There's is no proximity sensor on the Note 10.1 that is currently out, I'm not sure about the new one that's coming out. The hover controls are only on the new tablet, but hopefully it'll come to ours in an update.

That'll be the light sensor
There indeed is a proximity sensor, at least it is triggered in the sensor check.

Yes, there is a Proximity Sensor, as a matter of fact, a new keyboard methodology is being developed right now called "Dryft" which is based solely on the proximity sensor in GN10.1. check it out at www.dryft.com

I don't have the calibrate option!
Is there anywhere else it can be found. When playing POV driving games, if seems to be off by about 4 degrees. Thanks!!

Hello,
Is there any app that turns on and off the screen like the ipad when using the cover?
I've been using "Cover Lock" on my 7.7 which working perfectly.
But it's not working on the Note 10.1 because there's no proximity sensor on the Note.
Please recommend the app that working.
Thanks.

I am using "proximity screen off ", the free version. you can change the screen off time, auto screen on, etc, and it works with the light sensor. Pretty nice.
I noticed that my screen doesnt turn off when I answer phone calls. I though it was a problem with the ROM I was running until I flashed a new one and found out it was there too. So I flashed to stock and unrooted via ODIN. The issue still exists. I turned off the lights in my room...no flashing of the proximity sensor and I tested it in the Galaxy S3's hidden menu...it read "Proximity 0.0 ADC; 0(0,0,0)"
I was wondering if there is a possible fix that I could do, because I would really hate to have to return it to VZW. I had multiple replacements with my Nexus till finally they budged an gave me the S3 as a replacement. I hate all the hassle. I just wish they could give us sufficient CLN Devices.
I've heard from a few other owners that the S3's proximity sensor can be very finicky.
No screen protector? Several of these, most notably the XGear Spectre, create prox sensor issues.
And you haven't manually disabled it in call settings?

No screen protector or case...I havent disabled it either. I tried disabling it and re-enabling it to see if that would fix it and it was a no go. Like I said, Im really hoping I dont have to deal with VZW
Can someone please tell me what their proximity sensor reads as in the hidden menu

I just tried using the Google Cardboard App. When using it, everything jumps around slightly, as if I was shaking. This happens even if I set it up on a table and is perfectly still. Anyone else have this issue? Could it maybe be a bad sensor?
The phone needs to have a 3-axis gyroscope as well as accelerometer. otherwise it won't work right. You can test augmented reality apps or photosphere to see if that works

Could you elaborate?
Does this phone not have a 3 axis gyro? Does everyone with this phone have the same problem?
What apps and functions can be used to test this?

I did, the orientation one is jumpy.
So, I will assume hardware issues only on my phone. Back to Amazon goes ...

Hello , I had the same problem and tried lots of solution and it was only fixed when I flashed Marshmallow ROM from "http://forum.xda-developers.com/idol-3/development/rom-firmware-android-6-0-marshmallow-t3398038"
