect I found it a brilliant rom, smooth and blazing fast with great game performance.
So now I'm looking for other 4.1.2 roms and I've read praise towards Helly Bean but that version is no longer on hellybean.com and I can't find any mirrors. Does anybody still have it? And while on the subject, can anyone else recommend other stable roms with BLN support and notification drawer widgets that is speedy and smooth (preferably with a link if possible)?
Cheers!

Sorry folks, recommending best rom threads get closed, why? because history shows that almost all of them become arguments over what rom is "better" and essentially, that is something that can only be determined by individual users.
Members are expected to read the thread in development to determine what is "best" for them.

[Q][E] ICS versus JB

Hey guys, my stock JB Xperia E is a little sluggish mainly because of ram, so I hear a lot about the ICS being faster, though JB has theoretically better ram management. So my question: should I really switch to ICS if speed is all I care about? Anyone felt a speed increase or lower ram usage on ICS? Thanks in advance

controlling jb not that difficult I'm not asking you to use roms what I suggest is:
1) flash a sock deodex jb ROM
2) debloat it
3) don't use any boosters like clean master( I suggest you to use xbooster + greenify these dose it all)
4) try to zipalign (if you can)
5) also make and mod it the way you want....
