Hi i just got a question so im getting ready to cancel my tmobile contract i did hemidall one click stock did i also had to check bootloaders and do again or no?

Is your phone working? If yes your bootloaders are fine and go return it.
I would use kies if you are going to return it... that makes it 100% stock... no questions asked...
Raver made a 100% Stock GB ROM. If you use Kies mini you will need to flash back to Pure Stock Froyo then do the upgrade.

I believe the sgs4g is still being sold with 2.2; therefore, it would be in his best interest to flash back to froyo and not do the update. Otherwise, Tmo might not take the phone back...
I am pretty sure it's ok to send the phone back with the updated ROM provided by T-Mobile and Samsung.

I wouldn't be too sure of that... Encountered a similar issue with my old blackberry. I updated it to 6.0 (supposedly bb's reply to android) but I found it had a battery issue. So I took it back to get a different phone (sgs4g) after having the bb for 3 days, and they wouldn't take it back. I had to downgrade it back to 5.2 in order for them to acept it... Has to be in the EXACT same condition as when you bought it per the Tmo agreement...
We have some people on here that sell phones... I bet they let us know.
Actually my phone came with 2.3.6 from a tmobile seller/friend i saw him cut open the seal to show phone, its quite funny he gets tons of customers but nothing is in his store like phone display and such just a desk or two.

I think that's more of a personal decision. I know you can use FBs carrier unlocker script to unlock it for use with other carriers if you like the phone.
Also, please add [SOLVED] to the title of this thread.

Motorola has definitely heard our out cries about the BL and still haven't done anything. Which makes me think they aren't ever going to. for instance, on their Facebook page they will post something such as, "what is your favorite tv show" and over 50% of the comments are completely unrelated. And those unrelated comments are about unlocking the bootloader.

Kind of stupid if you ask me... the A2 is underrated in the market and didn't have a very successful launch. Only reason I got it was because I loved the first one, and I am happy with this one as well. Motorola would make good money if they unlocked bootloaders and wouldn't have to replace as many handsets if they already came unlocked.. or maybe I'm missing something? Their marketing team has to be smarter than that.

The carrier has some say but ultimately it's up to whoever makes the phones... and Motorola keeps saying that we're going to have unlocked bootloaders but how long has the A2 been out and nothing? That's why people are going to Samsung, easier to mess around with. If I pay for something I wanna be able to use it to it's full potential! But I hate Samsung so I'll remain with my atrix for the time being. And if by the time I can upgrade I don't have an unlocked bootloader or a newer Motorola android w unlocked bootloader then I am going to iPhone (if there's a jailbreak for the 5 by that time).

Samsung hs their own site that specifies when updates are coming out. All of the major US carriers EXCEPT Verizon said November last time I checked (Monday). Verizon is listed as pending or something like that.

Doesn't the faulty grammar and horrible syntax in this article make you slightly skeptical as to how trustworthy it may be? Typically I distrust full page articles that present themselves as one huge run-on sentence.
Also he doesn't cite any sources, and his other articles cover a huge range of products from cell phones to cars, making it hard to believe he has the inside track on any industry, and just roams around the surface discussing whatever he feels like.
The fact that none of his articles have generated any comments should tell you how seriously his articles are taken.
Android Authority says the same... what a shame, best to start using one if the many jb ROMs we have, of course a vzw leak would be nice too.

I was with Sprint before Verizon and I thought Sprint was bad at releasing updates, so it seems each carrier is bad at releasing updates. Glad there's custom ROMs.
Wow this is crazy, I get on the forums everyday of hoping I see a JB update talk ar something. Guess I'll stay on ICS because it seems like every JB Rom has something broken or something. I'll stay on my stable ICS ROM.

Mountain out of a molehill. You guys are putting way too much emphasis on spotty sourcing and broken english.
How does "in the coming months" and them letting carriers announce dates on their own turn into 2013?
We already have fully working JB roms both touchwiz and AOSP With rooting there's no need to wait on silly verizon to get us jellybean
So after jelly bean, it's up to manufacturers to post updates and not carriers correct?

This is why we want the "Official" because all those bugs and quirks that are not working properly can be hammered out. I agree that Stock blows, but stock source is the key. Especially if we get the kernel source. Then all will be well with out custom ROMs/Kernels.
FWIW, this was posted on the TMo SGS3 side from engadget:
Samsung will update US Galaxy S III devices to Jelly Bean 'in the coming months'. Again, no time lines, just more carrier dependency.

LiquidSmooth for a fact, i say that because its been my daily driver the past couple weeks and i haven't had a single issue with it. Granted its AOSP and some people may not like that. But gps, bluetooth, nfc, data, wifi, etc all work
While I agree that most of us root and don't really need to wait for a carrier to release an update I can't stand when people say that. We shouldn't need to do that. These damn carriers and OEMs should be supporting their devices, that we spend our hard earned money on, in a better manner.

Exact same situation here as well. My mom's already fed up with the damn thing freezing up every day, even though it's on the stock V21y ROM and baseband, which was supposed to "fix" these issues. She reboots it just about every day too (or else it gets slow as molasses).
For moms, just flash them a vanilla cm7 with either faux 048 or Trinity T15 kernel.
Solid, dependable, hassle free after initial setup.

Does anyone know if there has been any real progress since the ICS release/leak/whatever for the SU660? I thought that since it has the tegra 2 as well maybe it could be ported over more easily than from the p990. But I don't know what all is involved with that sort of stuff.

I just called AT&T about my speratic reboots on my phone. He did some reset on his end, he told me it might have fixed it. I told him if I elected to have it replaced could I request a replacement phone with firmware MDL? He said that's a different department but he recommend that I go to my local store and have it replaced there if I choose that route. The odds that the store has one is quite slim I'm sure but worth the time since I see that ppl still manage to get one from time to time. First thing I guess I'd need to do is remove root from my current phone, head over, tell them my issue, refuse a master reset (last time they reset my phone I lost everything, including my sdcard...never again). They should then offer me a replacement, I ask for a MDL model, I tell them how to tell. If they don't have any which I'm sure they don't, would I receive another MF3? My store is actually pretty cool, I may just walk in an ask if they have any MDL's...if so than I'll about getting an exchange.

The more I think about it, really whats the point. I asked here the other day "is locked boots the new norm" all so far have said yes, as far as version and AT&T goes. Even if I get a MDL model, im still getting an upgrade next summer...Ill have the same issue then as I'm sure we all will. Its a dark time. I'm sure we'll always have root but flashing custom Roms is what we all what (safe assumption). If this is the case and the modding community is as large as I think it is, I see the 2 carries taking a large hit in sales due to their nonsence. Sorry guys, had to vent
